So, my immediate thoughts are is that if you’re the Los Angeles Lakers, I honestly probably wouldn’t sacrifice my depth uh for a player like Marcus Smart. Now, Marcus Smart is a very valuable player. Like, defensively speaking, he brings a lot to the table. Like, he’s a good perimeter defender. He plays with a lot of energy. He’s a player that a lot of teams would love to have on their team. But if you’re giving up a second round draft pick, Jared Vanderbilt is a good 3 and D option and Gabe Vincent, you can make the argument that Jared Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent together are more impactful than Marcus Smart. It adds more depth to this Lakers team, which they kind of lack in a sense, so to speak. So Marcus Smart’s not the player that he once was, but there’s definitely a role for him. So for example, if the Lakers wanted to maybe get a better perimeter defender to kind of make up for Luca’s shortcomings, I guess Marcus Mark could make sense. Maybe if they were to go ahead there and flip Austin Reeves for a starting center for instance and kind of shake up their team that way, then I guess I could maybe see this a little bit more. But for a team that doesn’t have a lot of draft assets um and a lot of, you know, tradable assets as well. I think making this package for Marcus Smart doesn’t make a ton of sense. Now, if you’re the Wizards, this is a pretty good trade for them. They’re turning an older aging player into three tradable assets, which is pretty good for the rebuild and the outlook of this franchise in the future. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I would choose the Washington Wizards. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
