over the weekend the New York Knicks are conducting active due diligence on Maverick’s head coach Jason Kidd among other head coaching candidates in their search to replace Tom Thibido The Knicks have yet to request permission to speak to Kidd who has two years remaining on the contract extension he signed during the Mavs run to the NBA Finals last year We’ll have Brian Winhorse my main man Wendy live from OKC a little bit later this morning with the very latest on this coaching search But bam right off the top of your head Marcus the Knicks they they make the move They are the ultimate win now team You fire your coach after going to the conference final You’re saying we need someone to win us a title Is Jason kid that someone Well my brother had the luxury of playing for Jason Kid right I But I’m going to tell you this Greeny I don’t know if his demeanor is ready for New York City right Like just the just the fact he’s a laidback coach I think I think that Texas fits him really well right like playing for the Knicks you have to have somebody that’s tough that’s know about the city that know what comes with being a New York head coach And I I just don’t know if Jason Kid is at that level right now So for me I’m I’m going just say this I would take the stance of the Boston Celtics right when they when they hired uh Eay Uduko It wasn’t the popular hire but they went and they found someone that can fit the locker room I think this is about finding guy finding a guy that the team respects and that respects the team and allows them to be them guys and be able to come in there and and and listen to adjustments and listen to them as a team But I feel like what Brad Stevens did and step down and and found somebody that was able to relate to everybody I think that’s the key Yeah And and look I mean that’s why I thought Jay Wright might have made some sense just because he has all that history with those guys at Nova over the weekend It was made clear he’s not going You played for Jay Kit Does he take the Knicks to a title Yes for sure I think he take a Knicks to a title But look if I’m Jay Kit the way that Dallas is set up right now we’re more in a win now position than being than the Knicks Obviously the Knicks had a great year but if you get Kyrie Irving back you got the number one pick with with Anthony Davis with PJ Washington and those guys you’re ready right now to win the championship And like Marcus said JK you know he played for the Knicks but he’s a laid-back guy He’s a Texas guy He’s a great coach a great father a great guy I just think like he has all his his tools in Dallas His house is in Dallas He’s been there a couple years and he’s just ready for that But to your point no way in hell am I leaving the Dallas Mavericks for the New York Knicks First off I don’t need that pressure I already got pressure on me here and I have better weapons and assets in Dallas I got Ky Yes I got Kyrie Irving I got Anthony Davis I got Klay Thompson I got PJ Washington I got the first pick in the draft We can make a move if we want to trade that or Cooper Flag is the the best utility player in this draft that can play right now for a championship window team Can I push back very hard on this The West is loaded and the East is wide open this minute Jason Tatum is seriously hurt There is no great team in the East There’s no great team you can’t get past The West is absolutely loaded and the Mavericks Is Kyrie Irving going to be healthy And when is Anthony Davis going to be healthy and ever Is the rest of that roster outstanding And the fan base is still disgusted that they traded away Luca Donic I think that the Knicks right this minute are a better situation if you’re trying to win a championship quickly with the same personel They went to the final personnel Now if you’re telling me I could be Jason K come back to New York and I’m going to get Giannis I’ll think about it Well now give me Giannis and think game one It’s the reason why SGA and company shot the ball so well from the perimeter OKC dominant in game two After game one the Pacers had swung the series odds a little bit back in their favor But now the Thunder are minus 550 again to win the series Massive favorites though still not quite as large 23 107 as we now get the vet Marcus Morris joining the program Marcus fantastic to see you SG averaging 36 points so far in this series You’ve had to go up against him How possible is it for the Pacers to at least make life tough for him the rest of this series I’m not I’m I’m not pretty sure Um it could get tough for him right He’s a poised player He plays at all three levels which makes it really extremely hard to be able to stop this guy right I think Rick Kaw is a really good coach and I think he will try to find out some interesting ways um to maybe double team center track but he’s a willing passer He sees the floor really well So I think it will be tough but um I mean you definitely have to mix up the coverages I took this game two as a chess match and kind of figured out I think that the Pacers tried to figure out what different looks they can give him But game three will be definitely interesting to see how they can slow him down just a little bit I mean he’s efficient too 36 minutes played in game two 11 of 21 from the field and he’s getting to the line a dozen times All right On the flip side of that despite his game one heroics Tyresese Hallebertton still averaging just 15 points per game so far in this series To what extent has that Thunder defense been able to contain him to a great extent The best thing about the Thunder defense right that they have a lot of different guys they can throw at them They can mix and match Aaron Wiggins Caruso Lou Dur Um they got so much size so much versatility that they can throw at him right He’s a point guard and he’s trying to beat other guards and they do a really good job of pulling in the paint and loading So um I think it’s definitely going to be tough uh for him to actually get going but Rick Carlau is a really good coach and I have to go back to that right like let’s see the interesting ways where he can get Tyrese Hallebert in his spots being able to not even just score the ball being able to make plays to where he’s affecting the game Yeah and this maybe says something about how well the Pacers have played in the postseason They failed to take a 20 series lead for the first time this postseason Marcus stand by Randy what you got Yeah I I got some good news now The Pacers heading home after their 16-point defeat in game two yesterday Indiana has had a loss by 15 or more in all four of their series this postseason and they won their next game in each of the previous three instances None of them were close by an average of 21 points per So Marcus back with you now How confident are you that the Pacers can bounce back and win game three I like this Pacers team at home right And this is the reason why obviously they played better at home but they’re in front of their home crowd They did what they needed to do honestly in OKC by winning that first game right I would like to see Tyreek Hollra to have a better game uh going into game three and I think that he really needs this as a statement game This game right here to me will decide the series and give the one up Um Indiana’s been playing really good at home but OKC is a really good team I felt like they kind of found their footing in game two So this is definitely be very interesting but if you had to ask me I would go with
