But this trade would see the New York Knicks receiving Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers receiving Carl Anthony Towns Miles McBride a 55th overall draft pick this year a 2026 second and a 2028 second round draft pick. So, the kind of common theme that I’m seeing so far with these trade proposals featuring uh the New York Knicks is that they want to get some star talents, which is, you know, maybe a Joel Embiid in this case, but what they can actually give up just doesn’t really fit the bill in my opinion. Now, with Joel Embiid being as injuryp-prone as he is, and potentially his time in Philadelphia may be more limited, I definitely could see this as a possible landing spot for him. Perhaps if the Knicks want to get aggressive and go after Joel Embiid, pair him alongside Jaylen Brunson, Michael Bridges, and Anobi. This could be a perfect landing spot for him, especially too if they want to get rid if they want to get rid of Carl Anthony Towns who kind of got exposed this playoff for being a bit of a liability defensively speaking. So, I’m not too sure if Carl Anthony Towns has what it takes to play championship basketball with this next roster. So, Towns could very well be on the trade market, but could he be enough as a focal point of a trade to acquire Embiid? Potentially. Like Embiid, as I mentioned before, really tremendous player when he’s on the court defensively speaking, a much better player as well. The only red flag is the injury history. Last thing the Knicks want to do is acquire a player who just isn’t available. like he’s going to miss he’s going to miss a bunch of time this year. He missed the majority of the season last year. So, it’s a bit of a gamble, but truthfully speaking, if I’m the New York Knicks, I would pull the trigger on this trade, no questions asked. If I’m the 76ers, perhaps Towns going there and playing alongside players like Maxi, whoever they drafted overall this year, Paul George and Jared McCain, this could be a pretty cool fit for him. But defensively speaking, there are some holes in his game. So, it’s a risky move for both teams to make, but I think the winner of this deal would probably be the New York Knicks. If Joel Embiid plays, if he gets injured or the Knicks don’t win, this is a win for the 76ers. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
