LSU vs West Virginia Game 1 Recap | Super Regional Showdown Highlights & Analysis

hey hey hey man what is going on goose here goose sports here and hey man LSU West Virginia game one recap as it uh as LSU really pounded out some really big hits in this in this baseball game as uh as when we go over it you’re going to see that LSU really didn’t pitch well but uh they got some really big hits in this baseball game and a lot of big runs i mean big runs i mean like two grand slams and a three-run home run uh to win this game 16-9 a lot of lot of scoring in this game as we’ll go over it all as like I said Kate Anderson didn’t have his best today but uh the bats came alive today for LSU the bats have been really really uh you know hit or miss for LSU this season especially at times when uh when we need those big hits and we couldn’t get them but today we got those hits as like I said we got two grand slams and a three-run home run lsu was able to win 16 to9 in this game one of this Baton Rouge Super Regional so Kate Anderson got the start for the day went seven innings nine hits gave up seven runs six earned shook out seven walk two uh so it really was probably his you know if you if you go by the stats probably his worst outing of the season with the six runs given up then you had DJ Primu came in for a third of an inning uh gave up but uh I think did he get an out i think he walked somebody i don’t think he even got an out but then William Schmidt came in pitched two 23 of inning gave up a run I’m sorry gave up two runs walked two struck out uh walked two struck out zero but gave up a hit then Maverick Rosie came in for the last minute gave up a hit and no run so yeah William William Schmidt struggled a little bit and uh Keat Anderson struggled a bit for LSU today over for West Virginia the starter was Griffin Griffin Kern i thought they I thought they took him out a little bit too early that’s just in my opinion because when they took him out the game was 3 to one they brought in the bull and they brought in the bullpen and it just exploded the game just kind of exploded in LSU’s favor and they got up 10 to one but uh yeah I don’t know i just I just thought that was a really I don’t know i don’t know anyway so Griffin Kern got the start for West Virginia four innings two hits four runs they all were earned shuck out three walked one then you had uh Glass Glasscock uh didn’t get didn’t get an out he up two runs walked two then you had uh Burman gave up three runs then you had Hudson gave up three runs then you had Lyman gave up four runs for West Virginia so you had one two three you had four uh relievers in a row that gave up uh at least two runs for West Virginia so I I I don’t know uh I don’t know if there was just uh going by the stats few of those guys hadn’t pitched much this season so I don’t know what the uh thought process was by the manager but it backfired tremendously for West Virginia lsu was able to get it to a 10 a 10-1 lead and then they were able to hold on and win 16 to9 so West Virginia started off the uh scoring as they had an RBI ground out in the second it led to one- nothing then in the fourth inning is when Curielle homered to left field to make it 3-1 then Mil had a grand slam to make it seven to one in the fifth curiel single make it 8-1 stanfield singled scored two in the fifth they made it 10-1 looked like LSU was on their way but then West Virginia then West Virginia battle back a little bit in that sixth inning as uh King singled scored a run swain single scored a run and then Kesler Yeah Kessler singled I’m sorry reach on the fielder’s choice and scored a run made it 10 made it 10 to5 and LSU came back in the six and they scored some and they scored uh six runs in the sixth inning as Couri walked scored a run Larson walked scored a run then Pearson hit a grand slam home run made it 16 to five then in the seventh Kelly homerred for West Virginia and then in uh In the ninth they had a two-run home run by West make it 16 to9 and that was the uh that was the final margin that was the final scoring in the game so 16 to9 was the final score as uh Josh Pearson was two for five with four RBI’s then you had Ethan Fry was 0 for four really struggled today garrett Jones one for four he struggled uh Milm was uh one for one for three that one was a big uh a big one as that was a four for that was a uh a grand slam he had four RBI’s uh Lewis Hernandez was 0 for two but he scored three times ambidi was 0 for one dickinson was 0 for two he also scored three times curiel was three for three scored three times had five RBI who says he can’t hit left-handed left-handed pitching brazwell was 0 for two and uh Brown was 0 for one stanfield was one for four for LSU and over for West Virginia you had Guzman was one for five suave was over for four kyle West was two for five with two RBI’s sam White was three for five with uh he had three runs scored then you had Gavin Kelly he had three for four with two RBI’s skyler King was uh one for four with two RBI’s jace Reinhardt was over for over for two but he but he had an RBI and uh Chase Swain was one for one he pinched it he had an RBI and that was uh that should be it for West Virginia it is all right so LSU wins 16 to9 game two is going to be tomorrow believe it’s at 5 i believe it’s 5:00 local time uh so I believe that’s I believe that’s the time it is uh we’ll see if LSU can win anthony Einson’s going to be on the mound for LSU here see who um don’t know who West Virginia is going to start i know Anthony I know Anthony Einson is going to be on the mound for LSU and you can argue is he better than Kate Anderson i think those guys really really neck and neck as who’s the best pitcher on the on the staff but I think this is going to be a good opportunity opportunity for LSU to get a get a uh a twoame sweep over West Virginia uh but we’ll see you know like I said Anderson just Anderson didn’t pitch well today if you go by his stats get a lot of runs lsu was able to get some timely hits finally timely hits there’s been many times throughout the season where we got guys on base and we couldn’t get that big hit so we got two grand slams and a three-run home run today able to win 16 to nine you guys have a good one and we’ll see you guys next video man go Tigers
