keep you updated right here on the channel so if you are not already be sure to hit that sub button and turn on your notifications so you never miss an upload and let’s just get right into it because really over the past 24 hours or so we’ve been hearing many different reports and a lot of different speculation regarding the Sixers trading down and teams calling Philadelphia to move up to number three overall first yesterday on Sunday we had this report from Keith Pompei of the Philadelphia Inquirer from the local angle here saying that there’s multiple NBA teams conducting quote heavy research on the possibility of trading up with the Sixers to number three overall this is what Keith had to say exactly teams are still pondering what the Sixers will do regardless of what Mory states publicly some league executives believe tradeback talks could occ could could occur before the draft one executive said a couple of teams behind the Sixers in the draft are doing heavy research on the possibility of moving up to number three and this isn’t a surprise of course with a team like the Sixers and the position they’re in with more of a win now roster it makes sense that other teams would be looking at them from the outside as a potential tradeback candidate now if you’ve been watching the show really for the past month or so you know where I stand i do not want the Sixers to trade back i want them to stick and pick at number three and there’s a few reasons why I feel this way one I’m a very big Ace Bailey fan i know it’s very polarizing people are very split on Ace Bailey as a prospect does he have the tools to succeed at the next level or are his deficiencies really going to hold him back from playing smart basketball from playing team basketball for me personally I’m a fan of the length the size even though he’s not 6’10” like everyone says he’s still 67 6’8 with shoes on still going to fly in the NBA and with his long arms and his shot making ability even though he doesn’t create a lot of separation off the dribble and does struggle to get to the rim sometimes I think his potential what he could be cuz a lot of these prospects there’s no guarantee that any of these guys reach their potential right so if I’m at number three I want to take a swing for that upside and I think Ace Bailey absolutely has that upside but regardless of whether you’re an Ace Bailey guy or you are a VJ Edgecomb guy I think most fans would agree that you’d rather just pick one of those guys at number three than trade farther down the board and not get either of those two now the argument could be on the flip side for people that want to trade down that the East is definitely going to be weaker this year right we have seen with the Jason Tatum injury in Boston looking to save some money and trade away some players like Chris Eps porzingis and Drew Holiday with a Damen Lillard injury in Milwaukee and the uncertain future of Giannis Ant Dumpo the East really wide open next year obviously you have the Pacers you have the Knicks you have the Cavs who there’s been some trade rumors around them with Darius Garland there’s no true like bonafide this team’s going to win the East next year so Philadelphia does have a shot entering next season to be right back in the thick of things in the NBA playoffs and you could trade down to a team like the Nets or the Pelicans and still get a pick in the top 10 and also add a player that can help you right now the thing to me though is that it all depends on Joel Embiid anyways right if Joel Embiid’s not healthy this team doesn’t have a shot and if he’s not healthy and playing maybe not at an MVP level but at a high enough level where this team can compete then it really doesn’t matter if he’s not on the floor so I’d rather still take a guy at number three that you think can have long-term star upside thinking beyond Joel Embiid and Paul George and I think Ace Bailey can do that and also for the Sixers the reason another reason I’d make the pick at three and not consider a trade down how likely is it they’re going to be in this situation again next season because they kept their pick this year right their pick next year goes down to top four protected so if it doesn’t finish one two three or four in the draft it’s going to go to Oklahoma City and I strongly bet the Sixers are not going to be another bottom feeding team next year even you know with everything they dealt with this past season it’s hard for me to say that they won’t be much better going into next year so they’re probably going to lose the pick even moving forward like would the roster and the core they have even if Paul George and Joel Embiid are not there are they really going to have another opportunity to pick at top three in a draft like this i don’t think so it’s a very unique opportunity for a contending team and I would take advantage of that opportunity by taking a player who at number three overall could have real star upside and you can start thinking about your future and that future core with Tyrese Maxi with Jared McCain with Quinton Grimes and then whoever else you pick at number three but again it does make sense that other teams would look at Philadelphia and say “Man if we give up a rotation player here that could make an impact for them and then we give them our pick maybe we can jump up to number three.” But the fact that these teams are looking to trade up just makes me feel even more confident about Philadelphia picking at number three because other teams like the prospects there in that range so if I’m Philly you know it all depends where Daryl my Sixers front office has all the have all these different prospects where they’re ranked in relation to each other do they see a big gap between the third and the seventh best prospect to me there’s a pretty decent gap there but you know Deory and the people in the Philadelphia front office maybe they don’t see as big of a gap between those prospects and they think trading down could be of value so that was on Sunday moy rep or um Keith Pompei reporting excuse me that teams are doing heavy research into trading up with Philadelphia and then today we get Kevin O’Connor of Yahoo Sports on the Kevin Oconor show saying that the New Orleans Pelicans who hold the seventh overall pick like Ace Bailey as a prospect and could attempt to trade up with the Sixers to acquire the third overall pick to guarantee them a shot at Ace Bailey kevin Oconor saying “I’ve heard the Pelicans at number seven like Ace Bailey joe Dumar is there sounds like he really likes Ace Bailey could try to trade up to number three to Philly or number four with Charlotte.” That to me is the best case scenario for the Sixers is you trade down four spots so Kevin Oconor here saying he thinks Philadelphia should look to trade down and New Orleans is a team that could move up so I’ll say this now in regards to trading down you know where I stand I wouldn’t do it but if the Sixers do want to go that route they want to go the trade down route and they’re kind of have made their mind up that they’re looking to go in that direction for this organization to try to compete more heading into next season and the Pelicans are the team that they’re looking at i’m asking for either Trey Murphy or I’m asking for Herb Jones i think Herb Jones is more likely on a cheaper contract and Trey Murphy probably the better player although Herb Jones we talked about on the show before an all world defender when he’s healthy he is an allNBA defensive type of guy we’ve seen the impact somebody like Alex Caruso has had for the Oklahoma City Thunder i think Herb Jones can have that exact same kind of impact and he was really growing his game offensively before his injury this year and again he’s team controlled for the next couple of years and he’s on a very cheap contract so if Philly could convince New Orleans to give up Herb Jones who previous to now really has been an untouchable kind of player for the Pelicans someone they have not been looking to trade away but they’ve got some new ownership some new front office people in there that might be more likely to shake things up around Zion and that core you go get Ace Bailey if you’re the Pelicans you trade up you send out Herb Jones to Philadelphia and the Sixers still have the seventh overall pick and then get a pretty good prospect i also think the Nets are a team to look out for even though Kevin Oconor here reporting the Pelicans the Nets are believe at number eight as well and you know they’re a team with Cam Johnson on the roster obviously you could figure out a way to get Cam Johnson to Philadelphia and then nor the Nets move up Sixers move back and then the Sixers obviously would be in a position to still draft a pretty good prospect let me just confirm here where the Nets are in the draft believe they’re either number six or they’re number eight um yes the Nets will be picking at number eight i was correct on that so that 78 range you trade down you get either Herb Jones from the Pelicans or Tren Murphy or Cam Johnson from the Brooklyn Nets then who do you who are you looking at um in that area as a potential draft prospect for the Sixers because obviously you’re missing out on guy like Ace Bailey bj Hedgecome is not going to slide there i’m really looking at Kenupal the guard/wing from Duke as probably the ideal fit for Philadelphia if you ask a lot of scouts and draft people around the NBA in general they’ll say you know outside of Cooper Flag obviously Khan Canipple might be the most NBA ready guy right now he is a fantastic fantastic three-point shooter something the Sixers desperately struggled in last year but he’s also underrated in other aspects of his game can really be a secondary playmaker who can run some pick and rolls he can be a connective passer he’s going to play hard he’s going to play smart and he just fits into a winning basketball culture and if the Sixers are trading back and saying “Hey we’re going to go for it next year with this weaker Eastern Conference.” That makes a lot of sense to me to be the pick now he has his questions longterm what is his true upside can he hang on the defensive side of the ball it’s not my perfect prospect by any means there’s a reason he’s not really going to probably be in consideration go top three or top five although there’s been some talk of him sneaking in the top five khan Canipple would be my pick you also got to consider come on Malawatch as well some of the Sixers have reportedly been been linked to at least a little bit if they do feel okay getting that win now prospect or win now player I should say in the trade back from either the Nets or the Pelicans maybe they decide hey we got our win now rotation player let’s think a little more long term with a center behind Joel Embiid if things do go ary we can get these super talented Kaman Maj who’s just barely scratching the surface of who he is as a prospect and some people are even comparing him to a young Joel Embiid i wouldn’t go that far i think his game is much more unrefined even than than Embiid was at the time who was also pretty unrefined but the defensive skill set is super tantalizing with what he can do guarding the rim the rebounding numbers didn’t look great but he was asked to guard the perimeter a lot which is something he’s pretty decent at as well so really as a defender just a tremendous prospect and offensively really just a lob threat at this point but he’s shown in the past a pretty decent looking jumper i’d be pretty surprised though if that does become a part of his long-term offensive skill set so the Sixers going to have a pretty big decision to make come NBA draft time do they stick and pick do they trade away and trade down no matter what I expect them to stay in the top 10 of this draft if they do trade away I do not expect them to trade away the pick for someone like a Lori Markin or a Kevin Durant or even a Giannis i think they want to keep and stick and pick a prospect they’ve said as much and it’s been reported that they want to add a young talented player to this roster and they can still do that by trading down even though it’s not the route I would go so you guys let me know what would you do what do you want the Sixers to do trade down or stick and pick let me know in the comments section and of course if you are not be sure to hit that sub button and we’ll see you tomorrow right here on 76ers Now [Music]

Unless this trade is a damn windfall,it damn well better not happen.
JOEL WILL NEVER BE "HEALTHY"
Just take aceeee simple
Ace "can't create off the dribble and struggles to get to the rim" this is why he is going to be over matched at SF, and he's not really anything special as a athlete just good, average for what you would expect. Ace will probably have a career in the NBA, its a place for a player with his shooting, but he is not a superstar, Tre has more potential for this, than him. Only knock on Tre is defense and passing, getting others involved.. he played on a bad team, no amount of defense he played would have mattered and also, he was a lottery pick he didn't need it.
Trade down for Queen or Danny Wolf.
I like Ace and VJ, but I really don't get why people are so down on VJ's upside, he has a lot of tools to work with and this team has Rico Hines, if this team can develop a player like VJ similarly to how they developed Maxey, with all the tools that VJ already has, with NBA spacing, look out, and good luck to anyone trying to stop VJ and Maxey in transition, or in the half court sets with how both players like to get down hill with the actions starting about 3 steps behind the 3 point line
All you guys are full of shit. It's a rare opportunity to pick #3, and you simply take the #3 player and hope for the best. That's all you can do. Don't trade it away. Don't trade down. Don't trade AT ALL. You take the #3 player with the #3 pick. Not shut the fck up about it- we are sick of hearing about it.
Trade a potential star for role players nice lol 😂
This guy is horrible 😂
🤢
Ace Bailey is not that Guy my Dude. Derrick Bodner said he's a terrible passer and his Court Vision isn't great. Trade back to 5 get Tre Johnson
They will give you Herb Jones and he's on a better affordable Contract
I definitely like the idea of trading down and getting a Herb Jones or Cam Johnson and still keeping a top 6-8 pick!! You’re getting rid of players we don’t need anymore (Drummond, Gordon) getting a proven player and still getting a great pick (KK is who I’d like)
Grab Derik Queen at #7 or #8
Trade with the Jazz. PG, Bona, and Drummond with the 3rd pick for Markennan, Kessler and Clarkson with the 21st pick. Then acquire Aldama in free agency. Size and shooting and quality back ups on the front line.
Unless the 76ers Ownership and Management are a bunch of Morons, they know now whether Geriatric George and No Knees Embiid are capable of making one last hurrah this coming season. So they must have a strategy based on Embiid and George's. rehabilitation progress. Bottom line is that next year's draft class is forecasted to be much deeper than this year's so unless Morey and most importantly Josh Harris believes we have to win now, than I look to trade Embiid and George for multiple first round picks in next years draft and get Maxey and McCain on board with improving their team game and defense … trying lots of different things … but not winning.
