the Toronto Raptors are looking to add a big name and contend now Brian Winhorse said the Toronto Raptors want to make a splash and add a big star level name to their team They want to return to contention and in an Eastern Conference that can be wide wide open starting next season they are looking to win now So they have pieces They made a win now trade for Brandon Ingram last season and extended him And now we’re hearing reports this morning that there is mutual interest between Giannis onto the Kumbbo and the Toronto Raptors meaning Giannis would have some interest in going to the six And also the Raptors would have some interest in making a blockbuster trade offer and a package to land Giannis So let’s look at how both sides can make this work Starting things off the Bucks are only going to trade Giannis if they’re getting the massive halt in return And if you’re looking at Toronto you immediately look at Scotty Barnes as a centerpiece of this deal He’s a 23-year-old do-it- all rising star that has gotten better each year in the league And you can definitely see him as a franchise building block if you’re Milwaukee Additionally maybe an RJ Barrett then a handful of filler role players maybe a Grady Dick can be involved in there as well And then comes the Hall of Draft picks The Raptors own all of their future first which is essential in making a trade for Giannis including the number nine overall pick in the draft later this month So they could trade maybe four to five first alternating every other year They also have some other first just like when they traded Pascal Seakum They got three picks from the Pacers So they have a star young player to build around in Scotty Barnes Multiple solid role players and a hall of draft picks That’s exactly what the Bucks are looking for And now the Raptors if they were to land Giannis you can add Giannis to a core with Emanuel Quickley Brandon Ingram Oce Abbaji Yakob Podal and whoever else you keep in this trade Maybe it’s Grady Dick maybe it’s a couple other of the role players but the Raptors have the depth to build a good team around Giannis immediately And there is mutual interest so it could be a realistic possibility The East is up for grabs especially if a team in that conference makes a move for Giannis Toronto sees players they traded such as Pascal Seakum winning Eastern Conference Finals MVP and OG Anobi making a deep playoff run as well They too now want to get back to those deep runs
