He says that Ace Bailey has reportedly remained polarizing for NBA executives all off season with the understanding that he’ll need time to adjust before contributing winning minutes on a good team. I would warn Daryl my trying to draft a guy who’s just going to contribute to be a winning piece next season. I want to believe. I want to buy in and I’m starting to. But at the same time, you also have to think about the long term, right? Because if this thing does not work out, if Embiid’s not healthy, and if Paul George gets hurt, it’s going to be ugly for a couple years. And the best way to get yourself out of that hole is to have a lot of young studs, to build a young core, a young nucleus. I would think about building out with the best long-term prospect, a guy who can reach a really high ceiling. But it feels like Daryl my still could have the inclination to draft a player that is just going to help winning next year and kind of be like that final piece.
The Sixers can’t overthink this. Ace Bailey should be the pick at 3.
