Longtime Knicks fan here. Last year's team was better. They seemed hungrier last year. They seemd to take a few games off this postseason. They missed having a fulltime shot-blocking, rebounding center. There is a reason they did so much better when Robinson was in (credit to KAT for winning Game 3 though). They should never have made that trade for KAT. They needed a defensive center, not another scorer. Their bench got must weaker. Not to mention, his salary is a killter. I said it then too, it was a bad trade. As a team this postseason, they played 2-3 good games, that remind you what they are capable of – but those were the exception, not the norm.
If they can trade KAT for some picks, then swap those picks for a guy like Walker Kessler, I would be all for it. Let Anoby and/or Bridges be a secondary scorer and get a rim protecter back at the 5.
EDIT: As a Knicks fan, I HATE the Pacers, I mean I can't stand them … but they play a better brand of basketball. Everyone is involved. Their ball movement is very good and their defense was tenatious.

I seen the Knicks break my heart too many times to count but it’s still Knicks over everything and the NBA is better when the Knicks are good. People that are happy we loss are gonna be heart broken when we finally win it all and I’m love it. That being said we need a bench and Thibs ether better adapt and leave how to use a bench or he needs to be gone. We can’t even get Giannis that’s over with these are the players we are stuck with and they better learn how to play together next season. We need to he adding more depth not giving up half of our team for 1 guy.

Towns and Brunson were over rated by Knick fans.
As a Knick fan, saying KAT is the problem is incorrect. The rotation was wrong, the offensive scheme was wrong, the defensive scheme will never matter as we have 2 cones. KAT closing out a shooter isn’t what you want on defense because there is no one to rebound under the hoop. KAT is the reason this team didn’t get swept going off for 20 in the 4th game 3. The whole team including the coaching staff is to blame, Thibs had a whole summer thinking his team had Julius and DDV on the team only to be dealt KAT and not understand how he needed to use him in a 5 out offense with ball movement, instead we got Brunson pounding the air out of the ball throwing grenades. That isn’t a championship offense unless you’re MJ.
This loss is easy to explain – the NY Knickers had no talent depth. It also has several natural born losers on the team – Dumpy Brownscum who is all that in the regular season but whose talent to win big games has haunted him in every playoff year. Coach Pimpletoe is a loser in deciding games – not even close. Mouth breather Karl Puddytat is about as agile as a two wheeled Buick from the 1950's. And when it comes down to the will to win, well the Knickers are all bunched up and really not all that and a bag of chips. Someone needs to be honest with Dumpy Brownscum that that hair and that face don't ever go together.
Josh Hart DEFINITELY does not have the “it” Gio was talking about, because his horrendous play in this series is a significant reason the Knicks lost.
A few obnoxious Knicks fans act crazy and fans of other teams are throwing all kinds of insults at Knicks fans in general and even NYC. Screw them for being idiots. A couple of idiots don’t represent Knicks fans, who have been loyal to this team even with them being mediocre or bad all these years.

I'm angry and disappointed…no moral victories for me. Knicks lost this series in Game 1 with an epic choke job.
Knicks don't need a Giannis or Durant. Going forward, I hope Leon Rose follows the Pacers example…strengthen the bench with bucket-getters and some defensive stoppers. And tell the stubborn coach to develop them instead of playing the same five guys throughout the season. Also, our two biggest stars must improve defensively.

KAT needs to improve his defense but calling him a loser and downplaying his 22pts 12reb average in the playoffs is crazy. This series was lost in games 1 & 2 because Thibs played 7.5 guys the first two games against a team that thrives on volume possessions.

Gio stop kidding yourself Towns and Randle are the same caliber, the trade was even, and neither player was the solution. So what's the next experiment? Neither one of those guys will ever play winning defense. And a better coach making faster adjustments wins this series. How long did it take Thibs to realize that Cam Payne wasn't making an impact, and it was time to switch it up? It was too late by then, a better coach makes that move earlier.
Agreed with Boomer. I never realized how hated the Knicks were. Even in the Boston series, where we were the underdog, people still rooted for Boston to win. Usually it’s the other way around.
The knicks beat the defending champs and so I dont think they took the pacers seriously. They needed to play hard physical defense and shut down theyre good shooters. In your face physical shut down defense. They lost that edge after the celtics.

So yall just missed the parts where Brunson was driving to the goal in game 5. Gets fouled and crashed into the padding around the hoop. Looking all out of breath, looking around shaking his head, like damn can I get some HELP PLEASEEEE. I mean one dude can only do so much. Gotta get them role players involved in the game and get a better bench.
Seems like every time the Lakers or Knicks are playing in the postseason, the national broadcasts have succumbed to the Taylor Swift effect. I'm so relieved we won't have to see what celebrities are at the game and sitting courtside. We don't need to see multiple camera shots of these degenerate entitled pieces of shit. They have nothing to do with the team or game, plus they don't need more attention. They know nothing about life and real work with shitty pay. KAT is out of shape… anybody notice… worn down… possible with an undisclosed nagging injury… watch a game earlier in the season and he's moving much better… he faded physically down the stretch and I think psychologically too…

That is so beyond offensive that it's a bit difficult to comprehend. I understand you're upset that your team lost… and there's no doubt that in professional sports men are open to criticism but how did this make it onto the WFAN airwaves?
Many of us go through life investing our time and making connections with others who have built themselves up to be apart of successful organizations.
When our fanbase was frustrated with the actions of Carl Peterson and Clark Hunt certain actions were taken to improve the team. Focus and drive was practiced through support of actions like the hiring of Andy Reid… the signing of Alex Smith. Smith never brought us the championship that we worked for but he was treated with respect and that in turn fostered an environment that encouraged other personnel, coaches and players to actively seek to be apart of what we knew we were.
Winning championships goes beyond the owner, the starting quarterback or a top-notch point guard.
The reason why the host of this show is less of a person than I am is his own fault.
Do you not actually think things like this don't get out and influence the future of potential free agents… sponsors… potential new coaches, etc etc
If I was a fan of the New York Knicks I would do all I could to call, write, email, whatever WFAN and have this guy Gio removed permanently from the air.
I don't think he's a bad person. I don't know him and couldn't care less about what his future is. But if someone who was somehow given a microphone over the air and said this about a player on my franchise I would be livid. Not because I care about his opinion of KAT. This Gio person doesn't matter to me. But to people outside the city who pick up on these quotes you can instantly understand the perception that is made.
You are small. The team is big. You have no right to damage other men's potential of being a champion.
