How the Brooklyn Nets Could Flip a Paul George Trade Into a Top-3 Pick

What’s going on everyone? Welcome back to another edition of BKNY Hoops. If you’re new to the channel, I your host as always, Rashid White. All right, you guys actually see the graphics. You see the actual title of the show and these are the media pundits out there um looking to potentially flip like Cam Johnson for Paul George. We know Shawn Marx is actually looking to take back um bad contracts in order to gain draft capital, but again, you know, these draft picks, we don’t really really truly know um what they’re actually going to be. It’s a serious gamble and you got established players that we know what we’re actually getting from those guys, man. So, let’s get into the actual article over here. And it’s saying basically how the Brooklyn Nets can flip a a a Paul George trade into a top three pick. Now, you guys already know if yall follow the show, Ace Bailey is um slated to probably be picked at number three. And you know, it it’s you know, it he has in my opinion from the film studies I’ve actually done, one of the worst basketball IQs I’ve ever seen in a player. And that’s that’s not hyperbole or anything like that, man. Um I’ll probably link those two videos I did into into the comment section. You can go look at it for yourself. All right. So, it says Paul George, 35, signed with the Philadelphia 76ers last summer and partnership was dysfunctional, not dysfunctional to say at the least. He was limited to just 41 appearances, George since the 2122 season and averaged just 16.2 points per game. Uh his lowest average scoring average in a decade. So, he actually signed a 4-year $212 million contract and you’re averaging like 16 points per game. Then that, you know, that’s that’s bench like like like I say, a guy that comes off the bench or like a third or fourth option. That’s not a guy who you expect to, you know, lead your team into like a playoff series or even like going for a championship. So, the article is saying, “Oh, it’s not entirely George’s fault.” the the 76ers was a mess uh as a whole last year, but now the 76ers could look to unload his 4-year, $211 million contract, and the Brooklyn Nets could be greatly compensated for assisting their Eastern Conference foe. And and they said they do have a history when it comes to trading failed star acquisitions. Not that long ago, the 76ers sent Ben Simmons to Brooklyn for James Harden. You know, you know, that trade, both those trades didn’t work out for either team right there. Um, and it says the Nets would like need to receive some sort of enticing draft pack draft package to take on George’s contract. Brooklyn will be one of the most available cap spaces of any team this summer. So, the financials will work out regardless. So, they’re saying like, and you know, it goes over the trade details right over here. It says um this the the 76ers received Cam Johnson and Paul Jaws plus number three pick and the eighth pick actually will go to Philadelphia. But like I’m all for taking back contracts. That’s fine. The Pzingis one actually really makes sense. But Paul George, I just think he’s mentally checked out. But I was on the locker room show last night and we were talking about this man like you know you you put your body in such a like like all the jumping the running um you know the oxidative stress that you really kind of put on your body. You know you just get tired man. I just think Paul George is done. He has this 20 was it $12 million contract it says over here and there’s really no incentive for him to like go out there and just put the you know like put the grind in. I don’t I don’t see it man. I mean he has a guaranteed fouryear $212 million contract. It doesn’t make any type of sense for him to just this is a waste right here man. And yeah you get you may potentially get Ace Bailey but it’s a serious serious serious gamble. We seen number two and seen number three picks fall, right? Number three picks, you’re like, let’s say the number one to three pick. You’re supposed to go out there and you’re supposed to actually lead your team. Go out there, score 20 to 25 points a game, make multiple all-star appearances. Um, be the leader of a team. I just don’t see that from Ace Bailey, man. I, you know, you just compare him to like other players, other wings. No, I I don’t know. I don’t see it, man. Um, now he could go out there, he can actually really put the work in and go watch some film and just really understand and learn the game of basketball, but like the the um the probability of that it it’s, you know, it’s mid, you know, it that’s what I’m saying. We just don’t know. Now, as far as Cam Johnson, um, we seen him and we seen flashes of this and with the, uh, uh, Phoenix Suns. We’ve seen flashes of this, but I mean, he played at a damn near like a all-star caliber level last year. He was putting the ball on the floor. And one of the things that actually really makes you like into that put you put you into that conversation is your ability to actually really like pass the basketball when like like the defense collapses on you and make the right reads. Uh we seen that. Uh he was posting up um he just gave you a lot of different looks and and I’m keeping Cam Johnson. you know, you can actually he’s shown that you can actually um not that you can actually run an offense through him. I was I was shocked somewhat, but you know, credit Jody Fernandez because he’s given him the ultimate confidence and he’s if he does make a mistake, he’s not going to yank him out of the game or yell at him or anything like that, man. And and cause him to actually really overthink the game. So, um um yeah, I’m keeping Cam Johnson. Shooters are extremely extremely valuable, right? Um if you do get like one of these eighth pick here, they’re going to need spacing around them. I think it’s I don’t know if they do pick a Noah Asange Assange. Um I’m pronouncing his name right. My my fault. My But um he’s going to need shooting around him. I’m not just getting rid of shooters. And especially about getting rid of shooters who can actually just come off of screens, right, and move without the basketball. Like he like Cam Johnson’s basketball IQ is really, really, really, really high, man. And it took him years and years and years to really kind of get to this point. Um I don’t really Maybe the K Canipple kid I got to do like a a actual um um film analysis on him like but I mean Cam Johnson’s definitely better than him. So, and we’ve seen Cam Johnson able to like, you know, like explode through contact and actually really like finish on player finish like finish like in terms of like, you know, uh, a dunking on guys when possible. And he’s a guy that’s actually really wants to actually be here. So, he says, and Paul George watched, done, $212 million, right? He’s he’s he’s good for life. He’s set for life, man. Um, so, all right. So I will wrap this video up. Definitely like, comment, subscribe, certainly share the show. And when you share, the universe certainly shares back with you. Peace. Heat. Heat. N. 2. @Rasheed Your comments about Ace Bailey was brutal but it's nothing I haven't heard you said before. You take no prisoners. I respect your opinion. I like your soliloquy.
