I've seen reports saying this and I've also seen reports saying the opposite. I think it's safer to believe the opposite
If you trade for KD you are left with a lot of your own picks as ammo for even more moves and you dont have to trade any of your young core for him, ingram hasnt played with the raptors yet so it wouldnt hurt chemistry to have him as the main salary going out, KD is also miles better as a 3 point volume shooter

Toronto's offer for GA should have a time limit. They could easily shop it around and get outbid. Only making the initial offer less appealing. You're essentially bidding up his value. Not a good negotiation maneuver.
simaliar to a thought i had 3ish years ago when i wanted the raptors ro sign Demarcus Cousins so he could mentor Scottie …signing KD could do wonders for Scotties offense just from Scottie even being around him on a daily basis
I dont get this seems like Masai thinks this is a championship team, we have not even seen Ingram on this team. In a weakened Eastern Confernce with a starting lineup of Poetl, Ingram, Barnes, Quickely and RJ is going to be pretty good, then we have bunch of 2nd and 3rd year players coming off the bench and could draft a star in this years draft
If we are making a trade I would rather see a 2nd lottery pick in this years draft. In 5-6 years there are going to be a few players that are untouchable. The best time to make a trade is at next years deadline once we asses this current roster. one player is going to make the jump. Maybe Walter, may be Gradey goes north of 20 a game, RJ is just entering his prime I would not be shocked if he is a 23-25 point player next year. Why make these trades before your assets mature. Unless it is a steal of a deal why not wait and see what we have next year.
Look at teams that made deal like this the Lakers, Phoneix, Knicks all in cap jail and depleted draft assets. Houston, OKC top teams did it all thru the draft and patients. Even the Pacers are mostly a draft built team.

If we make a stupid trade like this I will go crazy. We just suffered a brutal year. I want that damn pick. We can get a corner stone for the next ten years with this draft pick. KD could leave to. Then what? We lost a 25 year old RJ, 28 year old yak and a 18 year old blue chip prospect for nothing. HELL NO! But this is what happens when your pres Masai doesn’t have a contract extension.
