Draymond Green reacts to Steve Kerr’s comments about Jonathan Kuminga’s NBA future with Warriors
And also in speaking of Steve Thomas, I know there’s a big fuss about uh his statement on Jonathan Kaminga yesterday. And for our fans out there that haven’t seen the statement, I’ll give you some context. Uh I think he was on with Tim Kawakami and they were talking about JK and Steve’s answer was it’s a tricky one because Jonathan obviously is gifted and wants to play a bigger role and wants to play more. And for me, I’ve been asked to win. And right now, he’s not a guy who I can say I’m going to play 38 minutes with the roster that we have, Steph, Jimmy, and Draymond, and put the puzzle together that way and expect to win. And so, I think, you know, when I look at that statement, uh, I think I I take a couple things away from that statement. Uh, one being he said with this roster that we have, I’m not sure. He didn’t say that Jonathan Kaminga can’t play 38 minutes anywhere and be a successful player and be an impactful player and possibly reach his promise. That’s not what he said. He said with this roster, I don’t see how that piece fits. Now, do I agree with that? I don’t I don’t know that I necessarily agree because you just haven’t seen it. And so I’m not of the mindset that something just doesn’t work that you haven’t had a chance to see much of. But in saying but also in saying that I think when you look at Steve, one thing that he’s shown as a coach is he going to make the decision that he think is best regardless of what it comes with. We’re talking about the same man, the same legend that didn’t play Jason Tatum in the Olympics and dealt with all flack that came with that. But at the end, to his point, his ultimate goal is to win. And they won the gold medal and and that’s what he set out to do. So here, I understand what he’s saying. I’m I’m not I don’t necessarily agree because we just haven’t seen it and seen much of it. So to to actually know if it does work, but if you JK, you got to make the best decision for you. You got to try to put yourself in the best position that you can possibly put yourself in. And so I wouldn’t get caught up into Steve said this or Steve said that. I think if you’re Jonathan Kaminga in this moment, Steve Curry is Steve Curry. He’s a legend. He will be a Hall of Famer. These are just the facts. And so in saying that, I’m not sure it’s worth getting caught up into the man, he said this, my next interview, whenever that may be, I need to respond. Quite frankly, I don’t think JK should have a next interview until after free agency because for what? And I think in this position where JK has to be careful is Steve Curry is the legend. Steve Kerr is one of the greatest coaches we’ve seen. JK can only lose here. Like, he can say something back. He could be the wrong thing, but he can only lose here. He has nothing to gain from trying to say something back, trying to respond to that. And he can only lose and hurt himself here. So, don’t say nothing. Like, free agency is happening. You got to go into free agency, whether that’s, you know, he’s a restricted free agent. You got to figure out what’s going to work for you and that’s going to happen anyway. So, I would just say, man, Steve Steve Steve gonna believe what he believed. And his beliefs has worked. He won four championships. So, not going to sit here and argue or go back and forth about his beliefs and I don’t think JK should either. Um, but at the same time, if I’m JK and I’m in them shoes, I heard it. I need to move accordingly, figure out what’s for me. But Steve, sit here and question him why he he got four championships. And when and and I I’ll remind you last time I said that to him. I said, “Wow, coach, we got four of them things.” He said, “I ain’t got four. I got nine. You got four.” So that man know how to win. And there’s no point of sitting here trying to question what he knows. It’s been proven that he knows how to win. He knows what it takes to win. I think JK is going to be a great player. Whether he show that with the Warriors or show that somewhere else, that’s on him to figure that out and his his team to figure that out. But what’s been proven is Steve Kerr know how to win and JK is incredible talent. Those things are mutually exclusive. Both things can be true and they cannot work together. And that happens in this league all the time. It is what it is. I wouldn’t make too much of it. I don’t think he should make too much of it. I know Steve won’t make too much of it. I don’t I I think JK, you heard it. It is what it is. I’m not sure that him saying that in words is any different than a any conversation he’s had with JK or B what you kind of thought. Anyway, so it’s been said in words. It’s been put in front of you, but I don’t think it’s really much different than what you already thought. Just put it in words. So, moving on. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Free agency is happening. You got to figure that out. You got to navigate in passing. Tyrese Hallebertton made four game tying or go-ahead field goals in the final five seconds of the fourth quarter. That’s third behind Reggie Miller with five and LeBron James with eight since 1997, the year I graduated from high school. You weren’t even born yet, bro. That’s crazy. Don’t do me like that. I was seven. You was a young junior deacon. You feel me? Yeah. Absolutely. I was seven. You know what I’m saying? Still in Sunday school every Sunday. Didn’t go to church. You know what I’m saying? For sure. I was still in church choir at that age. You better believe it. Me, too, bro. You know what I’m saying? You have to. I got out to church choir, BD. We We was singing uh you know, Kurt Franklin. There’s a man standing. Uh my f I had the first fart. There’s a man standing. And And I was almost talking it. And my my family talked about me so bad. They said I said, “There’s a man.” Oh yeah. And and that was the end of my that was the end of my choir days when they talked about how how I led out with the song. But yeah, bro at that time. That’s crazy though. We got to put you at the the alto. We got to put you in the back. The alto. They they had me the lead off lead off batter. I said the tone. It wasn’t a good tone. You was done. You was done after that. I remember my outfit though. It’s for Easter Sunday. I had some new black jeans my mom had bought me and a and a red number one Maryland terrapens jersey. I don’t know why a football jersey. Yeah, bro. I ain’t had no money like that. I a have no extra outfit. I had to wear that I had to wear that outfit to school on Monday. Damn. I had to wear the outfit to school on Monday. BD. Yeah, that was my Easter that was my Easter Sunday outfit. And the the last name on the back of the number one Maryland Terapin jersey, it just said Terrapens. I was so that was my choir days. 97. That’s what I had going on, baby. That song killer.

If , Kuminga played winning basketball with the minutes he had, Warriors would be still playing…
As great as coach Kerr have been for years, it is obvious, he does not know how to Evolve a team with a firepower like Kuminga. watching GSW games, the offensive schemes are becoming so Obvious.
Kerr is acting just like Pop. Both coaches are know for stifling players careers with talent on their teams. Kerr, did not use his bench enough before Curry got or after. Warriors to me lost due to coaching. Kerr is a great coach, but stubborn to a fought that's detrimental to team.
Basically he wants to be the guy and isn’t a team player
Technically he has 10
The ppl that are saying, Steve benched him coz he didnt take the money that was on offer, My questions is this, Was it Stave's money and was it Steve who offered him that money? If what you say is true and I believe it is, then he was benched because Steve was told to bench him by the same ppl that give Steve his money. So I dont understand all the hate that went Steve's way this season.
All I know is, Dray guaranteed us another ring, I dont recall him saying what year but im guessing he was talking about 25-26. Lets go GOAT-DP
Say what you really want to say DG, Kerr is a hater
The people who believe there is some sort of conspiracy against JK are lunatics. It's a VERY CLEAR bad fit with Jimmy Butler and Draymond. Those three on the floor together with Steph makes life difficult as hell for Steph. Very easy to guard that team if Steph is the only respected shooter out there.
Bottom line, Steve Kerr is saying that he doesn’t develop talent, and if he can’t only focus on X’s and O’s then he can’t play you. Once Curry retires, Kerr will be exposed for not being able to coach up players.
Steve Kerr comes off all PC but he’s a turd
I feel like Steve is in cahoots with management to tank some of the value of some of the players. Steve can't seem to develop high ceiling athletic players. He's done great with Steph, Klay, Dray, Podz, and Loon… but Steve has failed some players with a lot of potential too. He needs to learn how to develop different types of players.
The Warriors are NOTORIOUS for saying negative stuff about players and coaches. Mark Jackson, KD, Kuminga.
what about before jimmy got there??????????
3:49 anybody w/ Steph Curry woulda won 4 championships
Green needs to stand up and say we can play with him. Give them 30 games to figure it out!
The comment Steve made was a horrible take! It’s your job as a coach to make the pieces fit that’s what makes u a good coach; understanding the talent on your team and making the pieces work together effectively
White lover green
Love it bro but I would of like to See Mark Jackson coach you guys because he never got a chance to show his genius
7:24 wtf @barondavis @draymond
The Celtics are going to have to make some moves, i would love it if we could get him. He's one of those players that's going to flourish somewhere else…. I've been saying Kerr is overrated as a coach
I would keep jk over green we need points and he is good in a lot of areas and if he played he would be better he plays the best defense on the best players LeBron Luka and other top people
Does Steve Kerr believe "this roster" can win a championship with Podz and Moody playing 38 minutes a game? Because I sure as heck don't. And personally, I think the U.S. Olympic team wins the Gold Medal if Jayson Tatum plays. The reasons for not playing Tatum and Kuminga are the same….Kerr's personal biases are beginning to cloud his judgement.
🔥Kerr. We need a new coach. It's that plain and that simple. And people need to stop talking about Kerr's previous championships, because if previous championships were the sole reason for keeping someone then we should've kept Klay Thompson.
