Chicago Bulls CASH IN on Rumors in THREE-TEAM deal, turning LEMONS into LEMONADE?! π₯ ReBulled #7 π΄β«
Welcome to another episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls. My name is Philip Charles Vanderhan the fourth and on this episode we’re talking Rebold 7, baby. We’re going to be talking a three-way trade with the Utah Jazz with the Cleveland Cavaliers. And we will talk about what that final roster looks like on this episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls. And it’s because I love to talk ball. If you love talking ball, if you love basketball theory, because that’s all Rebold is. It’s us talking about what a team what their strengths and weaknesses might be if this were to happen. and, you know, keeping it within the realms of possibility under the salary cap. So, I think it’s a lot of fun. And if you guys agree, hit that like button. And we do have a Kobe White jersey giveaway coming, I promise. And I will announce it here when it is live. It is coming soon. Just please uh stay tuned to the XLT Twitter account, Jshai_Bulls. All right. So, the Chicago Bulls plan a reunion. It might not be quite like your high school reunion because we’ll see if people involved are happy about it. With that being said, I’m going to go over real quick. There’s a player that was involved in all three of these teams. That’s why it is somewhat of a reunion. However, I’ll say I was looking at it from the Jazz point of view of they need to finish with the eighth overall pick or better next year. So, eighth all the way through the first pick or else they’ll lose it. So the school of thought right now is the Jazz need to stay young, build for the future, but also can’t be good. Okay. And then so then on the uh Cavaliers side, my school thought was they said they wanted they were open to moving Jared Allen and uh and Darius Garland. So with that in mind, I make I make moves. I make move I move those players, but I also kept in mind that I’m trying to win a championship right now if I’m the Cavaliers. That’s their goal, right? It’s what it should be. I know they want to build for the future as well, but they have a team that’s ready to win now if it’s assembled correctly. And that’s what I tried to do for them. And then for us, I just tried to get better down low, man. I tried to get better big men. And here’s what I came up with. I think this is a win-winwin trade for everyone involved. All right. So, I took on John Collins and Jared Allen for the Chicago Bulls. Now, I hope that this isn’t in inciting any rage because this is probably the best case scenario for players we could receive while giving away very little. Like, receiving John Collins and Jared Allen when in reality we only gave up Pat Williams, Jaylen Smith, and Nicole Vousvich is unreal. It’s actually crazy. Here’s the caveat. I think the Cavaliers might be good in taking Markin back because that’s for me the hook for them. For me the hook for the Cavaliers is that Markin is going to be a bigger better piece a better fit alongside uh Donovan Mitchell than Darius Garland was. And it also makes the Cavaliers even bigger. Now they like the Cavaliers are going to in this lineup run Larry at the three and run because it does he has played a small forward in his career. Uh I mean positionless NBA y’all. And then Evan Mobley would be the uh four and Nicole Vousvich would be the five. Now Vousvich arguably is a different fit than Jared Allen but could be what they need. I mean they love to shoot the three. Check mark for him. and they so that would open up their whole starting lineup to being able to shoot threes. And yes, it does make them worse defensively, but Lorie’s size might make up for that a little bit because look, they’re probably just going to move Strus and Donovan down one. Strus was starting at the three. Donovan was starting at the two. Donovan could start at the one. He’s played point guard in his career. So I that’s what I was thinking for them. I think the Cavaliers, this is a different lineup. Arguably might not be It’s up to you whether they’re better. I think they’re better because I think Lori Markin is a is a better postseason player than Darius Garland was. And I think Nicole Vousvich gives them another guy that could hit important shots when it matters. So yes, they lost two uh very solid players, all stars to both of them if I’m not mistaken. But they can still keep winning from this trade. They might be better. They really might be. not defensively, but they’re going to be a wrecking ball on offense. And then the Jazz, they need to stay bad, but also get younger. They have a log jam in their front court. They had Walker Kesler and Kyle Philipowski, who played really well last year. And Philipsky, who was a rookie, Kesler’s about to get paid. They’ve got so many quality bigs that Here’s what I did for him. I basically I gave them Patrick Williams and Jaylen Smith for John Collins because John Collins doesn’t fit in their timeline like more than anyone else. Like I don’t know if they’ll be willing to move Markin in, but they’re definitely I would imagine they’re willing to move John Collins because they’ve got young players in those positions that that has shown something. And if they’re trying to tank next year again and have one of the eight top spots in the draft, they can’t really have Sean Collins playing for him because he averages 19 points a game last year. He was really good. So I I I think that Jaylen Smith and Pat Williams. Pat Williams gives them he gets he does the job of getting them younger as well as Jaylen Smith. For me, it was about giving them a little bit of upside with Pat Williams. And they do have to pay somebody like there’s a salary floor. And so Garland, in my opinion, would also give them somebody that they could hook up with their new draft pick that’s coming in and then also mer like put those guys with Kesler and Philipski. Like if if the Utah Jazz were to draft Trey Johnson for their two guard position, they might be cooking with Garland, Trey Johnson. Uh, you’re probably going to hope that Pat or not Pat Williams. Uh, you got Philipowski and you got um Kesler and then yeah, I mean I guess Pat could start at your uh three if you want him to, but Jaylen Smith is also a very quality big man. Like he can make up a decent amount with John Collins was bringing them at a significantly smaller bill. And then with Pat, you got Upside and Garland. At least you’re getting a star back Utah. you’re not completely throwing in the towel and you kind of had to to make the salaries work anyway, but Garland to me was like um just a way of satisfying Utah. Now, I think Utah is going to probably need picks. They’re getting rid of Markin and John Collins. In fact, Cleveland might even need a pick, too. Now, the Jazz and Cleveland are willing to also give to each other. I would say that I’d be willing to give up at least a couple of draft picks to make this happen because I think this lineup does a lot for the Chicago Bulls, guys. A lot. Let’s look at these guys. So, we have Josh Giddy, Kobe White, Matas Buzzelis, John Collins, Jared Allen. Okay, now hear me out. Matas at the three. I know that that hasn’t been something I’ve talked about too much on this channel. I think that that would be a pretty good move. I’m saying that it would allow him to be stronger than all of his opponents. He’s going to almost always outsize them and he doesn’t have to worry so much about the getting muscle part. Yes, he wants to put on muscle, but he’s not going to get like bodied by giant power forwards like Evan Mobley for example. Um, Matas at the three makes a lot of sense to me. I feel like it’s his natural position. I do like him at the four because he is a mismatch there, but it could also work the other way. I think at the three, especially with this lineup, it would create a lot of really interesting uh dynamics on offense for the Bulls. And it would arguably your shooting gets a little bit worse than it was because you’re now starting Jared Allen who can’t shoot, but he shoots 70% from the field because he’s a high percentage scorer and he fits phenomenal with Josh Giddy on a pick and roll. And for that matter, so does John Collins. John Collins is is is a pro. He’s a pros pro. Him and Jared Allen would bring a sense of veteran leadership to this locker room that I think would really and and they would be very much fitting the idea of like one through five. We’re as good as we are together, but not Yes. Like we’re not individual crazy players, but this gives me Indiana Pacers vibes a little bit, guys. like you got your you know John Collins is a little bit like Miles Turner and the one thing he doesn’t have which is shot blocking. Um he pick you know you get that picked up on the other end by Jared Allen um down low on at the center position. Also John Collins isn’t a bad shot blocker by any means. He uh blocked more shots than Buch last year. He blocked a shot a game. Um, I mean, going to their stats, Jared Allen, uh, last season he averaged, uh, he had a great year. He averaged 13 and a half points a game, shot 70% from the field, 10 rebounds a game, two assists, a block, a steal. He was a a postseason like me, I’m sorry, uh, a defensive menace. He’s always been a defensive menace. and he had a lot of people taking away from him at times in in in Chicago or I’m sorry in Cleveland because he wasn’t really I wouldn’t say taking away from him but Evan Mobley definitely takes a lot of shine there from him whereas I think John Collins there there might be more opportunity for Jerry Allen especially getting out on the break with Kobe White and Josh Giddy and even Matas Buzzelis now you’ve got guys that can push the pace man and okay you might say that John Collins isn’t like he’s not super mobile. He’s not like a dynamic player, but he’s mobile. Like he can move. He’s just not going to be like flying through the air like he’s Matas or something like that. But John Collins, for anyone who doesn’t know, is a is a solid player. Last season, he averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists, blocked a shot a game, and had a steal a game. I mean, he’s him and Jared Allen are very similar other than the fact that John Collins shoots 40% from downtown and 85% from the free throw line, whereas Jared Allen does not shoot threes. He didn’t even attempt one and only shot 71% from the line. But Jared Allen is the slightly superior rebounder and despite what the numbers say, I’ll take Jared Allen defensively, even though they’re similar, I’ll take Jiren Allen defensively over John Collins. But they’re both good. They’re both good. And now with Matas at the three, I argue you got better defensively at the three as well. I just really like this team. Not to mention now you got your first three off the bench guys. IO, Kevin Wer, and Lonzo Ball are all still in uniform for the Bulls. Are you kidding me? Like this this is the best of both worlds, right? This is where Bulls fans didn’t want me to trade their favorite players, but you also wanted somebody good, right? this is how we get it done. But you have to get rid of draft capital to make that happen. There’s no chance. I mean, we probably don’t even pick at 12 this year. Utah would probably demand that if not the Cavs. Like I could see the Cavs doing it doing it as a way like as a reason for them to think they could maybe draft that guard and really round out their starting five instead of starting Max TR. Um, but I would ask you guys, does this trade move the needle for the Chicago Bulls? I think the answer is undoubtedly yes and you could still build for the future because you didn’t take on anything that you weren’t paying anyway. Like this is a salary equivalent trade. You’re getting rid of players you want to get rid of anyways and you’re bringing in guys that fit the vision especially which you know they’re both 27 so they’re a little older than the window is you know but they’re also right in Matas’s rookie window. John Collins would need to be resigned after this year. So you can if he works out, great. If not, all right. You know, you you you maybe sign a trade him or not sign a trade, you move him by the mid-season. But then with Jared Allen, he’s he’s here for five years. That’s your center. You’re straight. And he’s a great center for the Bulls because he gets up and down the court. He’s athletic. He runs a great pick and roll. He’s a sturdy pick man. He shoots a high percentage. And he’s not going to cost you a lot of like a ton of money either. like his he’s he’s he’s reasonable for what he gives you. Um and then so I have a few thoughts going to the end here. Trading VP will makes this close to no risk. Close. Not quite, but because we’re moving those players to make this happen. We’re not losing out on players that we thought were going to be something for the future of this team other than Jaylen Smith. And it looked like Billy didn’t like him anyway. So, in my opinion, like this is a no- risk uh move other than yes, you are committing that money to Jared Allen for the next five years. Oh, yeah. But we were already going to do that with Patrick Williams. If you’re telling me we’re going to swap out Peewee’s long-term commitment for Jared Allen’s, you sign me up 10 times out of 10 every single time you do that. And then small forward and center are addressed swiftly, man. they are quickly decisively addressed because small forward got filled by Matas Buzzelis and then obviously John Collins took the power forward position and Jared Allen is your center and just like that you have positional freedom in the NBA draft. Now if you still have all the players that we looked at in the lineup you still really don’t want to go guard man unless you’re going to trade Lonzo Ball. Like if you and now at this point like if you can talk to Philly and be like hey guys like what about you know I don’t know Lonzo number 12 and maybe I don’t know you guys pick but you maybe you can move up to number three if you didn’t have to get rid of 12 for this other trade. Um because that would you know obviously you could get up to three you can get um Ace Bailey or Dylan Harper. Uh, I mean, there’s just a lot of possibilities that could happen as a result of this trade because you keep all of the pieces that you think are most viable. And like, yeah, we gave Utah some a couple of bad dudes and we’re getting John Collins, but you can include picks in order to try and outweigh that that talent disparity and, you know, sell them on PE ceiling. If anyone’s going to leave him alone out there, it’s Utah, I’d imagine. uh there. It’s a quiet city I think for the most part. But anyways, and then the last two thoughts I had are it would cost draft capital without a doubt. It would cost draft draft capital. So you got to ask yourself, yes, this team is probably going to win more. Yes, we’re primed for now and the future, but you’re probably going to lose a couple picks down the road. Is it worth it? And again, the Bulls the Bulls might be able to actually build build for the long term, but also have a team right now in the future that can compete. Like this team is not going to be in the playin if that’s the team that that we rolled out next season. I just don’t see it. Barring crazy injury, like we should be a top six seed with that roster. I I would I would think so. But that’ll do it for this episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls. want to know what do you guys think of Rebold number seven? Is it one of your favorite episodes? And before I sign off, I know you guys have been peeping this jersey. I gota I gotta, you know, show the uh Australian Boomers jersey love. Thank you to the Boomers and to Australia for sending this thing out. You guys rule. Uh you know, we repping Josh Giddy out here, baby. We repping we’re repping the Chicago point guard. Sorry, the Chicago point guard. Jay Gibbs, Captain Australia, the barista, as C Red UK also likes to call him, because he’s serving it just how you want it, everywhere you want it. Uh, whatever you want to call him, Josh Giddy is the man. And I’m very proud to support him. Proud to support his countrymen who are very big supporters of this channel. And with that, I will say my name is Philip Charles Vanderhden IV, and I am seeing red more than ever, baby. Let’s go.

Everyone says no
When I said that Lauri Markkanen was a better playoff player than Darius Garland, I misspoke. I know Lauri has not played in the playoffs yet, I was projecting.
What I meant to say is that I think he's a better fit in the playoffs alongside Donovan Mitchell as a scoring mate than Garland was.
His size and versatility, ideally, would allow him to get efficient buckets for the Cavs.
Good for bulls
π
Jerome would start at the 1for Cavs
The only thing i see is that the Bulls would still want their 1 round draft pick
YEEEEAH
Da bulls
Collins and Allen at the 5 would be great
aww I was hoping for a Lauri/Matas team up… that would've been sick
Peeped that Boomers gear immediately! Love it man!!!
I think I love this trade concept. Unique take and I'm a fan of it. We could get a lot out of Collins and Allen, I absolutely love Allen and how he goes about his game. I'd add a pick or two from the Bulls to make it happen.
Matas at the 3, paired with the superior rebounder in Collins as our forwards is great. We'd have depth off the bench. Giddey and White will flourish in this structure. This is awesome, love this episode!
This moves is awesome… best video from you that i ever seen. bulls did not gave or send its pick. much if we can also find or include lonzo ball, zach collins, ayo, jevon, dalen terry
Love the jersey π―π

I like it for all teams
Boomers REPRESENT!
That's a idiotic trade, seems like you're ok with being mediocre! Coby needs to go, he's the only one with any trade value! We need draft picks
The disrespect Collins had to the coaching staff; this Makes no sense to bring him here!
Sweet Jersey! Great Aussie friends π Great video as usual Phil!
