Are The Magic Eyeing A Lauri Markkanen Trade?
bill Simmons on his podcast on Sunday mentioned how he’s on high alert about Larry Markin he said Markin isn’t not available i have not heard anything specific to Markin’s future in Utah have you i think he’s available um now do the do here’s I’m just asking sort of the hypothetical like do the Jazz regret not getting some kind of deal done for marketing last year with Golden State hell yeah yeah this is what I’m saying like they they they they did what Danny A always does you hold out for the motherload and a lot of times it works a lot of times you get a uh counterpart that is desperate um Golden State was not desperate they were smart not to go all in to get Lowry Markin on that team but I think looking back on it Utah if they could do it all over again maybe they don’t push the envelope so far and they take what was on the table for uh for Lowry Mark i think that that’s why it kind of makes me think that if if something similar comes along this year uh where an offer is on the table you can get that type of package back in return I think Utah is going to jump at it like they’re not winning during this Lowry market in prime window it’s not a reflection of market he’s an excellent player but he’s not really part of what they’re trying to do long term and look I I get what Austin was saying at the press conf you’re not going to tank believe it when I see it right just you know let’s Okay especially next year next year is three four number one pick quality players like the year to take yeah and like what even if they’re they’re not like how many games are they winning in the Western Conference like I mean it’s not many they’re going to be in such a tough position I think come January February that that’s why I think I think two things i think one I think marketin is going to be available i don’t know it’s a separate conversation about like how big a difference maker he is and what because you have to give up something to get him because he makes so much money and um it and he’s a good but not great player so there’s there’s certainly a debate about whether or not he can transform kind of one of these like let’s say Orlando for example like does he turn Orlando into a a top tier team in the Eastern Conference a team that needs that kind of offensive boost i I don’t know the answer to that but I I do think that Utah has no use for Lowry Market next year they’re not going to be a good team and and however you want to frame it whether you are intentionally tanking or hey we’re going to sit a bunch of guys because they’re kind of injured in the second half of the season one way or the other it’s not going to be a good year next year for the Utah Jazz orlando’s interesting um you mentioned them because I’ve heard they I’ve heard that they are open to trading Cole Anthony and Jonathan Isaac with their first for an upgrade there and I’m just trying to do the math in my head getting Lowry marketing for those two salaries is close financially but do you have too many like 610 shot creators yeah but Lowry’s a shot maker too like Lowry’s a shot maker too like and that’s I mean you’ve watched them a ton this year you watch them in the Boston series like they are their defense is championship level like they’re good you know Benerro is is good France Vagner is good they need one more shot maker now maybe maybe Lowry Markin is not ideal I’d probably want somebody in the back court that’s more of a shot maker than you know a 610 forward who kind of clutters things up a little bit with with Paulo and with Fron but if if that’s on the table if that’s available I I would I would be surprised Orlando didn’t make a move like they finished the year what is the the seven seed in the East like they’re they’re they’re one shot maker away one offensive player away I think from being a top four team again like they’re right there uh I think on the cusp organic improvements they’re going to get better and one more offensive player they’re legit they’re a team I’m really watching because they’ve got some young pieces out there they’ve got some draft capital i mean if they’re willing to deal Jonathan Isaac I mean they’ve kept him for I think 37 years like through every injury that he’s had um during his uh his career uh but that that’s a team that I think is going to be aggressively looking for an offensive player and for what it’s worth the Isaac $25 million salary and the Cole Anthony $ 122.9 million salary work perfectly for Lowry Mark’s 42.1 million so who knows we might have just made a deal here on the podcast because it connected some some rumors here because marketing would make some sense

Laura real salary should be between $25 million to $30 million a year . Only dumb GM would give a 1st for him. But there are many dumb GM in the league
