This is WAY Better Than We Thought…

folks I got two positive updates for you today i think you’re going to be stoked one on a current Wars player getting surgery again twice this off seasonason means he was more hurt than we knew i know he was out but like this could have been why Brandon Pumpsky’s postseason was impacted what he was dealing with we’ll break down the surgery and his expectation to get back to Warriors basketball secondly trade rumors lowry Markin well last summer folks that was the story this summer it’s not the story because we have Jimmy Butler and Utah did not get the first pick they’re not getting Cooper flag they need Markin so there’s been a story of rumors that he was going to come to the Warriors betting favorites we have an update there a lot to break down on this episode of Warriors Digest myself Randy Silva Arthur we give you all the Warriors news free to see draft been giving you all the draft picks to bring in and to test out subscribe so you don’t miss anything let me make sure we’re set up correctly okay so let’s start with the BP news first pajky underwent second surgery of offseason one surgery is enough two when you’re 22 years old h obviously he’ll bounce back he’ll be fine i mean not obviously like things can happen but he’s young healthy fit here’s the press release from the Warriors underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair a core muscle injury he’s expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of training camp great news that’s obviously uh Septemberish pjmsky previously underwent successful left wrist derment surgery on May 27th drivment however you say it so yes we see him he had his tape like the Jaylen Brunson type of thing we know he was out many times this season core and wrist while playing basketball that’s tough through this at 22 years old again second season he still averaged a careerhigh almost 12 points five rebounds 3.4 assist one steel a game playing 27 minutes a game and when Steph was out you know BP was the main point guard is that something we can do moving forward joe Aob last off seasonason said he thinks Brandon can be the guy the guy will be a future all-star brandon I put out a video a week ago in his um interview with I think it was up and ad up with K Adams says I want to be an all-star with or without Steph you want them to have this type of pedigree you want them to have that pedigree because that’s good i see the comments people saying like oh like he’s full of himself he’ll never get there what do you want your player to be like ah I’ll be a bench player i’ll be a role player or whatever no you want them to reach for the stars bp was one of the standouts with the Olympic Development team last summer and this could maybe make sense why you know he kind of fell off at the beginning of the season BP was not doing good but then as the injuries came on he came back he actually did better which is interesting so if you look right here again he played 10 less games his rookie year averages the same amount of minutes which is very interesting when you play that um 10 less games fuel percentage about the same three-point percentage about the same even with these injuries points went up a bit was necessary uh and he takes a bunch of charges which is great like he’s a good defensive player in that sense does he stay in front of his player a lot no but he does create some turnovers by getting charges if you look at his the um his volume his volume went up but his efficiency basically stayed the same which is a good sign meaning he’s getting better i think with these injuries now gone not linger anymore this will be good news for BP to get healthy and folks I’m very happy about this news the Warriors are unlikely to pursue Lowry Markin i think this is a no-brainer i hate when stupid rumors come up but we have to tell you i mean look at his contract folks like $46 million again he just signed a new contract last off seasonason 46 million per year gets up to 53 million so for the Warriors to do that at their current um roster that means you’d have to give up Draymond and Moody that puts you at 37 million plus Kaminga and a sign and trade healed something like that and again I know you guys say like they never trade Draymond they never do this or whatever i understand that but when you look at the money folks this is why I say it $46 million you can’t just say “Oh trade Trace Jackson Davis Brandon and draft picks.” The money has to work in the salary cap CBA as you’re seeing down below for first apron cap space so marketing in for Draymond I think is a fair trade obviously you’re getting a player much younger he’s 28 been in the NBA for eight years not the same defensive talent of course but a good stretch shooter kind of somebody who would be a good fit next to Steph and Jimmy now again maybe they do a Jimmy Butler for Lowry trade i don’t think so utah’s trying to tank and get younger why are they getting Jimmy that would just be the complete opposite so again don’t do Jimmy for Lowry no you have to look at it from the team perspective that’s not going to work lowry did not play as much last season he had some injuries but also again Utah was trying to go for the Cooper Flag sweep stakes and they lost he only played 47 games so is this also somebody you want to trade for who hasn’t played a full season ever most he’s ever played is 68 games his rookie year since then he’s missed about 20 30 games a year jimmy Butler’s pretty doable durable excuse me draymond’s pretty durable steph is pretty durable i don’t know folks yeah his points went down again he wasn’t playing as much towards the end of the season as Utah was trying to get the highest draft pick to get Cooper flag now again I just don’t think this is a great trade for the Warriors if you look at the money or you look at the stats we look at the roster right now let’s go to depth chart again this is very fluid obviously with the unknown of Jonathan Kaminga looney is a free agent gp2 is a free agent i put out the report the other day that it looks like GP2 may be coming back mutual interest on a cheaper deal i saw people commenting “No we don’t want GP2.” Like but again if you can get a player who’s in the system locker room guy knows the offense and defense and is a good chemistry for like $5 million that is a steal in today’s NBA not having to integrate into the team not having to learn the new system the new new home all that goes with it and somebody who will make Steph happy Draymond happy Jimmy happy because they like him around those are the intangibles that you have to think about as well now I don’t think PJsky should be starting next to Curry i think he needs to come off the bench and you need to get a better shooting guard obviously we had the Anthony Melton had the torn ACL was a great fit next to Curry maybe he comes back after um in this offseason excuse me he was on a one-year deal buddy needs to come off the bench jimmy Draymond so I think Jimmy pops up the small forward draymond on the power forward we need to get a proper center in there to help this team is Lowry Markin a proper center technically they have him at 7 foot 240 playing center but he does play outside the rim more he’s not really known as a rim protector you see here not even a blocking game at 7 foot rebounding fella this year six rebounds a game never averaged double double excuse me double digits in rebounds at seven foot so I don’t think he’s the right fit for the Warriors when you look at the money and the pace i do like Brandon again Brandon is still on his rookie contract so you’re getting Brandon for only $3 million and he produced you 12 points a game at $3 million that’s good steel that’s good deal now it needs to be in a better situation where he’s not having so much pressure sure we saw what happened in the playoffs but again maybe the injuries were affecting him but I like that Brandon’s getting healthy wish him all the best of course and I’m happy that I’ll have to talk about Lowry hopefully moving forward comment your thoughts subscribe we’ll see you on the next video

  1. I wish him well but trade podz for something. He’s limited already, then at 22 has hernia surgery & wrist surgery…it ain’t looking good.

  2. The only players I want in the offseason are guys who are good defenders. When the Warriors plays good defense, they win. And I agree, we do need a better shooting guard starting.

  3. Prioritize forwards and centers should still be our goal. That said if we want a player similar to gp2 but taller and younger. Probably could sign kj martin for a minimum. He's 6'6 and does similar things.

  4. As a fan of the channel, I wouldnt mind seeing Randy and Arthur side by side talk about the available free agents and then debate who would work and wouldn't work as viable pickup for the Warriors. I do feel they both have different opinions on different players, might be an interesting video. I tend to agree with Randy more.

  5. We need to trade Kuminga to Utah for Brice Sensabaugh, KJ martin, and the 21st pick. Draft Maxime Raynaud and sign Brook Lopez to the MLE

  6. I can't see the Jazz's motivation for a Draymond trade. You're correct, they want young players. JK and Moody make sense, but not Dray. JK S&T, Dray, and Moody for Lauri works, but only if JK signs for $ 20 million. I think the Dubs would keep him if JK were willing to sign for that amount. Lauri is overpaid, and we dodged a bullet by not trading the farm for him. He's not a 46 to 53 million per guy. Maybe a low to mid-30s guy at best. Lauri is what he has always been: a good, but not great player who is injury-prone. I understand the fit, but we can't afford to overpay for fit.

  7. Podz was just trash. He cant defend, he cant handle the ball and his shooting is spotty. It wouldnt be an issue if Kerr didnt view him as "THE CONNECTOR"

  8. Laurie is overpaid. You need scoring depth on the Warriors not to waste money and assets on an overpaid players

  9. I hope Danny Ainge will just not be able to find a trading partner for Lauri and will have to be stuck with his contract.

  10. We tryna do all these financial gymnastics and trade away Kuminga instead of doing the obvious and parting ways with Draymond. Here we are keeping an overpaid underperforming player while talking about shipping out a young future cornerstone and present supporting player in Kuminga. Draymond WAS a big part of the championship runs but no longer. He’s just in the way salary wise and in front of our young players. Time to move on.

  11. Warriors will NEVER give up Butler or DG now.. so forget about any players that are making more than $40 per. It's a waste to talk about

  12. Need more All arounder players esp scorers. Surely don't need 50mil big scorer and that's about it from him..

  13. Markannen was playing for the worst team in the NBA last season that was TRYING to lose. If he wasn't so expensive, I'd go for him. Ainge overpaid. However Ainge may want to trade for Dray because Dray's contract is over after next year, or the next. But no it won't happen.

  14. The trade that makes sense for Laurri is JK + Moody + a draft pick. You're looking at JK's old contract, but his new contract will be around $30 million. There's no possibility they trade Dray or Jimmy for him, so I don't know why you're even talking about that. There is NO POSSIBILITY they would do that! Period!

  15. Markannen? Really? And put the future on a guard who is low on assists, already had to get surgery whose best defense move is drawing charges? The only silver lining is the 3.6m contract. I just don’t trust Podz’ odds of keeping healthy.

  16. the fact that super stars are what is being talked about shows that you media people just don't get it. Butler Green and Curry are the core of the team. There will be no super stars added without giving one of them up
