Hour 4: John Karalis on Austin Ainge & Utah Jazz | Slacker Radio Headlines | Feedback of the Day
join DJPK Monday at the Hope in Motion Invitational at Thanksgiving Point this isn’t just a golf tournament it’s a chance to drive real change for children with developmental disabilities in your community that’s great you know Brian wrote this song Good Vibration the other guy oh this is going to be hit and he said “Yeah I know.” That point he was writing a lot of hits he would recognize a hit when he wrote one right yep djpk it’s 975 the zone john Carales joins us now covering the Boston Celtics for the Boston Sports Journal he’s also the host of Locked on Celtics john good morning good morning guys how you doing we are doing well we are doing well a lot of jokes out here about Utah turning into Boston West we were curious with Austin Ariving out here danny A is here obviously you’ve got the head coach with a Celtics background you got multiple people throughout the organization uh who’ve crossed paths in that area what was the reaction when Austin A came out here to join the Celtic West party uh you know not completely shocked um that he would do that uh it’s a great opportunity for him to be you know the the guy in charge i think it’s a natural progression for him um he’s he’s worked a long time and done a lot of jobs in the Suffix organization so um getting getting an opportunity like this uh Utah or somewhere else uh I I thought you know he he was if anybody in that Celtics front office was was ready to to make that move I thought I think often making the jump makes sense how much on the job training does he actually have for this job because it’s different but yet he probably was doing some stuff that allowed him to have some experience his father talked about he came on our show last week talked about the Nesmith kid that was during COVID and they only allowed one person in the gym and Austin was the one who went and so uh his father and the others took that recommendation they drafted the kid and so forth so I’m just wondering how qualified he is actually is based on the years of experience that he has look I I think he’s qualified um I know there’s a lot of talk about you know oh he’s Danny’s kid uh and but he’s also Austin age he’s he’s his own person he’s had a pretty big role uh with the organization after Danny left it’s not like he was hanging around as doing like somebody doing him a favor he was doing work here uh in a su a very successful front office so obviously when you’re Danny’s son you learn from one of the best people to to ever run franchises he’s he did an incredible job Danny did in Boston and you know Austin has very tight intimate knowledge of how Danny proceeded and and negotiated and all of that stuff but then on his own he has been part of this front office in Boston working with Brad Stevens it’s a tight-knit group like I think one of the the best qualities of this front office in Boston is collaborative effort and Brad Brad values everybody’s opinion and Austin has I think handled a lot of the draft related stuff but has also been in on a lot of the negotiations and understanding the you know ins and outs of collective bargaining agreements and I think you know working with some of the people in that front office about kind of how to manipulate collective bargaining agreements is going to be a big thing like he knows that within every agreement no matter how restrictive there is there is some wiggle room and and some way to kind of make it work to your advantage somehow whether it’s something with your own team or taking advantage of what other teams are trying to do so I think this is I I I think he’s qualified i I never once thought that it was you know I’ve never once questioned the move i I think Austin is prepared as prepared as anybody’s going to be i know it’s his first time doing this but I think understanding the collaborative nature of everything he is going to take a lot of a lot of people’s opinions into account i don’t think he’s coming in there think like like we hear some GMs going like “All right this is my team i’m firing all these people i’m doing my thing and all that stuff.” I think he understands that you got to keep the good people around there might be some need to kind of retool some stuff but it’s I I I I really have a lot of confidence in him you talk about uh you know being dialed into what other teams might be doing the Celtics we’ve heard about the sale and we’ve heard about uh the the heavy penalties they’ll be facing if their payroll does indeed go to $227 million next year holy cow is Tatum gonna is Tatum going to be on the move are they interested in an inexpensive player that they could acquire in the draft because I look at teams 2 five and eight in this year’s draft and think they all could uh find a way to take on a big salary and and get the Celtics out from underneath some of that money tatum and Brown are 27 and 28 tatum’s just um obviously had this major injury there have been rumors about Brown getting traded do you really think it’s going to happen or is everybody just talking and speculating because that’s half the fun of the NBA i I I think well everybody loves to speculate so that’s that’s that’s the fun part this is why July is the most heavily traffked month in everybody’s you know website podcast people love talking about trade speculation all of that stuff uh as far as what Boston is aiming to do they are trying to get off of salary but they’re not trying to blow it up just yet um I think there’s some confidence in Boston about how Tatum is going to recover from this Achilles injury uh he’s young enough and the you know had the surgery the the very next day which is rare um I believe he had the the the new kind of surgery that is is designed to kind of get guys back it in it accelerates the healing process so I I feel like there’s a confidence in Boston that they can accomplish some of their financial goals and move a couple of guys but keep obviously keep Tatum keep Jaylen Brown keep Derek White and maneuver uh with some of those other moves maybe a couple of pieces to fill in some gaps and still be a contender and you know you can get Tatum back at some point in January and February and maybe maybe he’s going to be ready for a playoff run and Jayen Brown just got knee surgery to clean up the miniscus tear and he’ll be ready for training camp so I think they’re going to try to contend one more year but Drew Holiday is available porzingis is available i think Sam Hower is available so there are valuable guys whether it’s leadership qualities in Holiday expiring contract unique skill set in Porzingis despite him not being always healthy uh and and you know a 40 plus percent shooter in Sam Hower there there are bargains available in Boston so we know that they don’t want to take back full value for these guys so I think that’s where other teams have to focus their attention um and then you know we can revisit this at the trade deadline to see how the season is going and how teams recovery is going to go but for this summer I would expect the holiday preser kind of plan to to be how Boston progresses and then then they’ll figure it out as as the season goes on sometimes after all the research and all the film study and all the discussion and interviews and everything you got three or four guys that you want to possibly take and it comes down to gut instinct now I think the Elder Angels had a great gut instinct what do you think and it’s a tough question to answer I understand but what do you think that Austin’s gut instinct would be as far as being successful well I think as far you talking about the draft yeah or or mostly the draft but yeah yeah well I I I I kind of liked what he said just in general speaking in general first uh where you talk about stacking good decisions and it’s a great way to put it and and I think it’s something like that that’s that almost comes out of Brad Stevens mouth you know stacking good decisions is the best way to build a team uh you don’t want to make mistakes you don’t want to compound mistakes and sometimes the decisions you have to make are difficult but if they’re the right decision then it’s going to work out for your team as far as the draft goes it’s it’s understanding what the NBA uh the direction of the NBA what’s most highly valued and then what what are you looking for on your team and I think with Utah it’s kind of wide open so are you’re looking for is the person that you’re looking for in this draft your superstar or are you looking to trade for your superstar and he can go in a couple different directions um I I I just feel like he’s he’s if he follows the plan with Danny and with Brad and yeah he’s going to put his own spin on it but I don’t think he’s going to be the guy that says “Well this guy is here and he’s our he’s our best shot at it right now so we’re going to make him our superstar.” If that’s if if the people you have on your roster are not going to be the guy if they’re not capable of being the number one then they will move and and I think Danny and Brad have shown that you can make tough decisions with good players with popular players and succeed because both Danny and Brad have made big bold moves and they’ve worked out so I think Austin has kind of seen like hey tough a tough call it even an unpopular call can be made if it moves the franchise in the right direction so um I think I think it he I mean everybody in this job in this league has an ego but if you approach it in an egoless way and kind of say you know I I trust in my my decision-m process but I trust in anybody else’s I think his approach with the draft and the you know the trades are going to be whatever the best decision is at this moment for the team at this time and whatever that is now it doesn’t necessarily mean that this is going to be how he approaches everything it’s just at this point in this decision this is the best thing to do and then next time something comes up we’re going to compartmentalize and we’re going to say what is the best thing for the franchise and if it’s moving a popular player or moving a very good player um sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move to move forward i think you got to be willing to do all of that stuff what do you think the lessons are that NBA front office people and coaches are taking away from this season these playoffs and this era of team building in this under this collective bargaining agreement what do you think the lessons are yeah I think Yeah I think the lessons are spit matters um it’s we’re not in an era anymore of just compiling talents and saying your top two or three guys are going to carry you through because you can have excellent players but if the fit isn’t there uh with the rest of your team then that that’s a problem and NBA defenses are so complex now that you have to have guys that all complement each other um you can’t have you can’t have locker room issues you can’t have uh chemistry issues you have to you have to have everybody from top to bottom from ownership down to you know the guy the kids wiping the floor like everybody has to be kind of on the same page and working together on a common goal and if anybody is kind of stepping out of that then you have to address that either it’s an internal thing or you have to make a decision roster-wise with a player like that and make sure that the guys you have because the guys you have work because the collective look at the Indiana Pacers the collective is what’s working you can’t tell me that that Indiana Pacers roster is at first glance a championship roster that but when they work together and they have a coach that can maximize what those players do then you have a chance to win a lot of games look at OKC yeah Shay Gildus Alexander is talented but he’s also you know the the the Clippers traded him he wasn’t like a cornerstone guy he’s just a guy that has worked and works well with these other players and it’s the collective the Celtics had Jason Tatum obviously Jaylen Brown obviously but getting the collective that all worked together you have to have the rights of guys you have to understand who you have in that locker room and and what ingredients are missing you are a chef in a sense and you have to continuously add and take away ingredients until you get the mix right and sometimes that means literally stirring the pot and sometimes that means letting it simmer but you have to know what to do and when so I think the the the lesson is it’s not just big wild swings for the most talent making sure the guys that you have fit together uh or else it it really runs the risk of falling apart yeah I think that’s a fact you know his father had the reputation as being a gunslinger in terms of making trades what do you think that Austin will end up with a reputation say like 5 10 years from now you know it’s interesting i I I feel like that the the genealogy is that bold trades are going to be there um and and what that is it it just means a being unafraid to take the swing right when you it’s it’s a it’s looking at your team honestly and removing emotion because like I always say like I’d be a horrible GM because I get emotionally invested in the players that I talk to you know when you’re when you’re on the ground and you’re talking to these guys all the time you’re like “Man this is a good dude he’s popular with the with the uh fans and you know he he does X Y and Z and it’s it’s so you know meaningful and you have to remove that emotion from that and be like yeah but he also doesn’t do this and he doesn’t quite fit and as much as he’s a good person and a good teammate this you know these factors work against him and it just it’s not the right fit for our team and so we have to make this move and I think Austin is aware of that um the I think the number one problem that front offices get into is falling victim to the pressure of appeasing the whims of fans and you want to put a product out there for the fans you are working to give the fans the best team possible but the difference is making the tough decision whatever it is whether it’s a draft whether it’s a trade whether it’s a coach no matter what the fans will will come around if the team is winning so I look at in Boston Marcus Smart being moved Robert Williams being moved those moves brought in Drew Holiday Christoph Porzingis and there was a lot of a lot of talk over that summer a couple summers ago where it’s like I can’t believe they moved this guy you know fan favorites this guy career Celtic and blah blah blah blah blah and then the Celtic come in and start winning and no one people drop the market smart thing immediately so I think Austin understands the you know the tough portion of this job where you remove the emotion you rely on the facts you rely on just the sometimes the the truth is just staring you in the face and you’ve got these walls of emotional attachment between you and the truth if you can remove those walls it’ll tell you what you need to do and that’s where Danny made the big bold moves that’s where Brad Stevens made the big bold moves uh and I think that’s where Austin I think he just just knowing his demeanor uh I think he gets like sometimes the tough it’s tough and but you just got to treat these these people like adults everybody understands that this is a business if you have to make a tough trade you call a person up and say “I’m sorry that we had to do this um understand that it’s business and we wish you nothing but the best of luck and we’re happy to help facilitate your transition however we need to.” And boom it’s done so I think he’s that type of guy so I anticipate him being you know having a similar lack of fear when it comes to making tough decisions john we appreciate the insight and the time thanks for hopping on with us this morning and may you get massive numbers in July thanks guys appreciate it all right John Corales covering the Boston Celtics for Boston Sports Journal and the host of Locked On Celtics everything you missed in this show next and one new thing that PJ PK discovered in the last break we will get to that next stay with us accessing This is H Sen and Scotty G what I’m observing right now with this Utah Giants organization as a whole is it’s a full-on leveled commitment when you extended Will Hardy to the 2031 season after a 17- win season and then you bring in an Austin Austin’s not coming in for a pit stop right no this is a higher job than a general manager he’s essentially running an NBA team he’s got a general manager that will report to him he will report to Danny A and Ryan Smith so Austin A is right now kind of your face of the Utah Jazz it may not be so publicly but make no mistake this is a major hire by the Utah Jazz catch Hansen Scotty weekdays from noon to 3 on 975 the KSL Sports Zone 9 a.m select radio headlines brought to you by Trade and wealth call Trade and wealth today your local trusted financial fiduciary 801899-7600 or visit their website at trajunwealth.com before we get to everything we covered in this show you saw a player poll in the last break well the break before last now do share with the people people love a good list we’ll get to we’ll get to another list this list matters more has more authority than the first list you presented this morning uh he surveyed 135 MLB players and uh it was who do we like to watch the most and show was number one by a wide margin yeah he had the 29 votes 29 votes the next two combined had 24 bobby Wit Jr ronald Akuna Jr so has been hurt devastating injuries the last few years he’s a very good player obviously can remember one time that I saw the social media Phillies are playing the Braves in Atlanta and Harper’s leaning over you know they got that railing with the padding as they do and they lean over the dugout and a guy about the third row harper Harper Aun is better a is better harper Harper is better you’re no good a is better harper turns around it’s a it’s not a kuna it’s not a cuda it’s got the till day over the end auna yeah i have my favorite player to watch is Mookie Betts came in uh fifth on the list ellie de la Cruz hard to argue with that the people if that’s Oh for sure that guy’s right three steps he’s on second base three strides I should say who goes first to third faster than that guy and the one thing that’s cool about him is I saw that he wanted to be able to speak to the fans directly so he learned English he feels comfortable enough to do his interviews in English always good to see players connect yeah aaron Judge tied for six with Francisco Lindor so well Lindor oh my gosh a couple years ago I went over to watch two games with the Mets in Colorado and he he leads off he goes deep in the first inning so leading off the game he goes deep you would have thought you were in uh New York the amount of noise that the Mets fans made it just took me by surprise that many in Colorado of all places i get the Yankees i understand that but the Mets too yeah yeah yeah and Aaron Judge yeah absolutely wow what a player uh he’s having a historic season if he continues this it’s going to be one of the top five seasons of all time they they might forget the five-year grace period boom hall of Fame right now there were players in the comments who said uh there aren’t enough hours in the day to get good at pitching and hitting and quote quotes from show he is not of this world they are beyond impressed i don’t know what’s a better word than odd whatever it is that’s it well he hasn’t been pitching the last couple years so we don’t know how that’s going to be and there were things you don’t know how the saying of Tommy John’s going to go right but he was electric on the mound i hope he’s back that kind of stuff okay but what did it do to his offense his offense has been better his offense is electric also i know but as electric it remains to be seen what’s going to happen there how are they going to plan they basically put in the rule change the rule on the DH when you take him out if he’s a position player blah blah blah it’s the the show rule so he can stay in the game which it’s entertainment man and he is even even to his fellow millionaires in the dugout they find him wildly entertaining number one by a wide margin no one whether it’s on the concourse or in the in the clubhouse you’re not going to the bathroom when he’s up at bat i mean everybody hold it it’s show time right yeah he hit a triple last night oh yesterday afternoon he also had one that was uh up the middle i don’t I don’t people realize this but this dude can motor and it was a bang bang at first base on a fairly routine not totally routine but he almost outran a fairly routine ground ball for an infield single yeah and then he gaps one and uh just man he’s so huge too he’s a big dude a lot of those Japanese are smaller not show he’s a big man and he looked like a train when you when they get the camera on and you can see him coming at you from second to third and he’s a locomotive running down very exciting player no doubt there is a little bit of college basketball news and this is something uh you’ve always said with a little bit of basketball history and they’re crossing paths so it gets my attention uh a center from Bosnia 19year-old sevenfooter elmer Zafic DZ- A FIC I don’t know elmer Ler E L M I R okay maybe it’s El yeah he is committed to wait for it Arkansas what do you always say about Caliperry this guy knows pros right so many pros so this kid probably is and where’s he been playing in the Adriatic League didn’t know what the Adriatic League was until the Joker came along it’s over there in Adria isn’t it it’s in Adria yeah i think it’s the Adriatic Sea that it’s named for oh not the land of Adria i thought it was I thought it was like the Australian League is in Australia right i think this for the Adriatic Sea so it’s not the same not exactly no no no what here’s your major continents yach north America South America europe Africa Asia Australia and Adria those are your continents oh wait i was thinking of Balboa adria all right well keep keep your eye on the uh I’m on Balboa looking at Adria okay keep your eye on the sevenfooter from Bosnia because Caliperry’s got a history of finding pros and he’d be the second pro out of the Adriatic League and he’s a seven foot center he’s only 19 but he’s going up and he’s from the country of Adria he’s going No he’s he’s not from the country of Adria from Bosnia because I always thought the same thing stop i don’t even know what you think you spoke Norwegian you were from Norwegia from Norwegia yeah no well how does it make any sense you’re from Norway you’re freaking Brazil and you speak Portuguese that is why you got to be from Portugal that is why u Well that don’t make no sense portugal colonized Brazil that’s why they speak Portuguese okay but we speak English i’ve been reading all this stuff here today and yesterday that Mexico owns this property and how come they speak Spanish and we speak English put it all together and it’s very very confusing i’ll put it all together it’ll make sense it’s why it’s so impressive that Ellie de la Cruz prioritize learning English to connect with the fans he thought that was important because in the English language there’s a lot of rules and then there’s a lot of exceptions to the rules right there there and there go figure right one word three different spellings means three different things see well there’s also a papal decree that helped Portugal end up holding on to Brazil but a papal decree that that that’s the extension of the Rocky movies is it not yes papal decree papal decree it wasn’t big at the box office but it crushed it online with a streaming service yeah it was on the streaming service direct to streaming yeah papal decree man that guy’s buff it’s like Shaw Shank Redemption is it not didn’t not in the studios but then it had this second life and ended up being legendary and also with Ellen De Cruz learning English connect with the fans and connect with your bank account hey sometimes doing the right thing pays off well that that’s what’s amazing to me is you got guys like Pedro Martinez uh um Ortiz these guys come from foreign countries and they’re huge in this country yes they learn the language yep and they relate and and and they’re all over the place and that’s just genius on behalf of these guys to be able to do that we talked NBA Finals today game three all hail the Pacers bench what does it mean for team building going forward might this help the Jazz the Pacers bench outscores the Thunderb 49 to 18 tj McConnell 10 points five assists five steals just 15 minutes huge impact on the game dj Max I don’t think so oh that’d be nice just random association mcconnell Max I’m going to go with it dj can roll with about anything in this segment he has it’s worth asking you never know right so in a search for a better bench that is propelling the Pacers now within two games of the first NBA title ever might people come calling the Jazz have a a lot of players who could fit on a lot of rosters somewhere between the fourth and ninth best player they got a lot of players who can help i think Colin Ston is obviously someone who could be targeted for that role but I’d be intrigued to know around the league and of course no one wants to tip their hand especially if there’s you know potential deal down the line if teams are looking at some of the first and second year guys soon to be second and third but guys who played one or two years for the Jazz here the six guys you like to reference five first round picks and Philip Powski if these players are viewed as like hey let’s that guy get that guy in half a season a year a year and a half he could really be something for us and we’re up against it financially and this guy’s a young guy on a lesser contract well I think you know that Flipper and George can score so there ought to be interest in them right away collier can get to the hoop and pass and run your offense a little bit coming off the bench yes u who else am I missing oh sensible ball can he not score he can score if he was given a bigger role it’s very baffling to me how he’s been used he’ll go for 20 something and then he gets 15 minutes i’m not sure what’s going on there with him i think it could be more than one thing which is why it’s hard it’s why you’re baffled because I think to agree a lot of people are i think sometimes his playing time has been limited because they don’t want to reward someone who is messing up assignments uh on either end of the floor yeah it’s really going to cost him winning and losing and and I also wonder on the nights when he’s really been shooting it well I can’t I really can’t figure out the rotation it’s like are they worried he’s going to shoot him into a win so that’s why he’s not sitting in this case on this night he’s sitting because he there’s something he isn’t doing but on this night he’s sitting because there’s something he is doing and so you look for a pattern how he’s used you can’t figure it out because there’s more than one thing happening and Will Hardy will say a lot of things in his media availabilities both before the game and after the game but that might be one thing that you know he wouldn’t be super eager to blurt out i mean you can’t admit the one because that’s admitting tanking so you don’t want to go there you don’t want to admit the other because you don’t want to embarrass a young guy you’re being hard enough on private and you you don’t want to go out in public and say “Hey so you can embarrass an old guy.” Yeah probably veteran can handle it a little better than a kid but no I think coaches largely don’t want to embarrass NBA players they talk about team because I usually just blow off your screw-ups thanks yeah I let it go or the Diamondbacks for 500 you let that one go no you didn’t i was checking yes you were i think you knew though there was 34 and 34 i think I know for sure i thought but I was retail places to get the ultra big flag to call the ultra big flag i Yeah I let that you don’t call things out ever what that was pretty obvious though that was I had to save him to allow it to be dumped it’s a major mistake there yeah i mean you one letter can make a big difference in a world it really and it goes back to the English language not that right a word what happened first look into your crystal ball stop it you my only regret in life is that we never retained who put the DNLs that’s your only regret yes i think somebody broke into the system and deleted it no because if I did I would have deleted 20 things you can count on it he thought I don’t know maybe I would have deleted 40 i’m not sure how many romy hip cool cutting edge his his boy Jim Ro just going clever who put Yeah that’s what I thought you thought you were being clever who i don’t really associate that with Jim that’s a weird one but man he clever yes you know that right i just want to be clear is that Jake in the background yeah yeah Jake Scott yeah you guys are laughing at me i’ve never laughed at you beyond anything that was harmless okay all in good fun uhhuh wherever you get your podcast listen to Brian Taylor on the US Open uh where he thinks the scores are going for this tournament and John Carales covering the Boston Celtics on Austin moving to Utah Boston West and what we’ve learned from these uh playoffs and how bold Austin might be wherever you get your podcast DJPK your feedback is next and it’s all over almost here don’t go nowhere nominate the youth sports volunteer that you know for the Hercules here of the week submit your nomination at kslports.com/contest and listen every Thursday afternoon to JJ and Alex for the winner help us celebrate the efforts of those volunteers making an impact with the Hercules Hero of the Week sponsored by Hercules First Federal Credit Union and Beehive Meals djpk it’s 975 the zone it’s time for your feedback i’m going to retweet this PK let’s hit this right now this uh just repost that i just retweeted the shot from the PGA Tour find someone you can trust as much as these fans trust Rory Mroy and I think I think there’s a fairway over here but doesn’t it look like he’s hitting a golf ball from about 50 60 yards away right at him out of the rough could be yeah and I think the way he’s set up he’s actually going to be on him but it does look it does look dangerous give people your sand tip what sand tip well the ball comes out of the rough it can it’s unpredictable where it can go i mean any shot’s unpredictable the rough’s really unpredictable but we were just talking about sand shots and you’re like like literally this could be life and death like this one rule on golf courses that everyone you just learn in the game you can’t even nowhere near breaking a 100 you need to know this yeah no matter where you are in the sand trap you never turn your back no matter where the person is who’s hitting the shot you never turn your back on someone in the sand trap because you just don’t know how that ball is going to come out i’ve hit some perfectol like shots out of the sand and scold it 50 yards right and you could hit a screamer that could drop somebody who’s not paying attention yeah all right so it’s time for your feedback here we go and a lot of reaction today to what kind of impact did Brian Wilson have on music brent as far as American pop rock musicians he is at the top of the list i I I think I’d have to agree with that the whole sound is directly associated with him it’s correlated with him i don’t know that we have anybody like that in music michaels is a big one the Beach Boy should be mentioned with the likes of Aerosmith The Beatles the Stones just pure greatness yeah if you liked the two minute and 30 second little pop tune then that’s your that’s your band right there and there and there like seems like there’s 200 of them and he just cranked them out brandon says Brian Wilson is the MJ Paul McCartney is Kobe and LeBron is Nickelback see why you got to be like that Brandon i would also put Lennon up there too got to put him in the mix uh how about uh Michael Jackson as a performer he’s at the top of the list elvis he would be going down to Mount I’m going down Mount Rushmore right now we’re still talking about these people 50 60 years later yep so yes marvin says “When other engine when other legends like Mick Fleetwood Paul McCartney and others call you a genius and say that you influence their music yeah you’re special.” Yeah yeah yeah i saw a lot of those tributes out there doesn’t matter what my opinion is doesn’t matter what your opinion is let’s listen to Paul McCartney’s opinion yes yes yeah justin he’s a lot bigger than people are giving him credit for i’m not sure that’s accurate man mccartney’s giving you a shout out i’m not sure exactly what more you would want i think his impact has been universally beloved and acknowledged garrett dude played at Lagoon you might say we launched his career he will be missed lagoon huh i think Southern California launched his career but hey why not davis County take a bow and they don’t do that anymore right uh I don’t think so i haven’t heard of that yach have we given away any tickets to concerts at Lagoon recently no i wonder why that stopped how different was Lagoon then versus now that had to been in the 60s obviously I’m sure there’s a money equation there i don’t know how big the Beatles or the Beatles i don’t know how big the Beach Boys were at that uh point oh so they’re just starting i see they’re just starting you know there’s a whole economic deal you know well like yeah during co I had tickets to see Morgan Wallen at the complex well he not playing the complex now and finally Garrett ranks all the Big 12 football coaches with Kyle number one and Colani number five is this accurate now you had a question you wanted answered but you didn’t pose the question you asked if it was accurate they answered the question you didn’t ask the question you really wanted which is like “Why did Garrett make a list?” And why do we care and who the belief is Garrett i’m surprised nobody said that like who’s this dude and I just put I didn’t put his affiliation i just put his name and I went looking for it cuz I was curious like I don’t know him they’re like CBS Sports or some new guy and I like some rando starting out whatever but the list well first of list wasn’t bad there were a couple things in it I didn’t
