Watch out NBA! This May Be UNSTOPPABLE!?

last night’s incredible game one of the NBA finals especially the fourth quarter got me thinking Spurs fans that maybe just maybe these three guys could share the court together and it’ll work what is up San Antonio Spurs fans welcome to TSR Sports TGIF and there’s been a lot of talk about the Spurs second overall pick are they going to trade it are they going to draft Dylan Harper what about the fit in last night’s game it really got me thinking it really did this is the Indiana Pacers miles Turner one of the best players on the team only played six and a half minutes in the fourth quarter then when you drop down to the Oklahoma City Thunder Chad Hogram played even less 4 minutes and 20 seconds yeah Hartinstein was out there at times but what really stood out in that game last night besides the incredible comeback by the Pacers who only led.3 seconds of the game the last.3 seconds is in the last three minutes both teams pulled their centers both teams went small ball which we’ve seen both teams do before but these are the teams in the NBA finals is that kind of a winning formula going smallish and I asked myself watching that game do our Spurs have something similar brewing well yes and no where I do see a big difference is I don’t see our San Antonio Spurs pulling Wendy at the end of the game the alien’s going to stay out there he can do incredible things on both sides of the court he’s a 7 foot six seven three-point shooting monster he’s staying out there but these three guys Fox at the one Harper at the two Castle at the three does that work it gives us three ball handlers gives us decent size not a huge team but I’ll agree some of you have said TSR Castle can play small forward you can play to three if needed like he’s 66 215 he’s not a small guy you look at other threes in the league they’re similarly sized some even a little lighter okay we have decent enough size you have three guys that can score in the paint however this is a big issue is the shooting you look at our three-point shoot the three-point shooting for these three guys leaves a lot to be desired darren Fox is a lifetime 33% three-point shooter stefon Castle in his rookie year with the Spurs shot just under 29% and Dylan Harper his one year in college shot 33% and when you compare these three guys to some of the players on the the two teams in the finals it’s Apples and Oranges the Pacers have some snipers nmith 43% seakum and Hallebertton right around 39% look at the Thunder dort 41% jdubs about 40% sga just under 38% those guys could shoot r3 amigos here it could work i do think it could work the more I think about it but they have to improve their three-point shooting and I’ll give you a warning there’s going to be a lot of coming up but I’m going to be optimistic and hope things work out for our guys darren Fox hit 37% of his three-point shots the previous season needs to be that guy again needs to be 37% or better not the 31% that he was this year castle and Harper that’s going to be the Giant question mark if they can and this is asking a lot but if they can be around 37% three-point shooters this season that’s again asking a lot from a rookie with Harper and that’s a big jump for Castle castle is putting in the work with the guard whisperer somebody that worked with SGA the current league MVP i have faith Castle is going to put in the work if he can both just get to a little bit above average that’s all we’re asking that opens the floor so much for our guys and I know a lot of folks are going to be watching like TSR why are we talking about three-point shooting and I’m so tired of talking about three-point shooting to unlock maximum Wembley we need people that can space the floor the last two years I’ve watched every game with WBY in them and too many times you see a defender sag off of Jeremy Sohan or Stefon Castle and just leave them open and double team WBY or at times we’ve seen Webby triple teamed if we want to unleash MVP level Wemby he needs room to operate unless he’s firing off threes and just he’s just going to walk up and do his running three or you know just take a shot 10 feet behind the line whatever it is but if he’s going to do work do some work in the paint or around the paint in the post whatever it is he needs room to operate and for that to work these three guys are going to have to work on their shooting i know they can score in the paint great that’s awesome castle is a turning into a free throw merchant and he’s working with the guy that trained SGA so that’s only his free throw attempts probably only going to increase and having three guys that can handle the ball not a bad thing defensively will this work you know defensive player of the year likely next season he plays at least 65 games castle shown he has some defensive chops box not the greatest defender but he has led the league in steals so that is something and then Harper two to determine how his game translates into the NBA so okay we got WBY we got these the three amigos I guess that’s what I’m calling them the three amigos you know all All right the last question though is who plays at the four to finish this piece of the puzzle i think we really need a stretch for that can sling some Dean and I’d like it to be Jeremy Sohan however we’ve already talked about the three guards that need to work on their three-point shooting and it’s not a guarantee all three will be 37% or better next season might be none of them god I hope not so just be 35% and he’s putting in the work there’s videos about there out him videos of him out there working on his three-point shot and the hitch at least right now is gone will it be gone in the actual regular season when people are watching that will be determined but his three-point shot does look better if he can be average I think we’re set yes it’ be a little bit a small team we have the Giant with Wy that’s 7 foot six or seven it would be a little smallish but we’ve seen so play against centers so maybe that is our lineup or maybe it’s not Jeremy maybe it’s Carter Bryant maybe it’s Rasheed Fleming maybe it’s not a draft pick maybe it’s Kevin Durant i don’t know i just I really feel like Spurs fans that we’re building something special right now it’s just it’s incomplete and all signs point to the Spurs drafting Dylan Harper and if these three can start that is awesome i I love it but uh I certainly have question marks and the shooting is absolutely the biggest one and will we be strong enough defensively because Pacers Thunder play some strong defensive thunder i think we’re one of if not the best defensive teams in the league so let’s asking a lot of these guys this is going to be uh I want to close up with this is going to be maybe the most crucial offseason we’ve had since this channel start when I take a look at what we have going on we’ve got a point guard and Darren Fox that’s set to get a huge contract extension is he going to be worth the amount of money that’s going to be required to extend his contract i don’t know he’s probably going to get it but you know the last year of his contract is going to be what 55 million it’s it’s going to be a huge contract then there’s the lottery we have picks two and 14 are we going to draft two players harper seems like a lock at two but what if the Spurs do trade down trade down from two to six or eight or whatever it may be and then just trades in general what is going to happen spurs fans we’re getting beat over the head with rumors and the three that are coming out the most or there’s four now kevin Durant I think is the one that’s most likely to happen because he’s on a two-year contract and the Suns have really no leverage right now they they’re blowing everything up i don’t think they’re in a great uh um bartering position if you will bartering you know what I mean they’re not in a great position right now to ask for a whole ton for K Katie as far as I can tell after that I would say Giannis is next then maybe Lowry Markin but Angel’s going to want way too much and then there’s rumors about Jaylen Brown we’ve already already covered on the channel his contract is massive i don’t see any way the Spurs bring him over here so what’s going to happen with trades and then this of course is free agencies as well free agents will the Spurs sign anybody can we get the dancing bear gershan Yabiselli what happens to free agency such a crucial offseason spurs fans we have options but in the end and I’m glad it’s not going to fall on my shoulder i’m just a guy that just guy that loves the Spurs brian Wright is really going to determine if we’re a playoff team or a playoff bust over the next few seasons this is going to be his biggest offseason with signing with trades with the draft he’s got to be Brian right on this one because if he’s Brian wrong in a few things that could really set the franchise back i’m rooting for him to nail this one harper at two you know if we go young Harper and then Fleming I’m not really sold on Bryant but Fleming Bryant whatever at 14 and whatever we do at 38 and it’s you know if we do do end up trading what seems to be the trade scenario I’m seeing from tons of websites is Bell and then either KJ or HB plus a 14th pick and throw another player in there i don’t know Brandon whatever just to get out of that contract they bring Kevin Durant so be it durant would obviously start at the four that would give us a lot of shooting in the front court with Wayne Durant but question marks in the back court um I don’t know i I just know I’m excited and I can’t wait for the draft to get here it’s what 19 days away the rumor bill is going to be flying around left and right on things and it’ll quiet up a little bit once the draft is here but then we’re going to have rumors after that no matter what happens I’m going to be rooting for the team if Kevin Durant rant’s a spur I’m not the biggest fan of Katie i’m going to root for him he’s wearing silver and black are you rooting for this guy right above me if he becomes a spur and whatever else happens i just hope that it’s I hope it’s the right moves Brian right i’m counting on you and and I’m going to enjoy this roller coaster with you guys i love talking Spurs with you guys um I live in Connecticut for those that don’t know so there’s very very few Spurs fans so sure getting views on the channel is nice making a little money on the side is nice but getting to talk about something I love with people that love them as well whether we agree or disagree on the direction is really a blessing and I thank you guys for that and that’s all I got so you know like comment subscribe do you think guys do you you know what I talked about today do you think we’re building something great do you think these three guys can start or you like TSR no too small not going to work the league’s going big even though the teams that went big are you know all bigs are no longer in the playoffs we got teams running small ball especially in the last three minutes of the game which to me was a shocker that Chad Hogram was not on the floor i I was really just and Miles Turner the fact that Turner and Hogram were not on the floor in the last three minutes except for the last couple sec last.3 seconds when there was an alleyoop you know catch and shoot or catch and tipping type scenario i I really sat there was like is this the direction of the NBA and is this the direction we’re going i appreciate you all till next time and as always go Spurs go cuz the giants

The Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder both went small in the last 3 minutes of Game 1 of the NBA finals. Could the Spurs replicate that type of success in the future?

  1. Might be getting ahead of myself and rebounding could still be an issue. IF Castle and Harper develop into the players we think they can be plus Wemby, a title may not be that far away. Or my Spurs goggles are on too tight! Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

  2. Hey Rich I know as Spurs fans we want shooters and 3pt percentage to go up. But what about defense, when Wemby was not on the floor we had trouble defending and loosing leads. The two Finals teams have been great defensively

  4. They don’t have to play at the same time. Both the Pacers and OKC have depth. Winning at the highest level in the NBA requires depth. You need depth so the other team never gets a break and you need depth because players are going to get hurt and you need to have someone who can step in.

If the price is right, I don’t hate a KD trade; I do hate a Giannis trade because that would require mortgaging SA’s future. And I know I have said it before, but I don’t care: SA doesn’t need stars, just key role players. Look at OKC and the Pacers and you see a lot of good, key role players.

Most teams can only afford one star and a bunch of role players. One of the reasons why I don’t hate a KD trade is because SA could steal him (ie get him cheap) and by the time Wemby needs to get paid, KD is either gone or can be signed at a reduced price. The other reasons is that KD provides the offense that SA currently lacks and gives you time to see if Sochan or Castle or Harper can develop an outside shot. But even with KD, SA needs a big to spell Wemby.

  5. The spurs always make adjustments. Adding Harper could force the spurs to play the beautiful game 2014 again. What teams can then be fast enough And good enough to guard our three headed monster. Then wemby speed and agility. The beautiful game II.

  6. I'd rather have you making the moves, then Brain Wright. These are the same people that hired Mitch Johnson.

  7. Someone mentioned rebounds. Watching a breakdown of the Pacers offense, they don't rely on that as much as quickly passing the ball up the court after an opponent made shot. This is where Dylan Harper excels.

  8. I don't think Harper going start next year, just like Castle become starter after Fox injury.

  9. Youre asking alot of a rookie
But if youre comparing slight differences in shooting percentage
You cant draft on what theyre doing now

You have to draft on what they could be

Last time they really needed a defensive minded wing is bc bowem was retiring
So they traded up to trade the pacers pick

They were waiting to see where kwahi would land as soon as Indiana picjed him spurs called

    Draftinh a 3 n d player w lil to no offensive ability

One of the best small forwards in
    Nba history

  10. Harper at #2, Wemby’s close friend Noa Essengue at #14, and Maxime Raynaud at #38. Unfortunately, both Essengue and Raynaud have risen significantly in recent mock drafts.

So take Harper at #2 and best available at #14 & #38 and sign Steven Adams/Luke Kornet and Malik Beasley

  11. I just don’t want to give up everything did Gianni’s bc that’s not worth it to me, and I think Briwn would be a huge mistake for what they’re supposed to give up to be able to pay him, seems like a stupid idea that would be harmful. Basically trading picks and young stars on good contracts to have the Celtics problem. Big pass on that!

  12. Question is, can we keep Castle, Harper and get KD? If there is any universe where that is possible. WE SET BRUH

  13. Dort shot 29.7% from three in his rookie season, SGA 36.7%, Caruso 30.2%, and Nembhard shot 35%. Haliburton and Jaylin Williams were both above 40% in their rookie years. Castle and Harper can grow and Fox will enjoy much better spacing. Also, this lineup will be best served with a stretch four on the court.

  14. The dumbest worry in the NBA is 3pt%!!! Most players shoot less than 200 3pt attempts per year…that means the difference between Elite and Trash is less than 10 made shots per Season. 33 of 100 is bad but 38 of 100 is Great…such a stupid argument!!!

  15. great content as usual TSR. You can make a case Siakam has been the best player in the playoffs. At 6'9" he's such a miss match .Could we trade for him ?

  16. Castle need to be able to defend. They say he can defend. We have seen him getting a few interceptions. I think Castle may have the green light to shoot at will for his Rookie of the year award, so some shots didn't went in. He is not afraid to shoot, didn't defer. I think the team need him to defend some guards, SGA is very fast. Castle may not be fast enough. Nobody could stop SGA, but maybe try to deny some shots. Harper's defense ability is an unknown to me. He probably made a name in college plus his pedigree. Next the Spurs need another defensive player, rebounder at power forward. It is not known if Sochan can stay healthy for long stretches. Offense is a plus but with Wembanyama shooting at will, there must be rebounders at the 3 and 4 positions.

  17. Remember, Wemby shoots a lot of 3's and he can become more deadly with it; soon. When Wemby misses a 3, he can easily transition to protect the rim on defense. But the Spurs do need players who are deadly 3-point shooters playing off of him, like Duncan did.

  18. All three guards can get to their spots and get down hill any time they want. I think they will space the floor well, especially if the Spurs have a motion offense. I definitely think all three can play off Wemby in a pick and roll. We need my boy Mamu to fill the four spot, he’s the key!

  19. My issue with the three guard and Wemby lineup is not as much as it is strength. If we have three guards and Wemby out there, other teams are just gonna muscle us seems like Denver teams like Milwaukee and the Celtics. Those are big teams that are tough.

  20. The thing is OKC lacks experience. Remind U this is only there 2nd time in playoffs in this version of the franchise. They should not B there let's B real Denver chocked they should beat em N Timber Puppies should beat em too. As for Indy they have players who had experience N Lets not sugar coat it there no way in hell PacerZ gone this far in the playoffs had they played in da West. N again DON'T 4GET B. WRIGHT passed up Haliburton not that long ago. He should B in vlack and silver!!!!

  21. Speaking of which all U dumb asses betta not vote 4 that fake wanna B Latina Gina Ortiz Jones..if she wins SA mayor U can kiss Spurs Goodbye they not get new arena N move to Austin. Fact she even got da nomination is insane! San Antonio U suck at politics!!!!

  22. Trade idea
    Spurs receive
    Cam Thomas
    8th pick
    Nets receive
    Giannis Antetokumpo
    Bucks receive
    De aran fox
    14 th pick
    2027 hawks pick from Spurs

  23. Harper is best PG in the Draft don't miss him got big potential and will be improve his 3-pt shooting and He is a half-filipino and Spurs get many filipino fans for sure.

  24. Trade back with Jazz, then Mylunch at 5, SF (Bryant or Noa) at 14, Wemby's boy or Wolf or Riley at 21, depending on pick 14. Probably get a future pick swap from Jazz as well.

  25. Ace bailey šŸ’Æand trade for KD….fox castle KD ace and wemby…with solid bench chris,kj,julian, jeremy and bismack

  26. like the Devin for Utah's Collins (his contract is expiring so he can show out/rebound/was šŸ’Ŗ before disappeared in the mountains over there or if it isnt working move him in Feb. or resign next summer…gets off Vassell cap hit & frees Harper space) …or the KD trade… Options Wright make them šŸ‘ not šŸ‘Ž js #gospurs

  27. Spurs could put one of the point guards on the bench and let Vassell start. That gives them better spacing while maintaining the shot creation at the basket and having better midrange game as well. Castle is better on D than Vassell. All in all I think there are enough minutes for these guys to split between them. If Spurs need more defense – play with Castle – if they need more offense – go with Vassell. I would not trade any of them – especially not for Durant – no matter the Suns ask.
