Kevin Durant Asking Price From Suns Went Down | Miami Heat Trade Depends On Dealing Kel’el Ware?
Welcome on in guys. Toby here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. If you guys could subscribe that’d be great and appreciate you stopping by. So some interesting things happening in the old trade winds today. We got some intel from the Houston side of things on where things may stand with Kevin Durant. Kelly Iiko who covers them for the Athletic. He uh discussed what the Rockets would potentially want in a Kevin Durant trade, but also put in an interesting friendly little nugget in there about where the trade talks stand with Kevin Durant. And mind you, um you know, Katie, other than badgering some people uh or people badgering him on Twitter, which I saw a funny one today, somebody Kevin Durant, I’ve put him on because I’m a sick person. put him on noties and on replies and posts and it’s only replies and he’s just arguing with people on Twitter all day. It’s hilarious. But he mocked somebody because somebody on a fake page called Login Sports, not Legion Sports or Legion, maybe it was Login Hoops instead of Legion Hoops. Uh, and somebody said that Kevin uh, they tweeted from lodge hoops uh, that Kevin Durant has had talks with Giannis about teaming up in Toronto. And the person just goes to him, he goes at uh, at Kevin Durant or whatever the hell his handle is, it KD Trey 5. He goes, “This is the most pushy.” He goes, “This is the most [ __ ] you could do.” And Kevin Durant just replies calmly just goes, “Fake page.” Which is just like that is honestly that is what makes Kevin Durant an artist at this stuff. It really is. So, uh, look forward to possibly having it towards a Heat roster near you. We’ll see. But, uh, this was the report from Kelly Iiko. It said that Phoenix is aggressive in its pursuit of trade. Uh, Phoenix is aggressive in its pursuit of a trading Kevin Durant and b regaining full control of their draft capital, starting with the number 10 pick in next month’s draft. Team sources said, uh, since the conclusion of the season, Houston fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant. There is a price where the Rockets would be interested, but with a fear of breaking up the roster for a 36-year-old coming off injury, doubt remains over a deal materializing. So, here’s a couple of things that are interesting about this, right? One, all right, according to Kelly’s report here, there are numerous talks that they’ve had. They want to regain their draft capital. What is that from? That would be from the Chris Paul trade, I’d imagine. I’m guessing. I don’t know. Um, they want to get some control. Obviously them being as locked up as they the flexibility very important to the Suns. That’s why even though they made that stupid move last year where we all thought that the Jimmy Butler deal was a deal. Um I remember tell I remember when that deal went down when they traded the 2131 pick for multiple first round picks with the Jazz. Um and remember texting it to somebody who was covering the game with me and they were like, “Oh, this is the Jimmy trade.” Like we all thought the Jimmy trade was about to go down. didn’t go down. Obviously, it went to the Warriors. Um, so now we sit here, we, according to Kelly, they’re having multiple talks because they want to have control, including the number 10 pick in this uh in this upcoming draft. They want control of that. Um, and it’s interesting from a couple of standpoints, right? Because it’s like, all right, have the Heat had any talks? Like, does Kevin Durant have any interest in coming to the Miami Heat? Like, that is a huge element of this, right? Like people have said Kevin Durant’s going to have influence on where he wants to go. Is the Heat one of those places where that even interests him, right? Like I it it’s really hard to gauge now what Kevin Durant wants. I imagine Peace is one of them. Um shot at a championship. Where are the places that he goes? Houston makes sense because they were a two seed this year but in a very cluttered Western Conference and obviously was still far because they lost to a Warriors an older Warriors team but maybe they’re on the up and up. Amen Thompson Alp Alpren Shenun um lot of talent there like no doubt Fred Van Vleet it’s it’s not a team that uh you know then and still even has some guys like Whitmore and Reed Shepard who they haven’t even played yet. So, and and I’m sure that they would have to end up uh dealing and partnering with some of those guys, but if it’s draft capital, it’s an interesting nugget that can unlock some flexibility for for Phoenix that, you know, could interest them, right? But there was this other report that came out from Matt Moore of the Action Network. Is he HP basketball, HQ Basketball, something on uh Twitter, right? But he he said that the talks are the word is that the Suns really value a center with the uh the trade talks and that that is an interesting thing here, right? Because the Heat do have a very interesting center prospect in Kel Wear in my eyes with the Miami Heat. The way I would think, right, this is just my guess. I don’t know. I’m just guessing that in a Kevin Durant trade, Durant trade, the most untouchable guys, Bam, Tyler, and then Kell. That’s what I would think based on talent, value to the team, contract situation, him being on a rookie deal. I’d imagine those are the three guys they want to stay away from. I’d imagine so. But it would be interesting to note is there a world where the Miami Heat would trade Kell for Kevin Durant and that’s and whatever the salary matches and that’s the that’s the trade. So Phoenix is getting their starting center. Bam is going to go back to the five in this variation of the team. KD Bam Wiggins if he’s not in the trade, Tyler Davon. But if you were able to do that and the draft capital could be kept to a minimum because you gave him a starting center, a guy who and and well, everybody would be like, and I would get the arguments against it because the arguments against it would be, hey, you’re trading potentially an all you’re maybe you’re trading an all-star guy was an all rookie. You’re trading 15 and 10 for his entire career. You’re trading, as Bam said, a potential defensive player of the year for what, two, three at the best years of Kevin Durant. You wouldn’t, you were scared to pay Jimmy. You’re going to pay Kevin Durant. Is that the way to go? On the other hand, Kevin Durant, not as much of a pain in the ass. Maybe feels like he’s still as impactful a player if you put him with Jimmy and Bam. maybe feels like more of a perfect fit next to Bam and Jimmy uh next to Bam and Tyler, excuse me. Maybe. And if the Heat were able to do this, see, I don’t think it’s a it’s a double end. I think like if the Heat were to part with Kell in my mind, this is the only way I would do it is if that’s the deal. It’s Kell, that’s what you get. Expirings, congrats, you have your starting center. You bought for the future. we’re buying now, we want to take this, but we but the Heat still have their draft capital and then they can go shopping for else whatever those moves are, whatever they think. If they, you know, they want to add depth, if they want to add a veteran center, then if they want to add some more beat, they now have the draft capital to do it. that to me if we’re talking about building right and we’re talking about the idea of getting the Miami Heat in a spot right where they are contenders again they have a chance again and Kevin Durant is a key to do that I won’t deny that I mean he’s Kevin mother Durant like this you know this is not this is this is not just some some chump and you got to give up if you’re giving up Kell wear to me that’s as good as two first round picks it just is because here’s the thing with with picks, they’re they’re a gamble, dude. Like, they’re great to say. It’s great to say, oh, you know, you could give up a gazillion picks for Giannis and you could give up whatever. But when you have a guy, you hit on a guy, all of a sudden you’re like, boom, we we now have one figured out. From the Heat standpoint, people will be like, well, yeah, okay, Tes, but if you do hit on a P, why would you want to part with that? And I would say I I think there’s two things on the roster that would work that would just be like give me pause. I think Kell is going to be a stud. Okay. I don’t feel like I need to defend my Kryptonian stock on anybody. I don’t have to defend my stance on it. If he’s a Heat Lifer, I’m freaking happy about it. Okay, you guys know me. I love him. I love Yovic. But we were just in this situation with Haime Hakees Jr. where he was a first team all rookie and then sophomore slump came a knocking and we know now the highlight of his years is he’s a correspondent for the finals. Do I think that’s going to happen to Kell? No. I mean it’s he’s 7 foot one. He’s 21 years old. He’s an athletic freak. He looks like one of the special ones. Looks like it. So no, I don’t think we’re going to have a high hockey situation, but it did just happen. And I think if you told anybody like, “Hey, could you go back to last summer and sell high on Hz?” You know, let’s be honest. Most Heat fans would say probably right now, yes. Maybe he’ll bounce back. I’m not writing him off yet, but let’s just be real about the situation of where we’re feeling right now. Whereas Kell right now, the stock’s never going to be I’m not going to say never going to be high, but the stock’s pretty damn high right now. So there’s that and then there’s also the element of Spout, right? Like Eric Spolstra trusting young players. It’s not going anywhere and and will we be in a position in a year where all that worry and trust and all that stuff. Can Kell can Kell shake all of that doubt that Spo would have in him or will there just be natural growth? Um, if I would put it in a I would say majority, yeah, I think he’s going to figure it out, but there is going to be that element of all right, will Spo Truss, will he figure it out? Does he still is he going to get rebounds, balls to the wall? Is he going to get blocks and play defense, balls to the wall? Is he going to be in the, you know, is he they’re going to be in a system where they’re going to set him up for success because they have guys who can playmake for him? Or are we going to be in a spot where no true point guard, nobody can get him the damn basketball? And is this a is this a system that’s built for him and Bam to last together? Is it is it a duo that could truly work? Because look, as much as I love Bam Adabio, truthfully, it’s been a weird, you know, he’s a bit of a weird fit that you got to you got to go around. You take all the all-world defense and effort and energy, but you have to sacrifice that as a guy who is starting to learn to space the floor, showed a big spike in three-point shooting, but is at a point where people respect it. um on top of it, what is the the the the give take on aggression and all that type of stuff. So I just say all that to to to wonder like would the Heat if they just could do it for Kell. I do think there’s an argument to do it. I don’t think I love the argument because I don’t want to lose where I love the warehouse. But if you could do it and there’s no picks, like that’s to me if you’re Pat Riley and and andy Ellisburg and they ask for Kell where I’m gonna be like salary. It’s I’m like it’s Duncan Roier where and that’s it, dude. There’s no second rounds, there’s no swaps, there’s no ones. That’s the trade. and and then you’re left here with all right now you got Kevin Durant and you can you you have a starting five that looks pretty nice but also have an arsenal to still make moves if you want to and now be like oh you know is there a now is there a Giannis pipe dream is there some is is there um some you know does somebody else shake loose that’s like I want to go play with Bam and KD and Tyler. And now the Heat still have a a Wiggins chip with, you know, Kyle Anderson to throw it to to make some maneuvers. So that to me is like the the the get out of jail free guard. If we’re going to talk about just building for the next two years and the cost is going to be Kell, then if the Heat the Heat got to do it with no other picks, like no other like that’s the ass. Okay, you guys are getting your starting center and that’s going to leave the Heat in a place where they can spider out two other branches of of of deals. So, but um interesting reports today. Interesting reports today for

KD without Ware means Bam playing in the 5 again with no back up. Is a Play In Team anyway. Don’t do that.!
Tobin you’re the goat dude.
i would only trade ware for a younger star like when mitchell was available a few years ago.
Never in a million years would I trade Ware for a 37 year old. Don’t care how great KD is.
Only reason we trade Kelel is if you can flip herro, Jaime, jovic and some picks for giannis as well. Which wouldn’t happen.
No trade. Way too risky
Keep Ware trade JJJ
Keep the warehouse
Don't trade ware for KD who is 36 plus years old idc if he scores 30 a game ware has more to offer than KD at this point🤦🏾♂️
Trade wiggins. Rozier an Robinson 4 KD
Matt Moore? The Dolphins QB? It’s getting silly now 😂😂
Rather the greek freak
I will never support this team again if they do this I promise you that lmao I swear bruh wtf 😂
We dont have enough for now, even with Durant. Don’t ruin whatever glimmer of a future we have on an old star. Move on
I want Ware all day
The heat needs 2 draft a good 610 wing player
They better not Trade Ware for old ass Durant
Durant is washed up stop chasing well passed their prime players
Not interested. I'd Trade Wiggins, JJJ, and or Jovic, and 2030 Pick.
If Heat can get KD, Id also grab Derozen. A lineup of KD, Derozen, Bam, Herro, and Mitchell would be formidable. Id draft Clayton, if he was available.
kel'el for KD and no draft capital ? That will never happen. Not in a million years. If that was all it took. Great, sign me up. Heat are in trouble. Time to trade Bam and Tyler and rebuild
Ware has crazy potential, trading him away for KD would not be advised
I'll trade Ware,Rozier,Robinson and 2026 pick for Durant.Ill try trade to move up pick and draft Wolf
I don’t want to give up Ware AT ALL!!! I get it though. I hope we can keep him and trade Herro, Jaime, Duncan, and Terry. I know that will not get us KD but some other pieces. Bam doesn’t want to play center anymore.
Good thing Reily isn't dumb enough to do any trade for Durant
Tobin stop it… KD IS 37 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
bro if we get of ware for KD we are straight bums lol
I agree, I'm not trading Ware for KD. They can take Terry and 2 second round picks and 2 baseball cards if not get on down the road.
Send Bam to the Spurs for 4 1 round picks and 2 sold players. Also, send Herro away because he wants 50 million bye a year he crazy
Time to blow it up, let's trade Spo for 3 first round and bring Halsem to coach for the low.
sleepy pat does the warehouse for kd im out with pat and marcos was right send spo up quinn to HC
Lazy take on Tobin! The math doesn’t even add up. Not saying you can’t get KD for clearance but they aren’t only taking expiring contracts since KD contract is expiring anyways. Wiggins has to in the trade, probably Duncan and Love too to match salaries
Omg DO IT! We need a star shooter. We don't care if he is not dominant anymore.
NOPE !!! WARE IS A FUTURE SUPERSTAR!!! YOU KEEP HIM
No bruh f KD we ain’t doing that shit
Ware averaged 9 pts 7 rebs and 0 asst. Heat fans are like yep I need two first round picks for that guy.
We gotta play the long game.
Send bam honestly
We’ve tried getting KD for years now and everytime he’s gonna somewhere else of stayed where he was, I’m not trading away our future just because NOW he wants to make a move.
Dont trade Ware.
However, dont just play him 15 minutes a game either. If hes gonna play 30-35, cool.
If not and youre gonna keep playing him so little, then ya might as well trade him.
Im more excited to see what Niko develops into
Naw warehouse stays in Biscayne 🏝️
Trade away the future (Ware) for the past (Durant)? I hope not. Durant's success was with the Warriors. A team that already had success. The Thunder, the Nets and the Suns all had talent, but no success.
KD is not the right move. I’d rather run it back and wait for the right move to come around.
