    As a Celtics fan; I remember Thibs was Doc Rivers assistant/ defense coach during the KG, Paul Pierce run. Doc and the players always gave Thibs credit for their defensive identity and what a great coach he is.

    More importantly than reaching ECF, Thibodeau has had a huge part in making the Knicks so popular again w/the team’s fans. Knicks fans literally took over 7th Avenue to celebrate wins after playoff games this year. Why would you mess w/that terrific turn around after being despised not so long ago? I suppose time will tell.

    This is why the Knicks don't ever make it to the end .. management is always throwing good people away….they constantly rebuilding they never let chemistry grow..and when it starts to they destroy it….Dolan needs to sell the Knicks to someone who knows what they are doing smh 👎🗑️💩🌽

    Huge mistake firing Tibs. He didn't miss basket or cause the turnovers. The problem is is either Rose for the poor bench or Dolan for meddling

    EC teams want Thibs to remain the coach so the Knicks can be stagnant. And not have that fluid pace the rest of the leauge plays with. We will improve the roster but if the style doesn’t change roster moves mean nothing. Yes he implemented a culture of grit, hard nose play but has flaws that CHAMPIONSHIP level coaches would not have exhibit reg or post season

    This isn't the weirdest coach firing ever. That would be Monty Williams getting coach of the year in March '22 and getting fired in July.

    I’m sick of this love affair for tom thibodeau that guy is a bad coach at this point of his career bad rotations, no in game adjustments and no offensive playbook Leon rose should’ve never gave him a extension to begin wit!

    I’m a die hard Boston Celtics fan. NY Knicks owner Dolan is dumb for firing coach Thibodeau. Thibs doesn’t deserve to lose his job.

    The Knicks advanced to the ECF. Knicks beating the defending champs, and the team made into the playoffs 4 out of 5 seasons. NY Knicks lost a good coach and the Knicks will regret it when the team does not advance past the first round.

    New York would be better off firing most of their politicians. Seems to be that they love being unsuccessful in everything, and any sign of improvement needs to be stamped out.

    Celts fan here. The Knicks' progress over two years has been incredible. And you gotta credit Thibs for at least some of that. He even delivered effective offensive schemes when our coach couldn't (and beat us). Respect to Thibs and respect to Rick for this classy response.

    we're going to conveniently forget that Carlisle himself was also fired in 2007 despite having taken the Pacers to 2 consecutive ECFs in 2003 and 2004 before the malice and the palace, injuries and bad trades decimated the team the next 3 seasons. it's all about what have you done for me lately and passing the buck to the coach as the fall guy…

    Thinks he can just buy a championship instead of understanding that it’s EARNED. He’s such a buffoon.

    a dishonest answer that could have been boiled down to I was surprised. I know him and I like him.

    He did not address pros: In last game after Every timeout almost the Knicks came out and scored once or twice.

    That is a positive except it doesn’t explain failure to develop an 8 or 9 man deep roster during the regular season and the clear lack of ball movement and reliance on two superstars individually on 2 or 3 defenders to get baskets.

    The Knicks were clearly outcoached as were the Cavs and perhaps even now OKC from whom Pacers took game one
