the NBA stripped everything from the finals that made it feel special but luckily for us fans it’s an easy fix these games used to feel like an event we had big dramatic player intros the anthem on national TV and that iconic finals logo front and center but this year we got a generic hardwood and a score bug that makes it feel like a Tuesday night in February most casual fans wouldn’t even know the difference meanwhile the inseason tournament gets a full-blown makeover i’m talking custom painted cords a giant trophy at the center all for a mid-season experiment now Adam Silver admitted he hadn’t really noticed until fans started speaking up but now he’s open to bringing it back all we need is that finals logo with little intro for the players it’s not much to ask but it’s everything the finals are missing so NBA if you are watching this please bring it

All this may be true…but it likely wouldn't matter…the Larry O'Brien painted on the court with dramatic player intros wouldn't boost the ratings for this Finals matchup

Smallish point but fair. I think we would be complaining so, so much more, though, if in addition to the decor the hoops were also bad this year. It’s kind of like going to thanksgiving dinner where the food was excellent but you still complain about the tablecloth. Like, okay. Noted.
