okay so it’s over right the Knicks have officially requested permission to speak with Jason Kidd to interview him to be their next head coach and the Mavericks like everyone said the whole time what was always happening is that the Mavs declined it and the Mavs said no all right well maybe it was all just a media story but to me this is still something there’s still something there we had heard rumblings that Jason Kidd maybe didn’t want to be with the Mavericks anymore that he wanted to leave or that he was open to other opportunities or anything like that and then this lasted for as long as it lasted but it’s over right there’s no way this continues in any kind of way right well according to James Edwards of the Athletic the Knicks pursuit may not be over and this is the thing it was on the Knicks side the Knicks had the feeling that even if the they got the official no from the Mavericks that there was still some interest there from Jason Kidd and that’s where this has all come from that there was interest by Jason Kidd if there wasn’t interest by Jason Kidd this wouldn’t be a story at all there was probably not interest by Emodoko there’s probably not interest by Chris Finch who is the other player the other coach that the Knicks apparently reached out to to try and and and poach away but there’s some interest there and so this continues to be a thing i guess I’m going to just say all right the Mavs said no it’s done it’s on the Knicks now if the Knicks or Jason Kid through back channels decide let’s keep making this a story and let’s actually make this potentially happen then maybe it could be like James says and then the Knicks could offer a trade package and the Mavericks could still refuse it but then they could also consider it too so that’s where the story goes now
