At 23, Scottie Barnes simply is not mature enough to understand the severity of our situation.
I’m sure Scottie will flourish in Milwaukee, but unfortunately he’s ruined his first opportunity at being a franchise player.

If Masai and Bobby sit this one out again in these trade talks then there must be something they are seeing that we are not seeing with Scottie's potential. They are very high on him if they do this again and will regret it if Scottie ends up not being the player they expect him to be.

The raptors is a rebuildinng team a 30 yr old Giannis for Barnes. We need more then Giannis to win a championship so it doesn't make sense to trade for Giannis no to Giannis stick with the rebuild keep Barnes.

I would trade Barnes for Giannis in a second. I havent seen anything from Scottie that makes me believe he can be a #1 option on a winning team. Like you said Giannis is the 3rd best player in the league.

Yes it would take Barnes to get Giannis….. but it’s not going to happen.
Even if the Raptors traded Barnes for GA…. With this lineup they would not be a contender. They would still have many holes to fill and it would take a few years…. TOR would be worse defensively still wouldn’t have the outside shooting to space the floor and GA is worse than Barnes at 3’s and RJ at FT’s….. so they still wouldn’t have a closer and is a good rebounder and rim protector but not great on the perimeter.
My take is Masai contacted MIL about the situation and what MIL are looking for and Masai wasn’t necessarily inquiring about GA but how the Raptors could maybe be a third team and help facilitate a move….

I would trade Barnes in a heartbeat if a reasonable trade can be done. But I don’t think Toronto has what it takes to facilitate this trade without it being a three or four team trade with the caliber that Giannis is and even if they trade for him, where is the front office going to get quality shot maker perimeter shooting to put around Giannis, they can’t even get Malik Monk or KCP now with this young core, even worse if trade happens with all this CBA rules and restrictions, which never affect the Lakers, they traded everyone got old man lineup one season the next they fully young again…how???

These players make too much and the Raptors cap situation is a problem. They need to get in the luxury tax to be competitive because they sped up this rebuild. Eventually you need to pay your younger talent. Where's the money for that? Raptors paid too much to keep players that haven't proven themselves yet. They better improve quickly, because right now the Raptors have a lot of overpaid talent on this team. Teams that win have amazing talent and have a lot of younger players that have value contracts.
Trade Scottie right now before all the team in the nba realize that this man is not a franchise and not a team player…. If i'm the bucks, I want to sell high and get the deal done, want scottie and a lot more. If i'm raptor and want to think all in, i would only make the trade, if, I know brandon ingram is going to be healthy and play next season, and I can make another trade to get someone like derrick white. draft someone like rasheer fleming. that would be a contending team imo. Starter: jakob, giannis, ingram, quickly, white. Bench: Shead, jakobe, battle, mogbo, fleming. hope jakob, shead and mogbo improve their 3pt shot, with a little luck, can content for championship
Raptors should be penalized for tanking, the thunder (in previous years) and nets should also be punished for tanking.
Remember RJ will fit better with Giannis…. Remember how he played with Zion at Duke. Question is what do they do with Ingram. Also if I was Toronto I would try to get Garland.

It makes sense since Giannis is the ultimate version Scottie would want to be. If we get Giannis, we need tons of decent shooters and Scottie is not a very reliable shooter. But it depends on weather Thunders can win this season. If Thunders offer Jalen Williams and Hartenstein with 5 first round picks, I think Raptors will have a hard time to get Giannis unless Giannis choose to join Raptors. Same with Rockets, Amen Thompson and Jalen Green with 5 first round picks, that's cold bro~

I agree with most of what you said. I do think GA will be 31 in December and is starting to slow down on Def and is playing less games in Reg & Playoff than pre 2019. His game is very physical but that is not the most graceful way to extend age in NBA. Both players below will have to be extended at some point as will RJB. With aprons these decisions are more important than the past.
My trade today would be: GA + Bobby Portis = SB + RJB + Jonathan M + 2025 9 pick + 2026 LAL 2nd + 2027 Rap first + 2030 Rap second.
GA is not their only issue and we are not going to save them from Kuzma mistake or Dame injury.
This move helps with hole C /PF depth and I would sign CB as he can help with energy mins, shooting and def.
Start: IQ, GD, BI, GA, JP. Bench: JS, J’KW, OA, CB, BP. Deep bench: Vet min PG, GT, J Battle, 39 Pick BPA, might be good to get a Big Wing so if one of your Cs is out CB can help some there and you play big wing at PF.
I wouldn’t say Giannis is a generational talent he more like a generational player because when Giannis first came to this league no one would call him a generational talent peope like Lebron wemby Zion there are generational talent
