I think they were planning on firing Thibs before the playoffs, barring getting to the finals. The Knicks regular season record against winning teams was pathetic, they never properly integrated Bridges, the communication on defense was poor or inconsistent, he over played the starters & never fully developed the bench, he's the league leader in losses in the playoffs as a team with a higher seed. It's not all on Thibs, but I can understand their thinking. Will they find someone to take them to the next level? IDK
