The Thunder Reflect On Game 1 of the NBA Finals | June 5, 2025

The Pacers defeated the Thunder, 111-110 tonight in Oklahoma City. Pascal Siakam led the way for the Pacers with 19 points on 7-15 from the field (1-2 from 3) to go along with 10 rebounds and 3 assists. For the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a team-high 38 points on 14-30 from the field (3-6 from 3). The Pacers lead the series 1-0.

The Indiana Pacers mounted an incredible comeback in the 4th quarter, at one point down 15 points, they managed to rally back and in the end it was Tyrese Haliburton who once again put the team ahead late! This is the FIFTH time this postseason that the Pacers have rallied from a 15+ point deficit, which is the MOST by any team in the playoffs since 1998! They also have become just the third team in NBA Playoffs history to rally from a 15 point deficit in the 4th quarter, joining the 2011 Dallas Mavericks and the 1992 Chicago Bulls. Haliburton’s shot to put the team ahead with 0.3 seconds remaining put Tyrese in the history books, as that marks the FIFTH time this playoff run where he has made a go-ahead, game-winning or game-tying shot within the last 30 seconds of the 4th quarter or in overtime, the most of ANY player in NBA Playoff history! The record was formerly held by Ray Allen in his 2009 run, with four made shots of that variety.

  1. People kept saying this series wouldn’t be competitive and kept telling people Indy in theory is a perfect match to beat them….. on top of that Rick Carlisle forced OKC to go small. People always overlook the chess moves by great coaches

  2. This pisses me off cuz they not like us we play team ball yall play thru sga scoring 40 and still losing hero ball

  3. Thunder still winning it in 6… J Dub and Chet had off night and Pacers still needed a literal miracle of late game shots to win by 1.

  4. Like I said if this thunder team don’t come to play they will lose. Pacers has a seasoned coach. Thunder might have tunnel vision.

  5. People losing their minds and it's only game 1 and both teams are feeling each other out and planning for the next possible 6 games. Both teams were making good strides and mistakes and down to the line with only 1 point win is nothing to celebrate. Lets see how the rest go and I can see this going to game 7. Pacers did look faster but then became bloated and wasted so much time and effort and Thunder capitalized on that.

  6. With the way the whole country is hating on okc, I don’t see how they’re being so poised and respectful. I’d be disrespectful asf after every win.

  7. I am shocked 😮OKC lost this home game, but they will regroup and win this series. Great first game!👍🏾😊

  8. Why does it seem like the woman journalist from the Oklahoman was very anti-Oklahoma with her negativity

  9. okc is only run by their defensive coach. They need a real head coach to organize their half court offense. All they do is harass their opponent in defense physically then run for a fastbreak. They forced 20 turnovers vs pacers in the first half but the pacers could run too and got back on defense as they casually do. The thunder are like soldiers who just carry a few magazines of ammo into a war. They dont care if they run out of ammo because they are used to steal some ammo from their adversaries. The problem was, the pacers gave out their ammo to the thunder but stole their guns in return. okc got a lot of ammo but they were out of guns.

  10. There was no reason for okc to give up that many open 3s late in the game, they kept bringing help defenders from the wing to try to trap guys in the paint and running that small line up in the 4th giving up easy offensive boards… just total choke by okc

  11. Okc just can't close out crunch time games. Its either a blowout win or crunch time loss.
