what do you know Spurs fans another Spurs rumor what is up San Antonio Spurs fans welcome to CSR Sports and rumors of course running rampant about the Spurs possibly trading down with the Philadelphia 76ers started this morning I was like well I wouldn’t be a Spurs channel content creator if I didn’t cover in some regards is trading down with the Philadelphia 76ers possible i’ll give my two cents on that in just a few moments but let’s get into this article from Philly Voice that’s right we’re actually going to look at it from the other side and see what they have to say about our Spurs sources the 76ers have engaged with the Spurs about potentially moving up to the number two pick for now the Sixers have zeroed in on four NBA draft prospects with the number three pick including a private workout last week with VJ Edgecomb and Ace Bailey visiting Philadelphia next week hey what’s got to say the move would theoretically be done to secure the ability to draft Ruggers guard Dylan Harper who the Spurs right now are expected to pick second overall why would San Antonio move their pick there is yet to be any indication that they are seriously considering considering doing so but there have been many people wondering if a move like this could be in the cards for the Spurs whose backcourt already has former all-star and recent trade acquisition Dear Fox and rookie of the year award winner Stefon Castle not to mention Deon Vel in the back court while the Sixers could want to move up for Harper because they think he has far and away a better chance becoming a franchise altering player than anyone they could draft at number three a Spurs team already armed with Fox and Castle to port to support young superstar center Victor Wemanyama has the right to worry more about roster fit what if San Antonio would rather have Harper’s teammate Ace Bailey to keep a Fox Castle backcourt humming what if they think the gap between Harper and other guards in this class BJ Edgecomb or Trey Johnson is not as wide as most do the conversation becomes awfully interesting does it now Philly voice does it let’s scroll down the article skip ahead a bit the most realistic framework of a deal is probably the Sixers giving up number three of course a pick from this year’s draft and perhaps number 35 another second rounder now with the future first round pick that San Antonio can credibly claim has significant upside that pick would be the Los Angeles Clippers 2028 unprotected firstrounder which the Sixers acquired in the James Harden deal who knows if Quin L is going to still be playing by that time the Clippers are hurting for draft capital moving forward they could be pretty bad for all we know in 2028 moving along to the article i Oh was that it that was it moving done with the article that’s right i wanted to get my two cents all right all right let’s get to the question I asked earlier would TSR do this for pick number three that Clippers unprotected pick in 2028 and another second rounder that we wouldn’t use no I would not do that if you really want pick number two you’re going to pay give us pick number three that 2020 Clippers first rounder we talked about and how about a pick swap in 2029 the Spurs don’t have any pick swaps that year philly who the heck knows what’s going to happen with them joel Embiid is falling apart literally right before our eyes paul George probably won’t be there it could be a totally different team in 2029 could be a better team could be a worse team for our Spurs we’re hoping will be a championship team at that point so yes maybe I would do it for that i’m not exactly tied to Dylan Harper i do have some concerns with the fit and there’s no guarantee he’s going to be a home run either yes I understand draft the best player available at number two but he could end up being a bus but then he’s fail likely but it’s all risk high risk high reward high risk high reward but you know what if I’m Brian right and I do this trade I trade down one spot you know what I’m doing then Spurs fans i’m gonna get crazy here i’m trading down again maybe to the Wizards to the Nets I don’t know i get more draft capital for the future to reload with young prospects or trade for vets in the future and if I trade down again maybe I draft Canipple at six or eight i mean we pretty much thought that was going to be the guy the Spurs drafted until they went way up until the lottery to number two and then maybe a starting lineup look like WBY Sohan Canipple Castle Fox or maybe they draft my lunch i don’t know whatever the Spurs do it’s Malwatch by the way if you don’t know we have options and that’s one thing I keep talking about on this channel is our Spurs have so many options they can go ahead and draft Dylan Harper number two and if they do I will be happy i will be happy i’ll be like “Okay I’m all in with DH doesn’t need a hitter let’s do it.” If they trade down and we get a great deal for it okay all in who we drafting are we taking Bailey taking somebody else if they trade down multiple times not not out of the top don’t trade down at the top 10 but I will certainly support the decision as long as it’s reasonable and it makes sense one thing I want to add to this video is I know some Spurs fans say like TSR if we’re trading now with the 76ers wouldn’t it not make sense to have the Sixers extend or sign and extend Yahoo Sing trade for him i would say no the only reason being is he’s going to be a free agent if he really wants to play with the Spurs play with his former Olympic teammate Victor Wimbeyama then he’ll sign with us anyway and that’s certainly a player I would certainly like to see over in San Antonio come on we’re not well not we i mean Connecticut texas is a no tax state connecticut is very much a heavy tax state we’re one of the top six I think worst in the US anyway that’s not a here or there i It’s going to be a lot of rumor mills from the next gosh it’s less than two weeks is it not guys is it Is it on a Wednesday or Thursday is it the 25th or 26th the first round of the NBA draft i don’t remember i think it’s Wednesday and Thursday correct me if I’m wrong but it’s less than two weeks the rumors are going to fly about left and right i’m very curious to your thoughts because I know we talked about this at length but if the price is right would you trade number two for number three if the Sixers really do even want to move up because this could all be smoke gustin you know all the nonsense we see around draft time and offseason with the free agents and trades etc but if there’s any gravage to this story would you trade number two for number three that unprotected first round pickers pickers Clippers pick in 28 and another firstrounder or are you still on the same you know path we’ve been on TSR we’re drafting Dylan Harper done and I respect that listen I’ve said it already in this video if it happens sure i have a little concerns with the fit but I also am thinking long term that Darren Fox is not going to be here forever i think the Spurs will probably you know he’s got one year left on his contract extend him for three we don’t want to overdo it maybe they even only extend it for two and eventually the back court is Harper and Castle fox will age out a bit his game is very dependent on his speed as he gets older that speed’s going to decline so it it makes sense but no matter what happens no matter what happens Spurs fans in this draft Brian Wright pop in the front office need to address the size issue on this team there’s not enough length there’s not enough girth they need some bigs out there we talked about it at length when he comes off the court the wheels fall off we need a capable big in the back court we need to get some more size in the starting unit brian Wright please don’t mess it up please do not draft three guards in this draft i Harper’s already guard number one i’ve seen some Oxhams taking a guard with the 14th pick and the second rounder i’m like what what are we going ultra small ball is our offense that good so it’ll be a fun time drop a comment down below Last night had a dream, that ace Bailey was better pick for Spurs. Waking up to this rumor seems like spurs feel the same
If the Spurs need wings and front court depth, just upgrade your roster and guards specifically by taking the best overall player at #2 Harper. Trade your lesser guard talent for that wing or front court veteran. AND you can still pick a wing or front court player with the #14 in “one of the deepest draft in years”, or are we not calling it that anymore.

I say the Spurs should draft Harper any other moves for vets right now is going to limit our flexibility in the future and bringing on Victor's contract ia going to limit us extremely in the upcoming years. I don't care if the alien has grown to 7 ft 6 if he doesn't work out in the future, he doesn't work out there's no reason to risk the team's future for one man's dream, and that's some real real GSG
I saw the news on an other channel. It make sense only if we secure KD. Baley would fit better in this line up + we could have an other asset from the 76ers as a player. Harper is compared to James Harden. The GM or Owner is in love with Harden and already made huge mistake in order to get him. If he loves Harper as he loves Harden maybe (that's the theory on this other channel) we could ask for 3 place pick + their last year rookie Mc Cain (front runner for ROTY before his injury)…
I prefer we draft at 2 even if we have KD.
I wound trade #2 to Brooklyn for their #8, 19 and Cam Johnson. Hopefully get Kon at #8 or Maluach. Cam Johnson would be a great addition. Snag Raynaud at #19. Trade our #14 along with Keldon and Vassell and a future draft pick for KD. I think that would get the job done

Trading down from a higher tier of talent to a lower one makes zero sense. Zero. Get the All-Star potential.
Christ, I hope not. I really hope this is just the fog of war. You don't trade down for fits with a talent like Harper's — you draft him, see what he is in 2-3 years, how it all fits with Castle and Fox, and then you make your decision. You evaluate. I love Castle, but if Harper turns out to be better or has better chemistry with Fox and Wemby, then so be it. Or if Fox is the odd man out, so be it. If Harper is a malcontent, then so be it. If one of them proves to be more injury prone, you take that into account. You evaluate. THEN YOU TRADE. You don't draft for "fits" — not at the top like this when there's a very clear 1-2 punch and everyone else is a distant 2nd. Not saying there can't be some sleeper pick that turns into an All-Star or great player (I love Carter Bryant for example) but do we REALLY TRUST Brian Wright to pick that guy? How's his track record with picks OUTSIDE the consensus Top 4, the way Wemby and Castle were. Vassell, Primo, Sochan, Wesley, Branham, Jones… the 2nd rounders… Yeah. I'd say that record is pretty shaky. I really hope the Spurs don't ruin draft night w/some BS like this. Scary times. KD will be a consolation prize… until Harper lights some team up (maybe the Spurs) in another uniform and we're all wondering why Fox only scored 14 points and looked anemic and we start having Sacramento-style what-if scenarios seared into our brains.
The Spurs are really thin in the backcourt if you think about it. Especially since Vassell is really a 3 at this point and Keldon's a 3-4. Think about it. CP3's gone. Jordan's gone. Branham and Wesley are borderline unplayable — certainly in a playoff series, they would be DNPs or garbage time at best. Harper can come in and take all of CP3's minutes and make a major impact in the same way Castle did last year, being put in a lot of different roles: off the bench, starting, whatever.
If we can draft ace and maluach for Harper, it would be a fair trade. Spurs have high regards on maluach afterall.
Trade back and draft Kon and Cedric Coward. Get a big in the second round and trade for another big.
Swap picks and add Jared McCain. Done deal

They’re supposedly trying to win now. In addition to those being bad trades, it pushes the window down the road. Might as well trade Fox at that point. Trading Harper makes ZERO sense. Heard some people trying to add Maxey. That makes even less sense, because he’s 6’2”. Talk about bad fits next to Fox & Castle.
It seems to me like the Spurs don't like having too much draft capital in a single year. It may be difficulty to develop more than 2 rookies at a time. As far as drafting Harper, the Spurs won't know if he is a good fit or not until he is training with the team. There's no guarantee any other player in the draft will fit better but Harper is the best talent and the Spurs were lucky to move up in the lottery to grab that level of talent. Why move back down? For more role players you think might fit? IMO role players are easier to get than high end talent. Look how well Barnes and Paul were able to come in and fit on the team.
I think someone already commented that watching the Pacers and Thunder, we need a deep deep team to compete. We can't rely on three guys. But your idea about trading down several times would be both genius and entertaining.

They get paid the big bucks to help the team evolve into the championship caliber contenders us fans hope will soon become reality. …they don't have anything the spurs would want…I would keep the pick and get Dylan Harper…the spurs played cp3 tre Jones and castle or vassell at the same time…they always has 3 guards on the floor…I would role with a 3 guard line up especially when 2 of those guards are 6.6 and fox is a real offensive player…
I'd rather take VJ Edgecombe over Ace Bailey. Castle and VJ defensively would be lockdown.
Offensively needs to translate to the NBA.
Michael Jordan was drafted 3rd, Larry Bird was 6th, and Steph Curry was 7th. The greats were not always #1 or #2. The Spurs have been pretty good judges of talent. They have to trust their judgment. If they think they can get a great prospect at #3, meet their needs better, and maybe trade for a future pick while they are at it, I trust them more than my own judgment.
I hate all these rumors. I can't wait for the draft. They take harper, I don't get why the media hates the idea of harper to the spurs.
The more i watch the top 10 picks i think VJ Edgecombe is the second coming of Anthony Edwards, and the more i feel like DH could be a bust Lol…. i hope the Spurs really do a good job on this, since we got the 2 pick i've been sayin trade down for ACE.. i think if they trade down VJ could be the best risk , but like TSR i wont be mad if we get DH …

I say see if you can squeeze the Pels for Trey and the #7 for #2 and a couple 2nd’s. Take Knueppel. You could still use #14 to get KD.
Philly picks are nice. Embiid is always a risk. He goes down, you got a lottery ticket.
