But this trade would see the Toronto Raptors receiving Zack Lavine and the Sacramento Kings receiving Emanuel Quickley Ochi um Akbachi Grady Dick a 2028 first and a 2025 39th overall draft pick. So, in my personal opinion, this is not a terrible move for the Raptors to make if they have their sights set on making the playoffs next year and potentially going on a bit of a playoff run because acquiring Zack Lavine when he just came off his career season last year, in my opinion, uh, with the Sacramento Kings, you’d be buying pretty high on him. So, you want to be pretty sure that, you know, the player you are acquiring can help this team kind of elevate their game and get to the next level. The Eastern Conference is relatively wide open next year with the subtraction of Jason Tatum uh because of his injury. Perhaps players like, you know, Giannis being dealt. The East is pretty wide open. So, I can understand a team like the Raptors who did not have a very good year this past year. And truthfully speaking, just haven’t really found an identity since winning the championship in 2019. In my opinion, this is a good move for them. And all things considered, it’s a pretty reasonable asking price. to get for the Sacramento Kings. They may want to have a change of scenery as well. And why not sell high on Zack Lavine, who seems like he’s in trade rumors each and every season at this point, even dating back to his time with the Chicago Bulls. So, I don’t think Zack Lavine makes the most sense truthfully. Like, if I’m the Raptors, if I’m making a big-time trade, which they have been reportedly um I guess been looking at that option for them, I would go after Giannis. Basically, give up anything they want to acquire Giannis and build around him that way. I don’t know if a core next year of o of of um you know Scotty Barnes, Jakob Purle, Brandon Ingram, and Zack Lavine. Like, yeah, they’ll probably make the playoffs next year, but can this team win a championship? I don’t think so. And if you’re the Sacramento Kings, you’re getting back a pretty solid player in IQ, a couple good younger players, and some draft capital. So, you kind of check all the boxes there. So, I know Zack Lavine is the better player, but if I had to pick a winner for this deal, I’d probably side with the Sacramento Kings. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
