For starters, Shai has the best roster around him in the NBA, besides maybe the Celtics and the Cavs. Now suppose they switched spots, put Jokic on the Thunder, they’re by far the best team in the NBA, and it’s not even close. But SGA on the Nuggets, and they’re barely a playoff team. The MVP is the player which has the best overall impact on their team, and in this case, it’s clearly Jokic. Shai is incredible and a scoring machine, but the impact Jokic has had for his team, and the guys around him, easily outright that of Shai. Shai will get his, but Jokic deserves it this year.
