so could the New York Knicks be trading away Carl Anthony Towns to the Portland Trailblazers this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from bleacherreport.com the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Portland Trailblazers trading DeAndre Aon Matise Thybel the 11th overall draft pick in a 2032 first round pick swap to the New York Knicks for Carl Anthony Towns now in my personal opinion I I can see a world where the Knicks are going to deal Carl Anthony Towns this off seasonason is it likely probably not but could it make some sense it absolutely could and if you’re able to get back in 11th overall draft pick this year which is pretty valuable deandre Aon who in the short term a a good center replacement uh for Towns is absence matis Styel he can contribute as well coming off the bench and 2032 first round pick swap which at that point who knows what’s going to happen this is not terrible value now if you’re the Portland Trailblazers I’m a little bit concerned why they would make this deal like truthfully speaking you’re not giving up that much in theory uh for a player of Towns’s caliber so if you think Town’s going to be a long-term fit alongside uh this roster like Shaden Sharp um Anthony Fernie Simons obviously Scoot Henderson uh Jeremy Grant and the rest of this roster then yeah it makes some sense to think that uh towns could actually benefit from going out west and joining the Trailblazers as compared to where he currently is right now especially in regards to the media in New York City so if you’re the Knicks it’s an interesting trade nonetheless you’re selling a little bit lower on town so I would say that maybe in years past for example but if you want to make a change to the roster uh DeAndre Eaton in the short term not a bad player uh he could fit in pretty well actually the draft capital which if they want to flip that you know good on them if they want to keep that great for them as well who knows what’s going to happen here but uh if I had to pick a winner of this deal I would probably go with the Trailblazers because they are getting back the best player uh but honestly if you’re the New York Knicks you’re taking on some not I would say championship caliber players but if DeAndre Aton buys in maybe signs long term this could be a good move for them but as I mentioned before I think the winner of this deal is Portland but as always leave your thoughts
