Los Angeles Clippers Interested In Kevin Durant?
yo what’s going on guys And today of course we got to talk about this Kevin Durant to the Clippers rumor Let’s discuss it It’s coming from John Gambodoro Should have the tweet pop up right here And this is a guy who’s a longtime afternoon sports drive radio host in Arizona guys haven’t followed him since the Kevin Durant and Devin Booker Bradley Beal whole trio became a thing He’s been a great legendary source in this whole thing So he basically said the Clippers could be a sleeper in this team that they have several players that they could be interested in and they may or may not be reaching out to the Suns to do a deal And before we continue this video I want to hear your guys’ thoughts down below in the comments What do you think of Kevin Durant going to the Clippers Would you guys do it I think it’d be interesting He’s still a amazing amazing shooter Now albeit there are some concerns He doesn’t really play near the basket anymore And defensively he is a little bit of a liability on switches where if someone gets past him on a quick first step he’s going to get beat But I think he can be the perfect complimentary player as like the third guy with Harden or be the co-star with Harden to a Kawawaii or for any other team for that matter Now I do want to read some information right here on my handydandy phone from my colleague at hoopship.com Michael Scott And what is the report that we’re hearing right here That the Clippers are obviously going to resign James Harden after he declines his 36.35 million option They are interested in continuing that partnership and probably extending him to a deal that would have him alongside Kawaii through the 26 to 27 season Zubots is another guy that they want to keep However Norman Pal’s expiring contract is considered a valuable trade trip especially if they decide they don’t want to extend him and the team that they trade into does want to extend him as he would be a great player to include in a package for a star player Should the Clippers decide to pivot in that direction that star player could be Kevin Durant who’s still an all-star I’m just saying he might not be at the allNBA allNBA level that he consistently was for the last you know majority of his career And another noteworthy trade chip is Baon Boddonovich who’s owed 16.02 million this upcoming year and has a $16.02 million team option for the following season Basically meaning he is an expiring option and he shot 47% from the field and 43% almost from downtown after joining the Clippers in 30 games While they now could put those two salaries together which would then allow them due to the fact that Noran Powell who’s 32 years old and is making just over 20.48 million this upcoming year that gives them about $36 million And if they wanted to add more sizable salary combining Powell and Bardon Bardonovich they could look at a guy like Derrick Jones Jr who’s owed $10 million for the next season and 10.48 for the following year And theoretically the to make the math work financially that gets them to about 46 million and then they would be able to take on Kevin Durant But even if they wanted to sweeten it more they throw in Drew Eubanks or they could do some of the young guys But more than likely Drew Eubanks who’s on a non-g guaranteed 47 $4.75 million contract and is not expected a return would be the perfect trade ship to include in there because then you would be able to offer like $50 million in salary The Suns are able to basically do the deal because they are under the threshold that is required of them And if we pull this up on fans spell right here ladies and gentlemen as we’ll give you a visual aid this allows the you can sort out the draft pick compensation to whatever you believe is necessary I know there has been reports suggesting that the Suns have lowered the asking price However John Gabidoro has said that that is not true Now as we said at 54.7 it’s about $50 million in salary if you combine the affformentioned how Bogdan Bdonovich Now I had Derek Drew Eubanks my apology and Derrick Jones Jr there’s still ways to do this deal without Derrick Jones Jr involved but to get this just shown right ahead the Suns get significantly better in this deal The Clippers I think give up a lot of their depth I think if you can do a deal where you can keep Drew Eubanks that’s what I would I mean my apologies not Drew Eubanks Dererick Jones Jr it would make a lot more sense because I think Derrick Jones Jr is a huge part in this So what would you do Nick Batum’s expected to return I think because you’re trying to give up minimal draft capital and it’s not like the Clippers have a ton of draft picks to work with as this is a team that currently I would say would like to hold on as much of their picks and this is why I put Kobe Brown in there Would you throw in a guy like Cam Christie We haven’t really seen what he is I’m not giving up Jordan Miller because I think that would be preposterous And it seems like they really like Seth Lundy and Patrick Baldwin could be the next version of Steve Novak if they really want to continue going down that road So the new version of this trade which would bring them to $41.3 million is Cam Kobe Brown Cam Christie Drew Eubanks Bogdon Bdonovich and Norm Powell So in this deal the they would be able to just send over these players which I think three of them weren’t in their really considered in their rotation in Camp Christie I know it’s a developmental piece Kobe Brown who would be going into his third season and I think at this point if they really believed he was going to be a part of the who I really like Kobe Brown coming out of college and thought a lot of people were comparing him to Draymond Green which I thought was preposterous but the way people looked at Kobe Brown was similar to how they look at Colin Murray Boils right now So with that being said if they had that much faith in him they would have been playing him more Cam Christie is a really young guy Drew Green Banks would be just cut Agon Bdonovich and Norman Pal would fit next to Devin Booker and at this point what we know is that they’re trying basically Bradley Beal’s untradeable and he wants a full bout They’re still trying to figure that out So you would hopefully maybe look to add another team to take on Bradley Beal I doubt that’s the Nets There have been reports that the Wizards would be that team but this is basically the deal if they were just to do it the two of themselves which is feasible as you guys just saw So with that being said I want to hear your guys’s thoughts What do you guys think of a potential Los Angeles Clippers deal involving Kevin Durant going to the Clippers and Norman Powell and Bogdan Bogdanovic being the primary guy You get cap flexibility with Bogdon being an expiring Drew Eubanks being a non-G guaranteed deal that you can cut You can either take a Derrick Jones Jr but if I’m the Clippers I’m holding out on Derrick Jones Jr and rather trading you two young guys in Kobe Brown and Cam Christie which gives you a front court player and a wing guy who has some nice potential I’m not going to say he’s going to be exactly like his brother Max Christie But what he could be is a two-way large two guard three wing that can you know be a 3 and D guy While Kobe Brown he’s kind of more of a you know utility guy at the four spot who can be a small ball five who is able to guard three through five Now it is a lot more potential than actual said shown flashes as he’s barely gotten any run with this Clippers team But if you watch his G-League tape it has been promising at times That’s basically going to be it from me today guys I hope you guys did enjoy today’s video Like comment and subscribe
