NO WAY they do this…
There’s no way they actually do this. Now, you guys mentioned you didn’t like the Drew Holiday trade. I mentioned at the end of that video I would not have done that specific deal. Maybe KCP for Drew Holiday, but I digress. We’re moving on. Swinging the pendulum to the all the way other side of things, sticking with the Boston Celtics and talking about the possibility of Jaylen Brown being on the move and and Orlando being named as one of the top three destinations for his services. Guys, welcome into Magic Digest. I’m your host, Patrick Prevy. this your onestop shop for Orlando Magic basketball content here on YouTube. Now, you guys have been supporting this channel so much and I thank you guys so much for that. Uh, but only 30% of you guys who are watching these videos regularly are subscribed. So, if you’re a part of the 70% who’s not, make sure to join that 30%. The support means a lot. Okay, so where exactly is all of this coming from? Is Jaylen Brown on the market? What exactly would it take to get him? First things first, Jaylen Brown right now for the Boston Celtics is going to be their best player moving into next year. And they don’t really have much to play for without Jason Tatum considering that their contracts are all arai and their salary cap. They’re in the second apron and you just don’t have enough to really compete for an NBA championship next year and your front office and organizations in a little bit of a um not an upheaval but like a transition period. So right now he is their best player. Jaylen Brown is their best player going into next year and that’s not exactly something that I think that or someone that they would trade but if they did Clutch Points did mention and I will link this article down below as I always do the top three destinations for Jaylen Brown if the Boston Celtics were to move on from him and that would be going into a full retooling with Jason Tatum after this year or a full rebuild. Uh they mentioned the Magic being third, Pistons being second, and the Rockets being the number one team for Jaylen Brown or potentially to acquire Jaylen Brown. Look, they mention the reason for wanting to get Jaylen Brown is right next to me. Look, the Magic’s offense was putrid. We all know this. And if you can keep Fros and Paulo Bancerero, well then Jaylen Brown actually makes a decent amount of sense. Yes, he’s getting paid $54 million per year and he’s on a massive contract, but if you could keep those two main guys and somehow make it work, then you should probably end up doing it, right? And if you probably give up Jaylen Suggs and a couple of other pieces, uh, and definitely some picks cuz that would be the market that the Celtics are in, maybe it’s not so bad and that would definitely work for you in your favor. Look, I think Jaylen Brown, France, Vagner, and Paul Vancer, that’s an immediate big three, obviously, and every single one of those guys is all-star caliber, probably all borderline in all NBA caliber. That would lead you into a spot where you could potentially win a championship in this NBA. So, I think it would be worth it, but uh it’s obviously pretty far-fetched because the salary cap situation right now is uh it’s tough to grasp. Right now, the Celtics are in the second apron. They cannot receive more salary than they give up. And then obviously the Orlando Magic if they were to make a trade with the Celtics probably. I don’t believe they could get out of the first apron and go to the second apron. So they are in a bit of a mess with that as well. And you I I don’t think you can move aprons through trades. It’s it’s a very complicated scenario. So I don’t know if there’s a salary cap situation that works. But let’s take a look at Jaylen Brown and what he did last year. He was obviously very good for the Boston Celtics, but statistically he’s not going to blow you away at all times. but he was the finals MVP a couple years ago and he had 22 points per game this past year on 46% field goal shooting. Now, what is really interesting about Jaylen Brown potentially going to the Orlando Magic is what happened in that first round series where the Celtics beat the Magic in five games, but things were chippy, things were dirty, some might call it. And Jaylen Brown said he was willing to fight the Orlando Magic to make it into the second round in the playoffs. And I thought that was really interesting because he’s got that mentality, that playoff mentality. And while it may not mesh completely well based off of the history with the Orlando Magic, I think adding a veteran like that would also be something that’s really good, something that’s really positive for this team, when you give up potentially Jaylen Suggs, Cole Anthony, Wendell Carter Jr., other pieces or guys on shorter term contracts outside of maybe Wendell Carter Jr. uh to the Celtics and you get Jaylen Brown back, you want him to be able to bring that extra sense of heart and hustle to your team. And obviously this is something that’s more far-fetched than anything else, but something that people could be entertaining or talking about maybe in the future if there were to be a sense that Boston truly blows it up. Let’s look at what Paulo Vancero did last year. What does this ceiling for this team actually look like if they were to acquire Jaylen Brown? Well, when we take a look at Paulo Banchero, I think it’s clear right now in my I mean I I’ll say I’ll preface this. I’ll say it is my opinion because I have seen some people say Fron. But for the meantime, since Fron cannot shoot the basketball well, uh I think Paulo is the clear-cut number one on this team. He averaged 26 points per game last year, seven and a half rebounds. And while that closeout game against the Celtics, he did foul out. Uh was pretty horrible, uh he was a very reliable, good scoreer, number one option for this team, he did, uh, you know, miss some time last year just as Fron did. And I think that kind of hurt both of them as far as the national conversation is concerned. But Paulo Vancero is a budding superstar in this league truthfully. And I think he’s the best player. And if you were to give him a guy like Jaylen Brown while keeping France Vagner, I definitely think he can elevate his game and be the true number one on this team. And I definitely think it helps the offense a lot too because as you guys saw in the opening blurb, uh there wasn’t exactly a ton of success for this offense, uh you know, last year whatsoever, point blank period. So being able to have those three guys, I think that’s really tough to uh guard no matter what you might think their skill sets are. And if they overlap, I think that’s really just a tough three players to guard uh for your team. Now, what this team would potentially need if you were to get a guy like Jaylen Brown would be a true point guard. Obviously though, all those guys can handle the ball, but can any of them be the playmaker on offense that you would potentially want? I think you would definitely want to pass first point guard in a deal like this. You would definitely have to give up a guy like Jaylen Suggs. you’d probably have to give up. Maybe even Anthony Black, but it just depends on what the Boston Celtics value and what they would want in that trade back and what would be possible in a deal like that. Any sort of restrictions as far as a salary cap is concerned. We saw Jayen Suggs take a major step forward last year, but unfortunately, same old, same old. Whenever it does come to him, he did suffer another injury which gave him another setback. So, we’ll obviously see him probably at full health and still in a Magic uniform next year, but he’s going to have to stay healthy and continue to grow. Hopefully, by next year, he could be averaging 18 points per game, maybe somewhere in the five assist range and still being an allNBA defender. And then, obviously, we want to see those shooting numbers and those percentages and efficiency numbers go up because 3.7 assists, 2.9 turnovers per game is probably not good enough for your starting point guard who’s getting paid over $30 million per year. But, that would be the cost. That would be the price. And obviously this team, if they were to make a deal, you know, a miraculous deal for Jaylen Brown, they would need to go get another point guard because I definitely think that either Cole Anthony and Jaylen Suggs would be a part of that deal or Jaylen Suggs and Anthony Black would be a part of that deal. I think this team would either want some cheaper expiring contracts or they would want to build and you take a couple of the young players that this Orlando Magic team has. Sorry, I definitely cannot give you guys a 100% trade here because or that I would do because there’s just it’s just too complicated for the cap situation. But I definitely think it’s an interesting conversation. We’re in the middle of the offseason. So, you know, you know, or for the Orlando Magic, so you know how it is getting out to these trade rumors and all of the things that are swirling around. But, uh, let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below. Do those three guys, if you get them and put them on the same team, are they a championship favorite in the NBA? I think they are. And I think that’s something to recognize when we throw out some of these names is, you know, you may give up some of the guys that you really like, but it would turn this team into a definite championship favorite and contender without a doubt in my opinion. But as always, make sure that you guys also subscribe to my other NBA basketball channel down in the description below. And if you want to check out the article, it’s also in the description. Jaylen wore all black to the series finale against the Magic in what they called our funeral. He's not coming to Orlando.
I would love to have Jaylen but paying him $64m at age 32 sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Would have to give so much on top of that.
With that said if we could have franz Paolo and JB I wouldn’t hate it. Don’t see Celtics doing it though. If they paid him that much I don’t think they see him as expendable. They would want a decent product for next year to at least try. They will have KP still.
No way! We can’t pay that salary and the luxury tax to only get to the second round. Tax money is payment for a championship not for just participating in the playoffs
Pass.. not interested in Jalen Brown. Too expensive and it won't fit our needs.
Man you have to give us real possibility trades. I have to make sure to stop clicking these Videos they’re Bogus
No
We need Nikola Tesla’s Time Machine= acquire Reggie Miller.
This is another terrible idea. He's barely better than Franz. He doesn't address our needs of playmaking and 3 point shooting. And he makes twice as much as Franz.
Big 3s don’t work, they never have. Magic fans are oblivious to the luxury tax
Yes trading JB solve so many problems and haul they can get back is incredible. WIN WIN Celtics get cap relief and the haul. JB get to play somewhere he can relax. Celts fan base has rode him since they draft him. He constantly the fall guy for all the Celtics short coming. Zingas sick Jb fault, Jrue, Hauser and PRITCHARD can't hit shots JB fault.
