All this BS is coming from writers in the New York/ New Jersey area. They think people up here are stupid
Not interested in any Cam Johnson rumors, but RJ just put up 22-6-5 shooting 40% from corner 3's, 35% from 3 overall with much improved D- 3rd best D rating on the team last year. And he did it for a measly 26M. If that's a bad contract then wtf is a good one?

For all of you who are saying these are rumors and crazy, just keep in mind what the Raps would have to do to entice Giannis to come here. He needs a cast of players similar to the Bucks to succeed. As of now we have a mediocre team that will win the odd great match up but the goal would be to make the playoffs and not much hope beyond the first round. Face it. We have a team half of which are G Leaguers.

This is such a stupid rumour – it's almost demeaning to report on it. That will NEVER happen. Not only is he another wing – on a team that has too many; he's a bad contract and he isn't better than our current prospects. His stats are exaggerates because after the Nets traded Bridges – Nets have nobody decent to play and he acme the number one option with the ball in his hand. And we're supposed to trade our best big when we are too small – one who's miles better than Johnson. – for that ?? NEVER !!!!!

If 2k means anything Cam Johnson is 79 and Jak Poeltl is 83.. So why are we getting better picks away..

Only way I even start to think about this is: JP + RJB + 9 + 39. = Nick C + Cam J + 19 + 26 + 27 + 2027 first lottery protected.
As it sits today we are sending the 2 better players plus 9 in a very deep draft = 39. Money is about the same. We could do this if we get more draft capital
I would still try for SB + RJB + 9 + 2026 second LAL + 2027 first + 2030 second = Giannis A + Bobby P. This helps us with Back C/PF and I think we can sign CB for depth there and maybe sign vet min PG and team choice at 39 to add depth this year.
If KM is at 9 I’m fine with him and 39 and would maybe try to move OChai for late first this year or next.
We need a back up big. If we gave up our starting center and best draft asset to get someone else it would be insane.

I'd rather trade 9 for 13 and 22 from Atl or even 15 and 24 from OKC.
The only way I would feel okay about the Raptors making this deal is if another bigger deal is lined up. If not then I will be beyond disappointed
I dont think Jak will be able to shoot threes next season at all and I think that's absurd frankly, BUT I agree that he has the value to be able to get us a superstar or a high-tier star
Why the hell would we trade away Jak? Honestly. In 2022, the year we lost to Philly in round 1, we didnt have a centre. Did we really give the Spurs a couple first round picks just to put a really good centre in dumb trade talks?
This is a terrible proposal for the Raps. I get it that Scottie is our best player, but to my mind, Jak is the most valuable. If the Nets want Jak, then I see no reaon why we need to part with our #9. We should get Johnson and the Net's #8

Bad contract makes no sense. We barely have any long-term contracts right now and none of them really seem bad.
The only one that makes sense to me is Quickley's contract but the guy has been injured too often to really see if he's worth the money.
Do we really want to go in the next season with Jamal Shead as starter or do you let one of Barnes, Ingram or Rj take the reins that point.

Masai is agitating me this offseason, years invested watching this team be bad and now we have starting line up of Ingram, Barnes, Barrett, Poetl, and Quickely. In a weakened eastern conference that is as good as it gets. We have players that will make a jump next year in Shead, Walter, Mobo, Dick. This is not the year to gut the team to get Gianis. This type of trade never works out, look at the Laker,s and Phoxeix boxed in cap jail and draft picks stripped. Knicks faired no better with Towns. I am still hopefully we get Maluach in the draft, our 2nd line could be better than some NBA teams fist line. Wait till the trade deadline then look at trades if needed
Gianis is already acting like a diva he wants the rights to his coach and make player decisions. He is a great player but he could ruin this team that is set up for the next decade.
