Julius Erving tells a story of what he SAW in a YOUNG Charles Barkley with the Sixers! ๐ฅ #shorts
What was a young a young Charles Barkley like? And did you know that he was going to be special? Yeah. Well, I didn’t I didn’t see the whole package until uh really after I left, you know, I mean, there was there was definitely a transition uh because we played together three years. So, so the first year he came in And uh we were we were you know we were we were the champions. We came in the year after we won the championship. So with our starting lineup we had Mark Ivoron in there. You 610 uh white guy who from New York and uh and he was a good fit cuz you didn’t have to run any plays for him, you know. And uh so that all changed real fast. Child was going to be the power forward and he almost killed Mark one day in practice. I mean you know he he had this thing where he would get on the baseline and then he would just start backing up and you know he was weighing about 280 or whatever. He started backing up. So, whoever was behind him was getting pushed all the way to the foul line. And that’s how he got a lot of rebounds. He just he just got beneath him under the basket and he just he backed him all the way up to the foul line. He backed him all the way up to the foul line. I was like, I ain’t never seen nothing like that, you know, and then he went and got the rebound. So, it was like, well, you got to play him. And and then he would get when he got rebounds, he’d just take off. He just He it just take off. So So we knew he was raw, but I didn’t know he was going to be as good as he ultimately was.

Sir Charles ๐ช๐พ
Charles say "gimme that… I'm gone"…
That Phoenix Sun's Barkley was that Full Package Bartley maybe the Late 80's 76'ers.
EXAMPLE
BACK THEN PLAYERS GOT BETTER EACH YEAR. today they stay on yhe same level
Loved to watch sir Charles play, first at auburn then on to the sixers with the Dr……too bad he wasn't there earlier, we'd be talking multiple titles.
What Zion should be now
Learning the work ethic of elite rebounding from Moses Malone helped a lot.
Similar to Russell westbrook
One of the only rare players who could rebound and handle the ball, run down the court, dunk and or make a pass to an open player! At his position and size!
Ain't know way he was 6'4 and 280, Chuck like 6'6 6'7
Charles Barkley was a great basketball player ๐ฏ๐ฅถ
Respect ๐ป
Thats โค
Good shit Doc๐๐
We've used the term "goat" far to many times! Now this superman here is the definitely the GOAT and still handsome as well โคโค
Crazy that they never won a chip or got to another finals
Chuck was really good by his second season with Dr. J, 20 PPG and 12.6 RPG. His third season, Chuck averaged 23 PPG and first led the NBA with 14.6 RPG. Remember, Chuck was an undersized PF, barely 6'6", but his heart and determination compensated. I have always liked Sir Charles: his gritty play, his attitude, and now his comic relationship with Shaq ๐
Barkley was a lover he called histea team pu…s and he tucked he was a supposed to get rebounds he sucker's at that to Rodman was bettert than him he did nothing Maa made no mark he did nothing but be a good con…
By his own admission, DrJ's basketball IQ was limited 2 the position u played. MJ's floor IQ was 2 play every position needed & he played all positions.
Wow Philly got Barkley the year after they won a ring ๐ฎ ๐ wtf ???๐๐ itโs like Jordan winning a ring then the bulls get D Rose ๐๐๐
Barkley needs to be on 2k ๐ซก
Charles would kill players in "Now" NBA!..
Draymond Green gonna guard him?! DG gonna stop Charles?!
No one will be able to stop Charles if Charles decides to kill during the game!..
Started as a Laker fan with Magic in the mid 80โs. Charles changed everything for me by the early 90โs. Easily my favorite player of all time. He was polarizing
That Alabama Bison had so much monster in him.Up until today he's my favorite. Animal Chuck
Anything less would be uncivilized
i got to see Charles Barkley and Karl Malone play on Team USA in the 1983 Universiade games in Edmonton, AB, Canada
They made a rule I think because of that move. Charles would do
Doc just say it. He was fat , lay and didn't work hard. Moses told him what the NBA was all about and Charles got serious.
Chubby Chuck. The man is a Beast.
These old dudes are terrible storytellers… Especially, Doctor J, who I grew up wanting to play like… Mark Ivaroni was.not 6'10… that's sooo ridiculous.
Pound for pound probably the best rebounder ever!!
For how good he was, Doc is so humble.
A rarity.
If Charles just entered a year earlier we wouldโve been a champion crazy how life works
No way he was 280 in 1st 3yrs in Philly. Afftrwards he bcame โround mound of reboundโ then got traded.
Wow
Really?? What is he talking about? Barkley was top six in MVP voting the last two years that doctor played
And he came in two years after you won the championship!! just so you know, considering you were fucking there and you should know what the fuck youโre talking about but I guess these guys just mumble whatever they want
Im 7th grade i had the DRJ converse and felt like the coolest kid in the whole school
Celtics were the reigning champions in 84-85 season..Sixers won it in 83…Charles didn't leave auburn until 84. Simple mix up Doc ๐๐๐
1) My package is the full package. Ask your girl. 2) In those days the lakers and celtics were the full package ๐ฆ
Why do Dr J look like and remind me of Denzel Washington
