Knicks’ OFFSEASON PLANS after ECF exit πŸ‘€ Shams expects NY to be ACTIVE this summer 😳 | SportsCenter

They get the Thunder for Thursday’s game one in Oklahoma City. Indiana looking for its first NBA title of the Pacers won three in the ABA. Thunder haven’t won a championship as the Thunder, but got one as the Seattle SuperSonics. Indiana coach Rick Carile and Pat McAfee today talked about being the underdog. The stuff with betting and point spreads is so prevalent now, you don’t really need to talk to the team about it. It’s it’s all out there. People are talking about it in real time. We’re going to have to play fast and we’re going to have to move it around a lot and we’re going to have to rebound it because the possession stats in every sport um really do carry the day. Someone told me that Rick Carlau looks like Jim Carrey and I can’t unsee it. For more we welcome in NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins. Okay, so Per, the Pacers, they’ve done a lot this postseason. So why exactly are they considered such a big underdog in the finals? Because that’s because the Thunder are that great of a team when you think about it, especially on the defensive side of things. They get on your heels like a pair of church socks. And when you think about what the Thunder have on the perimeter and what they do and what they could do to Tyrese Hallebertton, they have multiple bodies that they could throw at him from Jub to Luke Doris to Alex Caruso and Kase Wallace coming in off the bench. And hell, SGA is no slouch defensively. And so when you think about what they coming with on their side of the floor, that’s a problem. And they get back in trans transition, something that the Knicks didn’t do. And they have the best player in the series right now in the playoffs knocking at the door of being the best player in the world. SGA, a guy that’s going to go out there and give you 30. This is not Jaylen Brunson. This is a 66 guard that has the mid-range and shooting at a high clip. So Perk, I I need you to put aside your Thunder playing days. I know they just gave you a standing ovation back in Bricktown. I know they showed slim body perk. I know they showed all of that over the weekend, but I need you to put that aside. Who would it mean more to win this finals? The Pacers or the Thunder? Okay, putting that all to the side. Yes, I’m going to go with the Thunder. I’m going to go I’m going to go with the Thunder. Think Think about this, right? Think about how many like former players they didn’t had from Kevin Durant who won the MVP there. Russell Westbrook won the MVP. James Harden won the MVP when they left and they’ve been waiting for that next guy to step up and take them to the promised land. And now you have that team and now they’re back to it. The city is going to go crazy. The state is going to go crazy when or if they if or when they complete the mission. And so when I think about them having a face, a longtime face, a franchise player that’s going to be loyal to the organization and loyal to the city, and they have that in SGA and they’re knocking at the door, winning their first championship, Oklahoma’s going to be lit. Yeah, look at the rebound from the heartbreak from those superstars you just mentioned to get back to this point built for the future. Perk, before we get you out of here, I know you’re coming back, but since you mentioned church socks, I need to know how you feel about noshow socks. I never tried it. Don’t. It’s what Matt Barry has on his feet right now. So 26 years it had been since the Knicks racing to a conference finals. So you don’t just throw that away in one season because they didn’t reach the finals. Yeah. They overachieve they overachieve the season. They lost to the Pacers and I feel like the problem is people don’t put respect on the Pacers name and that’s why they feel like the Nick. Plus it’s sports media 101 to fire coaches. Yeah. We’re not going to fire coach today. We’re just going to bring in Sean Shirania and Big Perk to break this down. And look, here’s the deal with what’s going on with the Knicks. There’s no one arguing that they don’t need to make some moves to bolster their roster in the offseason. So, what are you hearing about what they might do? Guys, I’m told the Knicks have internal meetings this week to evaluate everything from the roster, different changes they could make around everything, but especially the roster. If the last year and a half is any indication, Nick’s president Leon Rosa has gone out and gotten Ojan Anobi, Male Bridges, Carl Anthony Towns, I expect him to be just as aggressive this off season. Whether it’s a landmark player that you could bring in there or definitely depth on that bench. Tom Thibido called it a very important offseason coming up and this is a team that has won 50 games in plus in consecutive seasons for the first time since the early 90s. four of his five seasons as head coach. They’ve made it to the playoffs. So, it’s been a successful run. Jaylen Brunson fully supportive. That front office is fully supportive of Tom Thibido as well. But I do expect them to be very active and aggressive on the roster. All you got to go do is look at the film. The film don’t lie, right? And you could watch that the Indiana Pacers were not only just not only were they deeper, but they were more ready for the moment physically and mentally, right? And it starts with your two franchise guys and Jaylen Brunson and call Anthony Towns. And I think this is a off season of accountability for the Knicks, right? You want Jaylen Brunson to be able to go out there and put in the hard work of being able to work on his lateral speed and drop a couple of pounds so that he can get up and down the floor a little bit faster. Call Anthony Towns got to lose 15 to 20 pounds, right? Got to work on his speed as well, his transition defense, his mentality. If I’m call Anthony Towns, I’m embracing all the criticism that’s coming my way this off season. I want to hear the noise. I want it to motivate me because I want to come back next year a better player. And let me remind you that Carl Anthony Towns still, as horrible as he was defensively, he still was averaging around 23 24 points and 112 rebounds in the series. So imagine what he could do when he’s at his best in tip-top shape. Yeah, for sure. Obviously, a lot of things that New York has to work on this offseason. We’ll see if they’re able to do that. Perk, I’m going to show you something. Check this out. On the show, we’ve had rolling wheels of cheese, a giant croissant, and now the Grand Tomantina in Colombia. 20,000 people at a three-day festival where they hurl 45 tons of overripe tomatoes. They You can’t eat these, so don’t worry about that. Um, they throw them at each other. So, that just got us thinking, Kendrick Perkins, who would you like to throw a tomato at? Oh, the person with the tomato head, Richard Jefferson. I mean, I could see me throwing a fast ball right at him right now. And that’s my guy. But you know, certain people you just want to piss off and activate them. Yeah, that that that smirk right there. That little smirk right there. You know what I mean? That’s my guy. Now, Richard is my guy, but if I had a tomato and we was at that festival, it would be all eyes, all angles, all arm towards his direction. I feel like there’s a lot of, you know, there’s a lot of room for it, too. Sham’s your reaction. Yeah. Yeah. Perk gets him from the side. I’m throwing one as well, right at Richard Jefferson. If anyone is able to handle it, it’s it’s it’s RJ. He’s got the suit. If anything, I just want to mess up his suit. I know he’s going to be wearing that crispy white dress shirt. I want to just ruin that. Yeah. Right there. Like, I just want to ruin that completely. He’s the wrist god. We We got to go at him. You know what? As a University of Arizona guy, Richard Jeff, I fully support that as a UFA guy. throw them all at the Arizona people. So R.J.’s getting their tomato and I completely endorse it. Who’s getting yours? Men that I’ve dated. Sorry. Just be I was going to say just all of us. I was going to name somebody, but I felt like that would be weird. So that’s all. Every man you’ve dated gets a tomato face. All right. I want you guys to hear this. And I want you to hear this right now. I’m going in the same vein. I’m right there with you, Christine. I’m throwing it right at them, too. I got your back. We’ll protect you. Thank you. I want to throw a tomato at Randy Scott’s face and I want him to be smiling and I want him trying to do one of those forced jokes and I’m going to take a tomato full speed and just wing it at him. I can see that happening. Poor Randy. Done. He’s watching right now. He’s too busy writing down jokes. Gentlemen, thank you for your cand. Thanks guys.

  1. Get rid of the coach. He’s never been a championship coach, and he never will be. Get someone who can finish the job.

  2. Well, unfortunately, for the Knicks, Mikal and OG didn’t really turn out to be that dynamic perimeter defense tandem that they should’ve been.

They gave up all of those picks to obtain Mikal, when in reality that probably should’ve went somewhere else.

Also, Thibs showing absolutely no effort in developing the bench all season was unacceptable.

  3. Kat Losing 20 lbs sounds like bad advice to me. Kat needs to beef up his leg strength, dexterity and post pivotry skills in Brunson big man’s footwork camp. He needs plyometrics. Losing 20 lbs would only make him wimpier.

  4. Why are we talking about the Knicks so much as if they are so much more relevant all of a sudden. Not really. They are not the Dallas Cowboys of the NBA! Please stop!
