we’re going to be discussing the latest report that giannis antichmpo is reportedly not going anywhere he’s going to stay in milwaukee so what does that mean as far as ripple effects does that impact the spurs in sense of well yeah we we got to go try to get kevin durant because reportedly every freaking team in the league has re inquired about durant’s availability are the spurs now in a situation where they have to you know feel the need to add him before maybe another team does especially out west then we’re going to get into some lockdown spurs fan comments so much more here on week is according to espn’s winhorse that the milwaukee bucks giannis antumbo well they ain’t parting ways quote “right now there is no giannis anto trade market there is no giannis trade discussions he has not asked for it the bucks are not looking to trade him again via espn’s winhorse so before we get into the kd side of things um to me and again if this report is true and all all intents and purposes is giannis felt like a bigger fish to chase than kd because he seems to fit better with the spurs you know whether it be the younger than kd another big athletic big uh a guy who’s in his prime a guy who could pair well with wimi probably better than kd what do you think about this it was seemingly like any thoughts of giannis wearing silver and black next season is likely not going to come true now uh yeah i mean it it was going to be a tough tough get anyway i think you know there was already kind of talked that even if he was available to spurs you know we’re already pivoting possibly to somebody else just because of i mean i mean after everything that happened with with luca um you know i don’t think uh luca with the mavericks i i don’t think milwaukee is going to be able to trade giannis you know just for you know you know draft picks you know five six seven years from now they were going to have to get uh uh the kind of deal that oklahoma city got for shay but uh an immediate return rather than hey you know we got five draft picks coming up it would have would have to been you know a ton of good players you know draft picks in the next couple years so it it was going to be expensive either way so i think they were they were already pivoting to somebody else you know giannis was kind of you know not not really someone i think that they were going to go after yeah i mean i i i was on the side of if they’re going to get one of these guys kd or giannis you go with giannis if you have to pay a sticker price to get it excuse me you pay it spurs to bring you know a generational talent like giannis to san antonio but it seems like that’s likely not going to happen so moving on was everyone now talking about moving on to kevin durant where these rumors just will not stop whether it be arizona radio shows whether it be you know the new the national news out sports news outlet like espn etc etc it seems that it just feels like the spurs and durant are destined to pair up but the caveat here is again according uh to a report via espn that every single team in the nba has inquired about the availability of kevin durant so i got to ask the question raul let me get your thoughts on this is durant even worth it do you still chase him i i think if um i i guess kind of answering the question uh you know as far as how i’m going to talk about it later as well is he’s definitely worth it but only at a certain cost you know i think durant’s a one of my favorite players uh big big fan of his i think he’s a tremendous scorer um he’s one of those guys that you know is is basically with with with kd when he shoots is basically he’s either going to miss or he’s going to make it us very seldom do i see a defender able to you know shut him down so uh he’s a guy that if you have a chance to get him i would definitely say get him even though he’s uh you know a little older uh you know he he’s not he’s not uh a guy that relies on you know his leaping abilities his speed or whatever he’s just smooth he’s just sort of like a taller george gerber to me um but um yeah i think you definitely get him but i think you have to be mindful of the price that it’s going to cost you to get him yeah it is and you know who knows maybe there was some foretelling remember years ago when kevin durant put on a george gerbin jersey for some ma mashup what if that was a sign years ago that it was happening but look i get it you get elite scoring you get a fit with wimi you get a fit with fox you got a guy who’s a top tier scorer 26 points per game six rebounds four assists 1.2 blocks that’s last season ro at age 36 now for a real world 36 is very very young but for the nba standards that’s already getting up there in age um you got the mid-range shot you got the three shot you got his ability to finish at the rim why does it feel that some spurs fans are pushing back when he’s still producing it just it just it just feels like the numbers speak and they speak loudly but yet you feel some segment of fans pushing back saying “no don’t bring them.” yeah i i think it’s because of the cost uh and uh you know as far as you know you hear the rumors out there you know basically the rumors are that spurs are going to give up uh seems like everybody but you know castle and the number two pick and and wimi you know and and fox uh but i’ve i’ve seen rumors you know sohan vel kelton uh draft picks you know multiple multiple draft picks uh i’m trying to think who else i’ve seen you know uh in this discussion harrison barnes uh to to me given katie’s age and this is no disrespect but as far as the spurs timeline uh you know to me it just doesn’t make sense to trade away that many future assets for yeah for one player you know and um not just the you know vel and kd but also the draft picks you know uh again i i keep you know whenever you and i talk i keep talking about okc okc’s got a great young team and they’ve got they’ve got a lot of first round picks coming up so they’re going to keep replenishing so to me if you trade everything away for whether it’s katie or giannis or whatever uh to me that’s a little short-sighted because you’re going to have to contend with okc for the next five 10 years so i’m okay if it’s like a a one-year thing uh it’s it’s low risk it’s one year uh but again it go back to the price like how much you’re willing to pay for a one-year basically rental of of a potential and a you know not potential but a surefire basketball hall of famer like durant but i mean again on paper it seems to work you get somebody to pair with wimby you get somebody to pair with fox i i castle you put it all together you’re looking at a very potent starting five but do you think kevin durant pushes this team into the playoff contention oh definitely yeah kd will just give them just a you know if you know if he does come and you know the the rumors are true you know that they keep the number two pick and pick harper i mean uh a starting five of wimby durant uh fox castle and um um harper who i mean how are you going to stop that that that team up you know defensively you know uh i i think it’ll still be good defensively as well with wby and castle and harper um but offensively like how do you stop you know you know you can try and stop wby but then you got to you know contend with durant you know if you somehow figure out a way to maybe try to slow them two down then you have fox driving the lane you have harper driving the lane you have castle driving the lane the only and then you know kd can shoot threes wy can shoot threes you know i think castle’s threes are going to improve uh i you know i think uh maybe fox starts doing a little bit more threes but either way uh i mean how do you how do you slow down that starting five yeah you can i mean that that’s a headache for opposition so nightly during the regular season and not to mention kind of puts a scare in some of the powerhouses in the west whether that be okc denver you know you know whatever teams else on the rise minnesota so yeah they’ll have like kind of the new kids on the block are back and that is the spurs and look look there’s a lot of other pros and cons we’re gonna get into in a bit but for me you know again it it just comes down to the trade structure like what are we talking about you know let’s get down to business uh you know would would a deal involving barnes couple picks would that be 14 and one of the future picks is that enough is that enough to get a deal done uh you have to throw in sohan like when does it end because phoenix is gonna want to bring in some good players and they’re going to want to bring some draft capital and everybody in the league the world knows that’s the spurs right now so if the asking price is good oh man you do it but let’s take a break let’s take a break because i guess i’m going to ask you regarding about that report that other teams batman by the way what do you think about that fight though i think batman was just soft he just got soft i thought bane was yeah i think bane we even talked about it you know he just how he gotten soft and maybe he was maybe kind of pulling his punches a little bit so yeah yeah see see and man bane it just you know i remember watching that scene for the first time in the theater and just in shock when they brought back the iconic uh bane breaking the back moment and just to see it come to life and you know i i hear too that you can also lift a a bruce wayne over your head ro complete batman armor like nothing like nothing like your back is okay and everything yeah well that that’s that’s what the uh you know the the forklifts and everything yeah there you go easily all right we’re talking about giannis antumbo no longer on the table according to reports does that mean the spurs have to push and maybe put more of their cards and chips into the middle for kevin durant now you know we’re talking about this and kind of going back and forth about durant and san antonio you know again more reports are coming out that there’s mutual interest you know so there’s that there’s a whole texas longhorn ut connection uh so there’s that and then look at the heroes welcome he got last season when the suns came to austin to play in those austin games obviously the love is there but with reports coming out ro that it’s not just the spurs but so many other teams we’ll focus on the west teams do you think that kind of lights to fire the spurs to get something done because the last thing they need to see is a divisional team like houston get him maybe another power team denver minnesota get him because then they’re kind of falling behind the pack still what do you think about that uh concept about falling behind the pack if another rival west team gets him yeah i i don’t know if that that to me the spurs have always been kind of insulated when it comes to those sort of things like they they they they don’t um they they’ll try and keep up but they’ll do it at their kind of their own pace and um you know they want to build a team the way they want to build it don’t ever i’ve never really seen them seem like they have the you know the need to to do this or do that because another in response to another squad uh other than possibly you know bringing in another big man you know when they u you know they had the when teams were going you know with the twin towers and things like that you know u but for the most part they’ve always kind of done their own thing and i i don’t see uh this happening with with kd if anything maybe it causes them to pull back because they see that you know other teams are are offering what they’re offering and uh you know spurs i’m sure have a a set uh if there is um if they are considering a trade i’m sure they have a set package in their mind i’m sure they’re not going to you know stray from that you know we this is what we’re going to offer you if you don’t want to take it that’s fine and with um i think all these teams are coming in now because uh you know with all the reports and everything you know the phoenix says they’re going to trade ad like it doesn’t seem like there’s any going back from that so i think the fact that they’re going to trade him i think teams are kind of smelling blood in the water and oh yeah trying to see like hey if you’re going to get rid of him what what if we give you so and so for him or sure you know all these other teams you know know he’s available so they’re you know sort of uh checking to see if if they have anything that phoenix may want uh you know because obviously katie can help any team uh in this league so uh you know if anything you know may drive up the asking price for him uh yeah and if it does that then you know i could see the spurs saying you know thank you but no thank you yeah exactly now you know there’s other kind of positive ripple effects if the spurs do bring in kd and maybe have the trade of a sale uh you know so is that you know if they do draft harper you know then he al auto automatically gets a lot more minutes in that scenario i think with this a lineup of fox harper castle durant and wimi that’s that’s that’s pretty good yeah that’s really really good there again if harper does pan out to be the player that many things he will be so and of course he would have to cost and that cost via deon bell maybe uh so there’s that there’s also to the injection of championship experience you know another veteran uh he could be like kind of like what chris paul was last year uh for the spurs but a little bit more effective when it comes to the stats and numbers and you know the box scores there’s that give you a lot more wins but what about the idea of bringing in a guy like kevin durant and introducing him to a rookie head coach like mitch johnson do you foresee any issues there or no no because uh you know um katie knows um you know mitch from the you know the olympics and all right yep and then also you know through pop and you know uh kd is a huge huge pop fan and he loves pop as a person you know even more so as a coach so the the fact that that that pop signed off on on on mitch being the next head coach i know that means a lot to players like kd you know and they were you know i’m sure they had a lot of respect for mitch already um but the fact that you know pop sort of you know uh gave a stamp of approval was going to you know make it to where kd kd does come here he’s going to have nothing but respect for uh for mitch you know and then you know he’s going to do it you know to honor pop and uh you know uh as well so the the the one of the bigger obstacles to this whole scenario of kd coming to san antonio again if he does go beyond a one-year thing because a you know he’ll probably like to get paid again you know if he wants to stay long term because only has like what about one more year in his contract with phoenix so they’re going to they’re going to run into that uh i think he’s uh due 50 million uh next season i believe yeah so uh you know obviously you’ll make the trade work uh but you know the numbers and dollar side of it but it’s beyond next season like did you give up a vel and a first round pick or a sohan for a guy that’s only going to be your one year and you don’t even make the playoffs or you’re a play in and you get bounced so is that worth it you know there’s so many questions right now where i can understand why some spurs fans are quick to pause on this like well hold on here you know let’s look at this long term but because i think where the spurs are or their rebuild is they’re almost out of it right now raul you could see them transitioning little by little especially next season into more of a winning phase now durant could push that winning phase beginning soon as next season yay we’re good but again it’s the sticker price and i think that’s ultimately what it comes down to right i think it’s just really what phoenix wants and if you look at recent history look what bryant wright did with darren fox how many times did you and i and everybody else think well bye-bye vel bye-bye so bye kevin it’s going to take one of that uh with that player to get a deer on fox and it didn’t happen if it gets down to it and the suns and the spurs agree to a trade do you have confidence in brian reich you know for getting the best out of the deal oh definitely um yeah what you were talking about you know with kd he’s going to make uh his contract is for 54 million next season and then and then the following season he’s an unrestricted free agent so that’s another reason why you know i don’t think the spurs will play pay too high of a price for him you know and yeah he could always you know come back and resign with the spurs and you know maybe do like a a tim duncan or you know manu genoli deal where he takes less money to help your team but um you know there’s no guarantee of that so that’s why you know i i don’t think the spurs are willing to give up that much for him because uh you know say for instance they they don’t trade for him this year they could always go get him next year you know i i don’t think i don’t think a year is going to impact kevin uh you know kd because again he’s not you know he’s not uh you know um i’m trying to think of you know he’s not like a dominique wilkins you know who lives above the rim you know he’s just this again you know he reminds me of george gin so much just a guy who’s just just really smooth you know you know just very methodical you know and uh just so difficult to to to guard defensively uh you know so i don’t think a year is gonna be that impactful on him uh so if for some reason they can’t trade from this year you know sign him next year once he when he’s an unrest uh unrestricted free agent so but u yeah i mean i just um you know like i said as far as with brian wright i mean he he’s shown um that he can make some great deals like i was thinking maybe like a kd deal maybe spurs can offer you know like a a blake wesley a malachi i you know you know you know i’m obviously going to have to trade someone else for the salaries you know but um you know maybe someone like that some some good players that that you know are are getting squeezed out and i i think blake west is going to be a heck of a point guard but he’s not going to be it’s not going to be on the spurs i mean because he’s not going to get any playing time right i think if he goes to phoenix i think he blossoms there oh yeah malachi brand yeah and malachi brand random as well so maybe spurs can sell that hey you know these two guys are good they just need playing time you know and um you know and and something along those lines but again even even the the talk with them kraton bell and sohan uh i’m i’m a big fan of sohan as well i think sohan’s going to be an all defense all defensive um player you know so to me trading sohan would be a big mistake for this team did you see that video that he shared uh he’s knocking down jumpers in gym right now the offseason now okay everybody yes i get it it’s not an nba game there’s no defenders on him uh but you still like the commitment that he has to that aspect of his game which is the weakest is outside of the paint but nevertheless i’m you know we’ll end the segment of this before we get into some fan comments here does would you be okay with this deal vel barnes the number 14 pick and a future first for kevin durant um yeah i mean i think that would be a better deal than some that i’ve seen okay u you know bel i’m i’m you know i love bell’s game you know but uh you know his minutes are going to get squeezed you know because when they get harper yeah um you know and he’s be another player you know that that uh you put him somewhere else and give him some more minutes and some more uh responsibilities he’s going to blossom as well um but would love to keep sell but if if uh you know that makes it part of a deal you know mhm that’s that’s one of the the less uh uh the less that i’ve seen that’s really to me it’s going to impact their future as much uh barnes you know barnes is getting up there a little in age as well um 14 pick you know i kind of see the spurs trading the 14th pick no matter what just because just because of the salary um but like i said that that wouldn’t be a bad trade yeah i i don’t think i think that’d be acceptable it’s a little bit of a price tag you know but as long as castle and that number two pick and the fox are not involved i think uh they should do that but i you know ultimately again it comes down to cost who’s involved in any deal and for me the future of kevin durant i is i don’t even that i look at that in barnes vel number 14 pick future first i’m like you know durant what did he just stay for one year and he bounces you gave up you know kind of a chunk of change for that but we’ll we’ll see we’ll see we’ll see it feels just like every day it’s something new something new with kevin durant uh likely leaving phoenix and i don’t know if you saw that too espn said they get traded like as soon as the coming weeks i mean quick yeah yeah and then then the other thing is you know like i said um to me i think kd’s got you know maybe two three good years in them but but if you look at the spurs and sort of their timeline um you know um their best players are are between 19 and 25 i’m saying 19 because i’m assuming they’re going to draft dylan harper who’s i believe 19 right now and then uh kell’s 25 i think he’s he turns um i think he turns 26 in late later this year i think october november i can’t remember but um you know so so their best players you know they’re still you know maybe what seven eight nine t years from from their prime so uh to me i i know katie would would definitely help right away but again i don’t think you mortgage the future uh of this team and their timeline uh because they’re you know on this road that they’re on they’re going to be they’re going to be good for quite a number of years absolutely absolutely he is ro domingus reaction to a recent episode we talked about dylan harper now this is something that’s been weighing on my mind too i want to get your thoughts on this so this is from chris orosco 7836 he says this is regarding dylan harper row ruters was trash shake my head there’s been some chatter about that that yeah dylan harper’s good but he paid ruters yeah dylan harper is good but what did ruckers really do are you buying into all that no on me because it’s it’s this um you know the way the ncaa is now you know with this nil nil deals i mean it’s um you know to to me it’s very hard to put stock into any team right now because it seems like they’re just um you know i i know that some teams did it before you know but now they’re openly pay you know paying players to come play with them and yeah i think it was always it was definitely was always the case where harper and bailey were going to go to to school for one year and then go to the nba so uh you know i’m sure they went to rutgers i’m sure money had played a factor in it um so so to me you can’t really judge um what he did in college i mean uh you look at harper what he did you know uh aaou ball um um you know everything else that he’s done he’s what he’s done in the draft combine and with the workouts i mean harper’s going to be a star uh you know i can’t remember who i read uh earlier today was they talked about how uh um you know they think that harper and flag are going to be the only kind of the superstars in this draft i i don’t think that’s true but that’s what they’re saying saying that harper was a lock so uh you know to me you can’t put it much stock into what happened uh with him at rutgers you know to me there’s only so much uh you know a player can do you know in this day and age yeah absolutely yeah i don’t put stock into that too um what was it uh other examples of this i mean david with the nemo academy you know didn’t really do much but he he he was a beast and come to the nba that being 50 david robinson so yeah yeah i mean the history shows that it’s not the uh where the player went to school it’s how the player is so we’ll see how he does but interesting question though and yes there is a kd question shocker here all right this is from nine baby gaming all right they say “i love this move for kd as he gets older the team gets better and he can fade into a lesser role while still being impactful.” basically that’s pretty much what chris paul is was last season for the spurs but you’re kind of getting it with kd but you’re getting a little bit more fuel and you’ll fire more ammo with him than maybe a versus a chris paul so what do you think about that um he is an older player equal this team gets better um you know with kd i think um i think he he’ll help him as much as chris paul did but kind of in a different way i mean chris chris chris’s leadership is uh i think they’re going to hear people talking about chris paul’s leadership and sort of what he brought to this team and how you approach the game you know how you um you know defend and play for 48 hours and look for your teammates i have a feeling that that’s something that’s going to be talked about for years when it comes to spurs once they start winning i think people are going to talk about how much of an impact that chris ball had on these young players right uh i think with kd uh kd is a great leader i think that’s an underrated part of his game he he he’s a guy that everybody likes everybody respects and and uh uh you know i think you know wimby loves him as well so i i think he’s gonna if he does come here he’s going to be someone that everyone looks up to and uh you know everyone’s going to kind of follow uh but i think his impact is going to be more on the court as far as his scoring and just sort of uh you know directing people offensively as well um but but no he’s i think if he does come here he’s gonna have a huge impact but i don’t think he’s gonna be on the same level as chris paul i think chris paul uh sort of showed and and taught the spurs how to win and how to and even it’s not so much you know winning ball games last season but how to win long term what you have to do in order to to sustain that success and how to kind of climb over that hump i again i i think uh when the spurs do win their next championship i think chris paul is going to get mentioned a lot i like how you said when they win their next championship yeah that’s very nice yeah all signs are pointing that their their ceiling is incredibly high yeah whether nothing happens if they don’t get kevin durant oh no not wimby fox castle and possibly harper not that not that with the bench of sohan and kell maybe velvies around so the spurs are definitely sitting pretty too but yeah yeah you know this whole durant stuff man you know do you think it’s a case of where there’s smoke there’s fire do you think that’s what we’re dealing with right now with durant and the spurs yeah i mean you know i mean it’s um i think kd would love to come play here because of the the the yeah you know obviously with wimby and this younger but uh you know i think the olympics um he he you know from what i understand he’s always been a big fan of pop and love pop but i think getting playing under him uh you know winning a gold medal i mean katie basically you know kind of put himself aside to help the team you know uh whatever pop wanted you know he he said “okay i’ll do it.” uh i think being around pop i think that he elevated pop uh katie’s mind so i think kd would have loved to have played under pop for a whole season but since he can’t i think he would still like to come to san antonio now just sort of for the culture and to be around pop you know i’m sure pop’s going to be around practices and you know the team um you know often absolutely we’ll see what the spurs have in store i mean seriously i never seen the spurs name thrown out there so much in recent years i mean just you know tied to big names giannis is kd you know so it’s definitely times are changing in san antonio by the way are you going to shave your head too like webby is doing right now at the shaolin temple in china ro i’m thinking about i’m thinking about maybe going up there and like training like uh what’s the name will smith’s kid did kareem did the movie with bruce lee was it was that enter the dragon
