NEW GIANNIS UPDATE
okay so all right i don’t know i don’t know what to say i think we should probably give up on our expectations for Oh actually I don’t think Spurs fans really have that much expectations for Giannis right i think we’re all pretty chill now um but here’s some stuff that came out recently so sources after internal discussions the Bucks plan to trade Giannis on their terms eyeing a rebuild centered on picks and prospects giannis has the Raptors Knicks Heat and Spurs on his wish list but is signaling signaling signaling oh my god signaling uh I can’t speak he won’t extend elsewhere targeting 2027 free agency so good news and bad news okay the good news is well actually I don’t know what you guys want you want the good news or the bad news but we’re going to go with the good news is the San Antonio Spurs being on this list speaks more than just this trade right like us being on all these stars list is huge it’s a big deal it’s a good thing right um and we can look towards the future because of that right so like when the Spurs are winning and we’re winning winning we’ll always be able to bring in um some star there some role player right like even getting KD if we got KD which I think we will uh KD will be more so like a he won’t be like the star of the team right that would be Wimi but um but guys can come in and they’re willing to take on certain roles uh to help the team be successful and I feel like with this right here this is just a really great um really great news for us that we’re on his list and I want us to be on every star’s list but the bad news is eyeing a rebuild centered on picks and prospects i don’t want to give up all my future i don’t want to do it now here’s apparently a 14 blockbuster trade proposed uh Bucks predicted to move Giannis and proposed 14 blockbuster trade i don’t know how credible this is um but I do want to hear hear them out on this so Bleacher reports Eric Pinkis has proposed a blockbuster 14 trade that sends Giannis to the Toronto Raptors okay um are we involved in this at all in this trade the Raptors receive Giannis Jaylen okay chicago Bulls and then meanwhile the Lakers will receive and then we receive okay so I don’t think he has us on this 14 trade wait what is he finding those NBS he references De’Arren Fox to the Spurs as a cautionary tale he added “The Spurs didn’t need to give up as much at the deadline to get De’Aran Fox uh who specifically pushed his way into San Antonio from the Sacramento Kings this is the fate the books are toying with by not uh ascend ascending acceding uh to uh I can never say anten I can never I can say Giannis antenna I think that was right um demands theoretical demands like how the Kings didn’t get rookie of the year Steph Castle and certainly not Victor Wayyama Barnes isn’t on the table uh that’s what the hall of picks is for Okay so he’s just kind of using us as a as an example um okay i mean let’s be honest though Giannis is way more valuable than Fox um but Fox is a top player in the NBA um I’m I’m just going to throw this out there so I I didn’t see this interview or this interview this article beforehand so sorry i was kind of like sloppy just kind of reading through it um but I’m going to say this i don’t see the Spurs going after Giannis at this point antenta Kmpo oh really ant and and Tenta Kmpo i’ve been saying it wrong this whole time giannis care to get Kyrie what What’s the point of getting Kyrie i don’t I don’t care to get Kyrie i get what you’re saying though like I mean Cooper flag and all but like for so you’re basically saying for Cooper cuz I I don’t me personally I don’t care for getting Kyrie so you’re basically saying for Coupe we have to give up Kellen Devin the number two pick the number 14th pick and other pick yeah i don’t know i don’t like that i don’t like that no I’m not giving up all that screw that i like Dylan Harper i’m taking Dylan Harper i could like not do any of that and just keep Dylan Harper and then use because you’ll really be able to um utilize Kell Johnson Devin Facel better than this right like if you want to trade around you can do better than I got i’ll give you Kell and Devin and our number two and our 14th for Cooper Flag i’m not doing all that right uh depth is still very important um but if I’m going to trade those two I’m going to make it worthwhile right devin Facel for KD uh Kell Johnson to move up into the draft you know like stuff like that i’m not going to do it all just for Cooper especially when Dylan Harper is really good and he’s a number one pick in any other draft like it’s not that serious you know what I mean kell and 14 for Cam all day see Caps that’s something I can get with you know what I mean like like like really utilize it in different ways spread it out a little bit i’m not that was another reason why I would hate to have to give up Devin Facel and Kell uh with the 14th for KD like if you could do Deon Facel and then a vet like Harrison Barnes you know you’re spreading it out a little bit see what we can get overall kell and 14th for Herb Jones i really like Herb Jones in the 14th i don’t know i don’t know because we need that 14th to try to get KD i would much rather try to get KD right now um using that 14th but if you can use Kel to get Herb I I’ll be I’m down with that anyways sorry um I do love you Rabbit but dang bro dang dang all right anyways moving on

Didnt want em because of cost. He's amazing for sure, but the cost would have shortened our window from a 20 year dominant team to half that if lucky.
If we need trade Harper, keep Castle, add HB and Vassell, give them 1 Atlanta pick, 2030 swap, and 12 second round picks.

KD for a package around the 14th pick is a much better deal than Giannis for a package around the 2nd pick and its not even remotely close.
If the Suns want Vassel and Barnes for KD, do It! But turn around and use KD and the 14th along with Keldon for Giannis. KD gets hurt all the time, he's not worth it.

Harper is gonna need 3 to 4 years to be a championship level starter. While i believe we need to make the playoffs to expose the young guy's flaws and build experience first before getting valuable pieces.
Honestly, trading for either KD or Giannis feels like "skipping steps". While I agree though that getting KD for the #14 pick and players could be a reasonable deal, but would that be enough to satisfy Phoenix? And I still feel the Rockets have the inside track to land KD, since they control a number of the Suns' pick.
On top of that, I would like the Spurs to use this opportunity to find out if KD will commit to sign a longer deal with the tesm that trades for him, or if he plans to be a free agent again. If it's the latter, I would favor courting him now but waiting a year and making a run for him next off-season.
The spurs need to draft a Backup center for Victor and the best player is DUKE center Khaman Maluach he played with Copper Flagg he is 7"2 needs to ad weight but he is athletic and agile Long legs wing span is crazy.. he's 20 yrs old ( I could be wrong maybe 19) but he won't get to 14th pick so you may have to move up from 14 in the top 10 or draft Maxine Raynaud or Thomas Sorber also the Spurs need to trade for the pelicans Herb Jones for anyone on the bench if we can acquire him the spurs need a 3 and D wing no 1 on the bench is capable.
Would you trade one of Castle/Harper for extra picks in a Giannis deal? Bringing KD/GA in would be costly, but there’d be no doubt about Wemby’s ascension under their wing

Back court: D’Aron Fox 🦊 and Stephon Castle 🏰 with Dylan Harper coming off the bench (For Now)… Harper may just be our starting PG when he proves himself.
Front court: Wemby 👽 and Kevin Durant with Naz Reid at Center.. unless we have a good center available at pick 14.
We can trade the 14th pick, Devin Vassell, and Barnes. I say KEEP Keldon Johnson as our high energy player off the bench who could be sixth Man. Definitely keep Sochan for his Swiss Army knife skills and Defense.
KD will definitely mentor Wemby and share his secrets with him.. while making Wemby better, as he modeled his game after KD.. and also making the whole team better with his shooting percentage and scoring ability. Not to mention his three point shooting accuracy.
Spurs are Championship contenders immediately!
Giannis is more likely to go to the Knicks, as he wants to stay in the Eastern Conference. Besides, he will cost WAY too much and wipe out all of our assets. Our GM office and El Jefe Popovich will not throw away our future dynasty team for a POSSIBLE immediate championship run, by acquiring Giannis.
