Former Mavs Coach Don Nelson had SOME WORDS About the Luka Doncic Trade #mavericks

and Luca too uh my dear friend as a matter of fact I want everybody to know I’m wearing Luca’s shoes his new shoes uh from Nike just just got on the market and I’m wearing them in protest for the trade from Dallas i think it was a tremendous mistake by the Dallas franchise to trade him and uh I want to I want everybody to know that it will not die it will not die this is Don Nelson former coach of the Dallas Mavericks yes he’s the father of Donnie Nelson who is the former GM while Rick Carile was the coach of the time at the MA of the Mavericks and Don Nelson is getting the Chuck Daily Lifetime Achievement Award here and Rick Carile is the head of the coaches association and so he’s always part of these you know events and award ceremonies and things like that but the fact that Don Nelson who has been hanging out in Hawaii he has a plot of land in Hawaii and he talks about smoking weed a lot over there he’s just been hanging out doing his own thing comes out and the first like public thing he does is to just denounce the Luca trade and to say I’m wearing his shoes in protest of this and I don’t know that he’s a big sneaker head he said that Luca’s shoes are Nike they’re actually Jordan which I guess is under the Nike brand but still the fact that he would come out and say this is just another it this trade just will not die it absolutely will not because it was one of the craziest trade craziest moves we’ve ever seen and then to top it all off Rick Carl with the evil laugh okay i just every time I hear it it cracks me up because you know that Rick Carl is looking at this going “This is the guy you replaced me and Donnie Nelson with Nico Harrison and Jason Kidd Mark Cuban there you go that’s what you get for moving on from competent people.” And that’s what Rick Carile is thinking but oh my gosh this thing just will not

  1. All-time embarrassing moment for this franchise. The trade will always loom over everything mavericks until Luka retires.

  2. Someone should have asked him what he thought of AD, Flagg and Max Christie……and how valuable
LA’s 2029 #1 pick will be. And was Luka worth 70/M a year. This trade will be examined in detail for decades.

  3. Fuxk No it won’t die , they had a diamond player that actually gave a crap about the city of Dallas and connected with multiple races of the community. Now I gotta head to LA and change up colors and cheer him on there šŸŽ‰ ā¤ Luka ain’t nothing wrong with your weight but more power to ya if ya become even better for it and helps you mentally, keep proving the world you are amazing šŸ€ 🌟 I know you will win multiple rings champ šŸ¤©šŸ˜Ž.

  4. Wahhhh wahhhh the grown man I like got traded to another basketball team. Would we be having this conversation if Luka took his conditioning seriously? We have cooper Flagg who will average 30 in less than 3 seasons & who will also play excellent defense on the opposing team’s best player. Turned Luka into two elite 2-way players (if it’s true that the league gifted the pick). We missed the playoffs entirely with Luka leading the team in 2023, then when our GM bolstered the roster we went to the finals. If we had a fully healthy team we would’ve at least gotten into the first round. Now add cooper Flagg to the mix who’s considered the best freshman ever at duke.

  5. Fact is Don isn’t credible to me after coaching warriors to beat us in 07 in playoffs. I lost all my respect for him then so what he says now is irrelevant. Luka is gone now. Get over it. He’s not coming back. Time to brush this away instead of just being bitter. I didn’t like it just as much as others but chose to move on.

  6. Luka's MTD (mixed team defense) is better than 92% of the league's. This statistic takes into account STL: 1.7, BLK: 0.4, DREB: 7.3, and Team defensive efficiency: 112.5. It is a player's true defensive impact, and Luka is way above average.

  7. Luka first 6 years — 5 first team NBA, 5 all-stars, 2 WCF, 1 finals, literally set an historic playoff record that has never been done before.

  8. Nick, im gettin tired of this crap man, its done lets move on…its funny to me how we just ignore the fact that there are 2 former great mav coaches here, and although one is protesting, lets not forgeþ how rick left under strangely alienated circumstances, and it obviously had alot to do with luka and his being handed the keys to the kigdom despite carlisle bringing the first title to dallas, and now here he is again with a different team in the finals a year after the mavs got beat down by boston who hunted lukas slow butt all over the floor!
So maybe all this cryin n moaning all the mavs media outlets are doing….its doing nothing but sending a msg to current players that they dont matter even tho nothing is going to change what already is!!!

  9. The trade will not die because people continue to talk about it that’s why Nick it’s been four months why keep thinking about it and talking about it what’s done is done nothing is going to change move on, respect to Don Nelson and his family, but that was uncalled for honestly we’re at the end of the season. It’s the NBA finals let the trade rest if he would’ve said this when it happened fine but not right now some of us are trying to moving on looking for the positive while others such as yourself are still in their feelings about a grown ass man who got traded

  10. I died as a long time Mavs fan when Nico traded Luka. Now NBA seems nothing to me. Hell you don't even see Dirk in a Mavs game anymore. I'm just glad I watched Dirk and Luka in their entire Mavs lifetime.

  11. Don Nelson and Carlisle are both legends. I respect Jason Kidd as a player but I preferred Carlisle as a coach.
