If the Minnesota Timberwolves want to win a championship next year, they might need some help from the Boston Celtics. And if that sounds confusing, then just let me explain. You see, Boston just paid over $700 million to lock up their core, and now they’re deep in luxury tax hell. That means they might be forced to move off one of their elite guards and either Derek White or Drew Holidayiday. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves just got exposed in the playoffs for one thing, being turnovers. And while Mike Connley is solid, the man is 37. Minnesota needs somebody younger, stronger defensively, and better at managing the game. And Boston has two options that fit that mold. So, here’s the trade that I think makes sense for both sides. Minnesota gets either Drew Holiday or Derek White, and they ship out Dante Devanchenzo along with Mike Connley and Jaylen Clark, plus a firstround draft pick to sweeten the deal. Boston cuts their tax bill and reloads with vets in a pick, while Minnesota gets the exact guard they need to take the pressure off Ant and finally make a finals push. Now, it’s rare when a reigning champ and a rising contender can help each other out, but this might be the best deal that gets them both what they want. So, let me know down in the comments if I’m crazy or if this actually makes sense.

    This doesnt make sense, WHY help the Celtics when u can sign a guy like CP3 or even a trade for Lonzo would cost way less. Theres NO reason at all to help the Celtics and take the worst contract in the NBA (Jrue) and ship out young talent

    Ahh yes let the Timberwolves trade for a slightly younger PG then Mike Conley who led the Wolves in +/- all playoffs long while also being deep in 2nd apron hell

    As a mavs fan, I wouldn’t do this. Give me Chris Paul and trade for Lonzo Ball. Resign Exum. Jrue would be better but we would keep Gafford and Washington. We will probably trade Gafford for draft compensation. Hopefully to grab Walter Clayton Jr. Lastly find a way to extend Washington. He was probably the second most valuable player on our team last season.

    I wouldn’t mind giving up Jrue Holiday even though he is a game changer he is still getting old but D white is only 30 so still has a couple of seasons left and he is better then Jrue so if you think the Celtics are giving up D white, think again

    Problem is, that package is too much for jrue and not enough for white. Wolves aren't giving up all that for a 35 year old jrue who's way past his prime, while the celtics won't want to get rid of white and if they do ship him, other teams will be able to produce better packages.

    I’m not trading Clark. They can have Minott but not Jaylen. He’s gonna play a big role for them in the future with his defense

    I'm taking Derrick white over holiday bc he's younger and holiday has already started regressing in a few years his contract going to be a terrible one
