let’s grade the last five Charlotte Hornets first round pick so they had the sixth overall pick in the 2024 draft they took Ton Salon out of Chalet i thought it was a reach at the time definitely some better players went after him and I got to give this pick a D so far salon is more of a project than the what the Hornets initially thought and I think it’s going to be a couple years till he’s a main rotational player in this league and I hope the Hornets are patient with him but they made up for it back in 2023 when they took Brandon Miller over Scoot Henderson with the second overall pick in the 2023 class and Brandon Miller is a true threelevel scoring wing in this league also had another first round pick in the 2023 draft they took Nick Smith Jr out of Arkansas 34% from three in year number two 39% from the field i’m going to give this pick a C i don’t think Nick Smith really took advantage of his increase in opportunities in year number two with the 15th overall pick back in the 2022 draft they took Mark Williams the center out of Duke i’m going to give this pick an A minus mark Williams looks like he could be a really good center in the NBA for a long long time but they actually traded him at the deadline in that Delta Connect deal that got rescended and now it’s a little bit awkward with him in Charlotte still but he’s still a really good player at pick 15 and one of the best draft classes in recent memory the 2021 draft class and the Hornets had two top 20 picks so they must have hit on at least one of those right no so I’ll be giving you guys six picks here because at number 11 they took James Book Knight out of Yukon that would be enough and then at number 19 they made a trade with the New York Knicks to select Kai Jones out of Texas that would also be an F they could have ended up with guys like Operun Shenun Jaylen Johnson or Trey Murphy in this class and they ended up with two guys that are no longer on their team let me know what team you’d like to see me do this with
