little bit sooner but here we are doesn’t matter appreciate you guys if you’re watching along uh live or later i really do appreciate any and all support thank you guys for being here my name is Sunsgeeek and we’re going to react to Jordan A’s introductory introductory uh press conference kind of just go over some key quotes and and kind of just give my thoughts in general but um beyond that we are also going to just kind of open up the floor again and I’m going to answer as many questions as I possibly can about the Phoenix Suns about the NBA whatever you guys want um and uh I appreciate anybody who is tuning in um thank you guys andrew I appreciate you being here and Brian I appreciate you guys so thank you all right guys so new Phoenix Suns head coach the 23rd head coach in Phoenix Suns history I believe Jordan Aut gave his introductory uh press conference today and said a lot of good things and uh I hope that he sort of won some fans today and if there’s one sort of takeaway that I can say about Jordan Knot is sort of like Brian just said in the chat right here is he likes his confidence and so do I but like he even like I’m paraphrasing what he said here but like he pretty much talked about this he’s like I’m not here to like prove people right or to prove people wrong or whatever he he pretty much said like I’m the head basketball coach here i’m going to focus on my team yada yada yada like he said some really good things and could I just start with one quote right away um and I’m actually going to share my screen so you guys can see this uh first off if you guys don’t know this is what Jordan Kn looks like normally in the past you guys I would like watch the whole thing and react to it live but I I just feel like kind of taking the key quotes um and giving my thoughts is sort of the better way to do this but yeah that’s Jordan that is our new head coach 40 years old has had multiple assistant coaching jobs welldeserved definitely deserves to be an NBA head coach and like I’ve been saying for a while highly qualified and deserves a chance so that is Jordan Kn but sort of my biggest take not my biggest takeaway one of my favorite takeaways right away is this quote I am honored to be the next head coach of the Phoenix Suns uh I think any head coach who becomes a head coach of an NBA team that is how you should start your press conference but I don’t remember specifically where this next quote came from like I did listen to the press conference uh but I want to start off with this quote right here quote I think we’re all aware of what we signed up being NBA b like being an NBA basketball coach aught said quote I’m not here to look back on what has happened i’m here right now and focused to move this thing forward guys Jordan not didn’t just get signed off the street because he’s a Michigan State guy like all you cliche narrative fans want to think and and media members and people want to think it’s not like Jordan not just walked by and was like I’m from Michigan State hire me guys he knows about those cliches he knows what’s been happening with the Phoenix Suns he is an NBA head coach he’s been an NBA head coach for so many years he’s not focused on what has happened to the Phoenix Suns in the past he’s focused on what is going to happen next that is a huge takeaway and he said some other things along those lines of like you know we’re going to work hard every day and we’re going to find solutions and you know like if we lose a game we’re all going to like get together and figure out what went wrong like I’m paraphrasing a lot of that but he did he did say that one word solutions like that that’s the kind of stuff I want to hear from my my Phoenix Suns you know from an NBA head coach from the Phoenix Suns head coach that’s what I want to hear uh Phoenix Suns GM Brian Gregory was at the press conference obviously because he’s the GM now and said this uh actually let me start with the Matt Ishbia quote matt Ishbia was not at the press conference but I wanted to kind of remind you guys what Matt Ishbia said then I’ll get to the Brian Gregory quote sorry about that guys quote “Jordan embodies the culture of excellence and accountability we’re going to prioritize,” said Suns owner Matt Ishpia at the time of his hiring quote “He is a he is young and hungry and is ready to be an NBA head coach his track record of developing players fostering team chemistry and his understanding of the game at the highest level are essential skills to how how we are building our future that’s a big quote you guys and I like that i think that’s a quote I’m going to remember going forward from Matt Ishbia now like I said with Suns general manager Brian Gregory um pretty much said that the Suns went through an extensive head coaching search and he’s not wrong you guys saw how long it took to hire Jordan not how many you know people were were were interviewed and and you know all that and Brian Gregory definitely has a lot of confidence and faith and belief in Suns head coach Jordan Knot quote “Our fans deserve the very best.” Amen to that Brian Gregory thank you quote “Our fans deserve the very best and that’s what’s sitting in front of you today.” No question clear choice jordan stood out and he talked about how he stood out every single stage of the process and sort of like Matt Ishbia said he’s hungry he’s been preparing for this he’s put in the work so remember how I said Jordan A isn’t focused on the past he knows about all the Michigan State memes and and the cliche narratives around that he definitely had a quiet confidence reaction and I don’t even know if that’s the best way to phrase it you could definitely tell that this question and I don’t know which media member asked it it doesn’t really matter but he definitely reacted to the Michigan State Connections when a media member asked him and I love his response quote in fact we can actually listen to it here in a second but I’ll just read it to you guys quote so I’ll say it like this i’ve earned the right to be here which he’s absolutely right he has i’ve earned the right to be here aut said “I spent 20 years of working as hard as I possibly can to be here in this spot i’ve been around great people great coaches great players that allowed me to grow and put me in tough spots to see if I can get better.” And then quote “I know I’ve earned this opportunity.” He absolutely has i’m going to work as hard as I can from here on out to prove I’m here for the right reasons and I’ve earned this opportunity so that excites me that excites me going forward close quote great answer from Jordan not love it like even though I said he’s not really out to prove people wrong i mean he’s going to have to prove himself at some point but you know he he he just he he’s definitely got a great confidence about him and I think that that’s something that stands out about him just right off the bat um and I’m I’m excited to get to know Jordan and and watch more pref press conferences and postgame pressers and all that stuff and quick fun fact before we jump into some more quotes here and stuff brian Gregory talked about how even though Jordan Knott’s only been hired for like what a week now or so he’s already been in pre-draft workouts and sort of like in their debriefing or or the war room you know stuff like that so he’s already been involved to an extent in a lot of like decisions but again just even sitting there in pre-draft workouts that’s like huge man i mean you’re the head coach of the Suns like you should be all right guys so sort of the quote that I read you we’re we’re actually excuse me we’re actually going to listen sorry I just saw a funny meme that that was under one of these things we’re going to listen to head coach coach Jordan Knot again we’re not going to sit here and listen to the whole press conference because that does get a little boring not going to do that guys and we got other things we can talk about too um we’re going to listen to Suns head coach Jordan let me see does that look Yeah that looks a lot better okay cool all right hopefully you guys can hear this and here we go i’ve earned the right to be here i’ve spent 20 years of working as hard as I possibly can to be here in this spot um I’ve been around great people great coaches great players to an issue with Jordan Knot which I love um obviously we all know at least I hope you guys know that Devin Booker had a lot of say and a lot of input and rightfully so devin Booker should have a lot of say if not all well not Yeah a lot he He’s I gota I’m fumbling my words here excuse me devin Booker should have a lot of input and say going forward with like every decision the Suns make from here on out i don’t care what anybody says you know how people call LeBron James like Lud GM i don’t care this is Devin Booker’s team man devin Booker can have all the say that he wants going forward speaking of Devin Booker um more on that later because uh yeah he’s probably going to get signed to an extension which is the right move so anyways um okay couple more quotes uh and again I think we can actually listen to to this too let me just uh exit out of this real quick let’s see yeah so let’s let’s listen to one more quote here from Jordan himself and uh let me make sure let me see um no that’s not it okay so anyways my bad guys i I was just reading something okay let’s start with this right here and it’s on the screen right now and uh there’s just one specific line in this quote that I really like and I think this is important you guys um now I know there’s a quote on the screen but I have some notes here so it’s kind of like you know it’s the same quote though quote “We’re going to help them at every phase of their game.” So he’s talking about the players we’re going to help them the players at every phase of their game we’re going to help develop them get through a new level that they didn’t think they could get to and it’s going to take all of us so he’s talking about assistant coaches staff other players etc etc and then it’s tough again it’s tough to play in the NBA and I want them to know when they’re out there uh that when they’re out there they’re playing that we’re together not only your teammates but us as coaches all the support staff we’re all here to find solutions then after the game we’ll talk about it and evaluate it so that was kind of what I was referencing earlier in in in this live show like I I love some of those key words and phrases in there he’s like he’s like you know some of the key quotes here um it’s hard to play in the NBA i want them to know when the players are out there that we’re all together not just your teammates but the coaches we’re here to find solutions after the game we’ll talk about it evaluate it etc but then there’s this quote right here and there’s one specific line here this is an exciting opportunity because first off this is the this is the word I’m talking about right here the the players it’s always the players and I like if you look closely the Suns meet the Suns like uh social media team bold put those letters in bold letters it’s the players it’s always the players and it’s the actual organization i know that I have the support from above me that we can do this step by step to do it the right way to build this thing out it really does seem like that Jordan is really going to be a players coach yes he may not have a championship he may not have a resume like Frank Vogle or Mike Benhoer but he really does seem like he’s going to be a players coach i don’t think Devin Booker would have signed off on this and gave his input and sort of his stamp or whatever if he didn’t believe that Jordan not was a players kind of coach that might even be able to maybe push Devin Booker a little bit that might be able to connect with Deon Booker a little bit and to help Devin Booker and as he said quote we’re all here to find solutions to help Deon Booker find solutions obviously Deon Booker has had a lot of coaches throughout his his career i mean Booker’s been in the league what 10 11 years now and maybe this is the one coach that can actually stick around for a while you know um obviously Monty Williams was here for like what three four years or whatever maybe five but yeah maybe this is maybe this is the guy that can stick around for a long time and I know it sounds like wishful thinking i know it sounds like delusion but maybe the Phoenix Suns this off season can do some stuff and get us back to playoff contention is that so is that so much to ask Phoenix Suns i I don’t think it is okay um few other quotes that we’ll get to i mean he said a lot of good stuff you guys like I’m sort of underelling it some of the stuff that he said uh but I heard a lot of great things and and I I just think that’s you know that’s the kind of stuff that we need to focus on you know because obviously there’s a lot of cliche narratives um you know around the Suns right now a lot of them that I’m trying to like shut down if you will um but I want to I want to just go to a quote here and and and shout out to Shane Young uh writer for Forbes covers the Phoenix Suns in the NBA um good answer here from Jordan not too and uh let’s see yeah it’s right here um he he’s talking about how Devin Booker sort of stood out in a pre-draft workout actually no you know what before we get to that yeah let’s let’s start here so Shane Young was at the press conference today and uh well my my screen’s not working what’s going on here whoa just happened my bad you guys one man show here you know the drill here we go um okay my bad you guys so Shane Young asked a couple good questions maybe we’ll get to the Devin Booker thing in a minute but uh Shane Young asked this um I asked Jordan the Sun’s new head coach what the most important steps are to building trust and development or developing relationships with players this was his answer and this is a good answer here you guys hold on let me just make sure the volume’s full okay hey Jordan um just from your time around the league what are the most important steps to building trust and the relationships with your players yeah great question i think that is uh the most important piece to coaching and the NBA you obviously have to be talented i think right now in the NBA you not only have to be talented but you have to have high character so initially everyone you know will be respectful of the position but it quickly turns to can I help them and once they know you can help them that helps the relationship that helps you coach them once that relationship is formed so when I prove and when our staff proves that we can help them that’s when you got a good thing going and that’s where we’re going to be building too hey Jordan um yeah i don’t know why like I just love that answer you guys like it I hope that like Jordan uh and his staff will be able to not only just connect with these players but grow with them develop relationships with them challenge them and you know grow as a team and you know like team chemistry gets thrown out a lot but like it really is like off the court stuff and like in practice that matters too i think hopefully that’s what the Phoenix Suns got in a head coach like Jordan not um yeah like elbow jumper says it right here high character plus ability skills to help players improve bud couldn’t show this in one season that’s sad man hey Mike Benhoer man that was Jeez Louise uh I saw this clip going around too uh for for anybody who thinks maybe Jordan Odd is you know I don’t know i just think this is interesting i think it’s worth a watch um I saw this clip going around gerald Borgay from PHNX uploaded it but it he he gave a very detailed answer on what he’s learned from each coach in his career and yes Mike Benhoer is on this list but let’s listen to this answer man had I mean obviously Hall of Famer to start coach uh his ability to relate to players and spend time the players build relationships that is real I’m sure it’s real even today the amount of time he spends with with players even at his stature and his success uh Bud grateful for Bud getting you know allowing me to come to Atlanta on that staff uh Bug was you know very very detailed uh as that thinker and then able to simplify in front of the group kenny was a player development coach that turned into uh a tactician you know there in Brooklyn i got to see him move as an assistant to head coach build Brooklyn without any draft picks or very low draft picks um through player development jacqu Vaughn was part of that how he was able to stabilize us in a time that would you know could have been rocky and then Steve’s just incredible humility for being a Hall of Fame player and his just uh density of knowledge to the game and to other sports and just him as a human being dar’s toughness you know Darve is a from where he’s from from Sagenol Michigan he uh he’s a tough dude that has an incredible heart and then Kenny the second time and I I you know again this is a long answer i apologize but just how he’s grown from Brooklyn and again I think that last 12 months of my my life um how incredibly blessed I was to be to go to Cleveland um be a part of that see him see the group um put me in this spot really helped me put me in this spot right here today great answer again from Jordan not um you know how like a lot of fans were like mad and and media members even me like I was a little underwhelmed when Suns GM Brian Gregory had his press conference um people were like “Oh Brian Gregory’s press conference was terrible and he’s going to be a bad GM blah blah blah it’s like whether you thought Jordan’s press conference was good or bad i mean like again the dude oozes confidence and I thought he gave some really good answers like I don’t think he really seemed nervous once so again I hope that that kind of narrative changes like I hope fans will actually give Jordan a chance and and show some respect on his name i mean it’s going to take a long time like he’s going to have to start winning for fans to start like showing him respect but and obviously he’s going to have to survive a season a full season you know um but uh you know I just hope that the narrative around Jordan Knot and the Phoenix Suns in general uh changes soon um let’s circle back to Shane Young uh speaking of of that because you guys know me I’m I I try to stay positive and optimistic about the Suns um we can maybe react to that Devin Booker thing in a minute because Jordan Knaut told a great story um about Devin Booker like in his pre-draft workout but I kind of want to focus on this and let me um let me just zoom in here for a second you guys let’s see my bad you guys there we go here’s an actual positive tweet about Jordan Kn because you know how Sun’s Twitter is it’s all negativity and and toxic and stuff shane Young from Forbes says “Overall I think Jordan Kn is going to be a highly successful head coach i bet on him being a long-term face of the organization and putting an end to the coaching carousel we’ve seen here.” It’s a great tweet it’s a great in my my opin in my opinion positive uh that’s that’s kind of more tweets no not more tweets that’s sort of more that’s more stuff I want to hear and see around the Phoenix Suns instead of just all negativity and everything’s bad and the Michigan State Suns whatever shut up guys we We don’t need that we’re not the Michigan State Suns move on already you guys okay guys so we’re going to kind of open up the floor to questions comments concerns about the Phoenix Suns heck let’s talk some NBA if we if you guys want to uh the draft is in like 15 days I believe i got to kind of start doing some more quote like draft homework i got to start studying this class and doing my research and all that definitely going to be doing some shows for the draft so get your comments questions in right now we have some other things we will talk about um uh you know because there’s obviously seems like every single day there’s a new Kevin Durant trade rumor i’m kind of getting sick of them at this point um so again if you guys if you guys got comments questions etc i will do my best to get to them but we will start with this and I think somebody asked us asked this in the chat earlier so I’m just going to answer this question right now let’s see where was it i swear I saw it it’s about coaching I think did their homework let’s see where is it well I thought somebody asked “Does does Jordan not hire his own staff?” Where did I see that at uh but anyways I’m just going to answer the question because I swear to God I saw it um and this is I’m getting to a point here because because Gambo tweeted this stuff out earlier um Jordan Au and obviously the Suns general manager Brian Gregory all have to kind of hire their staff together but I think to my knowledge it it really is Jordan Au who will like interview these guys and bring on his guys and people that he wants on his staff and Gambo says this this was from earlier uh today gambo says “Look for Deari Carol former NBA player by the way to be the Sun’s number three assistant.” So third assistant carol was a player when Jordan was in Brooklyn and coached him in Los Angeles and Cleveland so potentially probably because Gambo is right like 99.9% of the time Deari Carroll former NBA player uh will be one of the Suns assistant coaches and speaking of assistant coaches um David Fdale feel like I always said his name wrong back in the day david Fddale I’m trying to find the tweet here real quick um most likely if not will not be retained by the Phoenix Suns and Jordan not um you guys might know that Jordan Fale was with us for like what like three years I believe and I think was like the only coach that like stayed on after Frank Vogle was fired and and there was some um I guess quote rumors that like fa David Fdale would be like our head coach and all that um and I’m sure that Jordan not has probably crossed paths or probably knows David Fdale very well i’m sure they’ve I’m sure they respect each other but I’m sure that Jordan not and son new Suns GM Brian Gregory just wants to hire brand new people who sort of fit their vision so it sucks that we’re losing David Fale take that for data um but it is time to move on like it’s a new head coach it’s a new general manager new regime in Phoenix and it’s just time to move on okay so shout out to John Gambo for that all right guys um again it it we have like a new Kevin Durant rumor every single day so I just want to kind of get to this and I’m not going to lie I haven’t list there there’s been so much Kevin Durant stuff and Gambo’s been saying a lot of great things john Gamador from Arizona Sports does a great job of keeping us all updated i guess this is what he said today now remember it is only a 33 second clip i didn’t hear everything he said but let’s just listen to it i think so i think that uh you know outside of the fact that we’re gonna have a hard time pronouncing some of the names of the players what’s this Wii stuff Kimosabi i don’t know where we is coming from on this one okay go ahead devin Vel vel very easy velerehan sohan sohan you don’t pronounce this no not Soan you don’t pronounce or Soon or however it is you’ve been saying it for the last three years sohan and Vel yeah you got it those are the guys so hand okay so hand obviously you got it wrong i think so i think that you know outside the fact that we’re going to have a hard time pronouncing some of the So sort of the the point of that clip was Gambo says the Spurs package is centered around Devin Velasel Vel and Jeremy Shan and the Spurs and that the Spurs are a realistic landing spot for Kevin Durant again there’s all these rumors you guys um King Nacho I see your comment you’re funny um there’s all these rumors it’s like Kevin Durant’s going to get traded to the Spurs for the guys we just mentioned maybe Harrison Barnes the 14th pick and a bunch of second round picks he’s going to get traded to Houston for this package of these players guys like it’s it’s definitely possible you know as time goes on because like I think even Bobby Marks even I guess you put this in quotations reported it today saying that like Kevin Durant will be traded the Suns are going to look to kind of retool their roster after a Kevin Durant trade etc etc i don’t know where he’s going to get traded to i just hope that the Phoenix Suns can get as much back as possible and that they can you know continue to build sort of like quote rebuild not a full-on rebuild just sort of retool rebuild restructure this roster to get us back to playoff contention i I’m sure that you could throw like a million packages and say like “Hey SungeGeek we should do this and here’s why and like we should trade for this.” Guys I do not know like I have no clue but as the days go on I’m giving it a less and less chance that I think Kevin Durant returns to this team if you guys have been watching my content for a while um I I wouldn’t be like mad if Kevin Durant returns to the Valley i wouldn’t be mad i mean it’s Kevin freaking Durant um but I do think it it maybe not maybe it most likely is time to move on like this unfortunately failed and sucks but just is what it is all right guys i’m going to answer a couple questions um let’s see because there have been some good ones in here let’s see let me just get caught up here um let’s see this isn’t a question it’s just more of a comment that I’m just gonna shut down right here no offense Brian i appreciate you typing this but he says “Love to add Chris Paul as an assistant coach or to mentor the young players.” Guys I said this like a while ago when people were like “Chris Paul should be our head coach.” Guys Chris Paul has not retired yet and to my knowledge he still plays for the San Antonio Spurs and if he doesn’t anymore he’ll probably play for another team this upcoming season he’s not going to coach our team anytime soon sure maybe in the future but Chris Paul’s not gonna No he’s not going to do that um let’s see damon Alred posed a good question about how the Suns will play the games looks like he wants to set a tone with defense and pace yeah I think I heard about that and I think I heard uh his answer too i mean I’ll probably have to go back and relist to it but I am very excited i I say this a lot but I genuinely mean it i’m really excited for like Suns pre-season games because that’s sort of our first look at what the team will look like and I know some players like hold back during the pre preseason whatever but again new team new coaching staff new regime the Suns are going to play a lot different and hopefully sort of like this comment says here set the tone with defense and pace that would be huge um let’s see i agree be Suns will need wins at some point but I think it’s the effort is there and the Suns turnovers are cut down I’d be happy with that exactly king Nacho says “Beal must go.” Uh oh okay here here’s a good question from A702 you think KD will be traded before the draft kind of glad you asked this question right now I give it like a 60% chance Katie gets traded before the draft but I do want to just say this we don’t necessarily have to watch this clip if you guys want to but I just want to read what was sort of said here um this comes from the the and I have to just pause on Stephen A smith’s face right here this comes from the Dunk Central but this was heard on first take and all that first off look at Stephen Aith Stephen A smith’s face that’s hilarious but this is coming from Brian Winhorse NBA insider quote “The NBA off season is gonna happen faster than normal sham Shirania has cleared his calendar and is preparing to work his hardest around the draft you’re going to get action very soon.” And wasn’t it like a week ago that like uh that Shams even said like like a Kevin Durant trade is like it’s in the works and like it could happen before the draft or on the draft or something like that like guys I retweeted this or I think I retweeted a version of this earlier i got to I got to say it to you guys again the NBA off season is going to happen faster than normal shams has cleared his calendar and is preparing to work his hardest around the draft you’re gonna get action very soon now that doesn’t just necessarily mean it’s all going to be Suns trades it’s not like it’s it’s not like the Suns are going to run the off season but there’s a lot of other rumors and stuff going around right now anything is possible and guys I’ve said this so many times on my channel and I really believe it after the Luca trade which that still blows my mind that Luca was traded unfortunately to the Lakers after the Luca trade that proved that no player is safe like it’s probably unlikely that like Nicole Joic gets traded but like anything can happen in the NBA and the Luca don the Luca the Luca trade proved it so do I think Kevin Durant will get traded before the draft uh I give it like a 60 65% chance because again guys the draft’s like less than 15 days away that’s crazy a lot’s going to happen guys teams are going to start picking up the phones teams are going to start making deals if they haven’t already i’m sure there’s some deals that are that are already agreed to that we just like don’t know about especially the week of the draft heck sometimes a couple days before the draft there’s going to be so many rumors reports teams are going to be picking up the phones it’s going to be nuts it’s going to be nuts can’t wait you guys great question great question there all right more questions here let’s see great question from Elbow Jumper can you make a case for keeping Bradley Beal in Phoenix what that’s crazy that’s a great question um I sort of defended Bradley Beal in my last live show um and I know a lot of like fans may not like that i can’t really make a case i just will say this if Bradley Beal had a different contract like a a smaller contract for less dollars I don’t think the Bradley Beal stuff would be as be as big as it really is and maybe if we like didn’t sacrifice like so many picks too i don’t think Suns fans would like be so like negative and and harsh on Bradley Beal and and I will say this I truly do believe it i think a lot of fans think like Bradley Beiel’s playing on crutches i don’t believe that to be the case like yeah he gets injured a lot yada yada yada whatever but like I don’t know i just I just think it’s that contract and and not just necessarily the contract it’s the no trade clause but guys people forget this bradley Beal played like what 10 years or so for the Washington Wizards when they were actually somewhat good and would make the playoffs a lot and he was like the face of the Wizards franchise i know a lot of people think it was John Wall but Bradley Beal was right there too like he earned that and the Suns traded for him knowing that they knew that he had a no trade clause it’s not they were like it’s not like they traded for him they were like “Oh wait a minute he has a no trade clause we’re just finding this out now.” No guys that they knew that going in and I know a lot of people will like fire back at that and say like “Well then they shouldn’t have traded for him.” Guys hindsight is 2020 but at the time the Bradley Beal trade made a lot of sense again maybe you shouldn’t have thrown in so many picks and all that but at the time the Bradley Beal trade made a lot of sense just saying so I can’t really make a case um I give it I I’ve said this before i don’t think Bradley be will play for the Phoenix Suns ever again it is still possible that he is under contract with the Suns and he has the no trade clause but clearly this is has not worked i think Kevin Durant gets traded first bradley Beal will probably be second but I it could happen bradley Beiel could get traded after the finals or he could get traded in the middle of like September when nothing’s going on i don’t know i don’t really know if that answers your question but yeah you know okay let’s see um Elbow Jumper asks another great question here question what does a successful season feel like for you for the 202526 campaign well first off if I know Matt Ishbia like I I hope I do it’s championship or bus every single season if you’re a Suns fan I hope that you want the Suns to win a championship because a lot of Suns fans seem like they don’t they just love to crap on this team and it’s all negative and toxic so I hope that Suns fans want the Suns to win a championship but I don’t really know if I can answer this question until I actually see what our team looks like for the most part like I don’t even know who’s going to be playing on the Suns next year except for one name devin Armani Booker devin Booker is not going anywhere he deserves the contract extension give it to him he’s going to be a son for life you heard it here first on Sunse so I’d say championship or bust but I’ll also just say this i just hope that again the Suns can just get us back to playoff contention to let let our name be in there let let our let us be a somewhat high seed and let us win consistently and get back to the playoffs it’s really not that hard to ask um let’s see yeah King i’m not even going to read hypocritical but Suns fans are like “We need Male Bridges back we need Cam Johnson back let’s trade for these guys and let’s get our our championship team back.” First off I think the one thing Suns fans forget about yes we had a great season we won like what 64 games or whatever went to the finals before that yada yada yada do you guys forget that we got absolutely destroyed and embarrassed by not only the not only the Dallas Mavericks but by the Denver Nuggets do you do you guys remember that it was time to move on and I and I love Male Bridges i love Cam Johnson blah blah i love the good vibes and all that guys it was time to move on it was not working it was it was a failure you know sure and like sure maybe there’s a part of me that’s like maybe we should have given it one more season you know like I get it maybe we shouldn’t have traded for KD right away i get it there’s a small part of me that’s like “Sure maybe we should have given it another run.” But what le let’s say we’re in the let’s say we’re in the 2024 season with like DeAndre Aton Bridges Cam Johnson etc and we lose in the playoffs again what happens then you don’t keep that team again you have to blow it up you have to move on and do you guys remember how bad things got with DeAndre Aton like I think Suns fans forget that and again I probably sound hypocritical because I’m wearing my Suns Rally the Valley shirt but it’s true like guys we had to move on from that team like it it had to happen go back and watch those highlights we were embarrassed by not only the Dallas Mavericks but by the Denver Nuggets yeah we won a few playoff games sure we got to the second round sure but fans forget that we didn’t even make it past the second round and like I’m I’m not saying I’m right about everything hindsight they should have they probably should have fired him before the season even ended but I just that’s one thing I don’t think I’ll back down on is like we we had to move on guys we had to move on from Bridges and Cam and and that whole like Valley team you know we just had to man and it’s okay to disagree with me you guys like you have a voice too like I’m wrong i get things wrong like you get things wrong too like nobody’s perfect but I just It was time to move on guys go Google it google game seven Suns versus Mavericks go watch the highlights go Google i think it was games six and was it games five and six of that Maverick series and heck I I know it was Kevin Durant and all them but like even Google Google um just the the the Suns series against the Timberwolves and how we just got absolutely locked down and crushed for the most part i remember game four kind of slowly kind of came down to the wire a little bit but I remember it was like it took all of that and we didn’t even beat the Timberwolves man it just has not worked and it’s like that’s why we’re going to retool and resharpen this roster to hopefully be put back into playoff contention and to hopefully win some playoff games um let’s see uh I enjoy how positive you are about the Suns we share a familiar focus there i’d love to be on an episode of Suns Geek with you one day speaking of that elbow jumper I’ve referenced this before i just need to actually act on it one day I am going to do a show where I sort of do like a callin if you will i was going to do that a while ago but it just but the Beal trade really killed that team i also think that Vogle should have had at least half a season with DA yeah and Vogle should have had half a season longer with the Suns they should have worst case scenario fired him or at least extended his coaching career with the Suns to at least um to at least like the trade deadline they should have kept him one more year and just said “Hey you have until like the trade deadline or like December at least to prove himself.” And I know I don’t really talk about other NBA teams on this channel but like when Tom Tibido got fired from the Knicks first off that kind of came as a shock in my opinion because you were what like three or two games away from the finals I was like I was like “Guys like I I know the Knicks maybe want like a new voice younger coach blah blah blah i get it but like I’m like you should have at least like kept him on for like until the season started and if you get off to a rough start then maybe fire him i don’t know i just I’ve kind of always been like a coach’s defender you know and I don’t really think that was fair of like Tom Tibido get fired i hope he lands on his feet i’m sure he’s still technically under contract with the Knicks so I hope that he’s like enjoying his money and enjoying his time off i hope he lands a job somewhere else even if it’s like an assistant coach if I had Matt Ishb’s money I would I’ would call Tom Tibido and be like “Hey man you want to be like our our second or third assistant i’ll give you whatever you want man.” That’s what I would do anyways but what do I know right you guys know that Devin Booker is my all-time favorite Phoenix Suns player and that’s saying a lot cuz like I love Steve Nash I love Amari Starttomire Shawn Marian so many others Charles Barkley you name it but when we’re talking who like my favorite NBA player of all time is a lot of you guys may not know this believe it or not it’s it’s Allen Iverson i loved Allen Iverson man and the reason I’m talking about this is because today he was responding to so many tweets and he mentioned arguably if not my all-time favorite player Allen Iverson and uh I I have to talk about this because one it’s my show and two again Iverson’s probably my all-time favorite player so he’s like responding to a tweet he was like going back and forth with this one account Dimeropper and Dimeropper just says “I don’t know about that Katie i mean there’s plenty of people defending you on this thread too.” Blah blah blah um but getting a game off a generational team with no real offense co-star I don’t know that would be that would get clowned some would i don’t really know what they were talking about because I I think they’re talking about like Allen Iverson and and you know it’s a long thread i’m not going to sit here and read it but what I’m trying to focus on here is this kevin Durant responds with this just saying to me Allan Iverson is a basketball god amen to that so him winning and losing doesn’t matter he stamped himself as somebody who loved and cared about being great pushing the game forward i know this will be frowned upon as a fan but that’s enough for me guys if you don’t know about Allen Iverson one of the most hardworking toughest players to ever play for the game and he was like what 6 foot one and he was like kind of like small for like he wasn’t like buff or ripped or anything like but he was fast as hell had a killer crossover excellent score probably doesn’t get credit for how like athletic he was like think like Jaw Morant type athleticism but like without like the flashy dunks although he did have a few flashy dunks throughout his career there’s that famous clip of Iverson crossing over Jordan and like crossing over I think it was like Anthony Daniels I think like so many great highlight i could go on and on about Allan Iverson but like he changed the game with like him being so rebellious about fashion and like staying true to himself and just one of the greatest scorers one of the greatest players of all time probably would be a little more recognized if he won a championship or two which sucks like he’s argu arguably my all-time favorite player and he never won a title man um yeah i I I love Allen Iverson and I love that Kevin Durant we’re going to show this tweet one more time called him a basketball god and says he stamped himself as somebody who loved and loved and cared about being great in pushing the game forward i love that man that’s that’s one of the greatest players of all time one of the greatest players of all time um you know what I just thought about too before we kind of wrap this up i think I’m only going to go for like eight more minutes and then we’ll we’ll get out of here um assuming Kevin Durant is traded I kind of can’t wait for Durant to like be interviewed by certain media members and maybe talk about like because obviously him and Deon Booker are like super close but I can’t wait for Kevin Durant to rant to like talk about Devin Booker now that he was with him for like what two and a half seasons and talk about Booker’s like work ethic and just I can’t wait for him to talk about Booker in in a better light so anyways like kind of like I’ve been saying too and I forgot who first reported it but Kevin not Kevin Durant uh Devin Booker is um you know eligible and most likely will sign like a two-year I think it’s like a $150 million extension and uh yeah can’t wait for that because Devin Booker is going to be a son for life elbow Jumper says “Twitter Suns fans,” in quotations “will disappear and move on with the KD trade.” I kind of hope so i’m sure a few of them will still be around for a while but you know they’re all going to follow Katie and hopefully the Sun’s toxic the william says “I bought an Eighton Valley jersey.” That’s funny man um I I don’t know if I don’t think I ever did buy a DeAndre Aton jersey i think I have a Rising Stars DeAndre Aton jersey but not a uh not a not a Suns DeAndre Aton jersey saul says “I hope this front office is much better than the last i’m just speaking about the GM i was John I was done with JJ for about three seasons damn um I wasn’t done with with James Jones until I think this like past season like I I I kind of gave him a chance for a little bit but once we once we started like nine and two and then started like derailing from there I was like done and even prior to that I was like James Jones should be on the hot seat i kept saying it i was like “Guys like when does James Jones get on the hot seat when does James Jones start taking blame for all this?” And I know there’s like some defenders that are like “Well it was Matt Ishbia who who was overriding all of his decisions and if Matt Ishbia wasn’t in there like maybe James Jones would still be be jamming.” Guys kind of like I said before James Jones’s contract was going to expire either way it was time to move on we failed we didn’t even make the playoffs i don’t see how James Jones keeps his job when you have the most expensive NBA roster in NBA history and you do not make the playoffs some people call it a demotion that James Jones is now like a senior adviser or something it is a demotion and he deserved it now he’s not 100% at fault but he is the general manager and I’ve said this so many times on this channel GMs and coaches always go first and that’s why you know I know Josh Bartlestein’s still there and yada yada yada but like wouldn’t surprise me if there’s some other moves to be made in the front office i think a few of them
