Golden State Warriors Free Agent Targets Before 2025 NBA Free Agency
[Music] what’s going on Dub Nation you’re watching Warriors Today by Chat Sports i am your host Tyler Smith and on today’s show I thought it would be a good time about a little less than three weeks away from 2025 NBA free agency to bring you our first official Warriors free agent targets video i got five names that could be around the mid-level to maybe even a little bit cheaper for the Warriors front office to go out there and spend their cash on but before we get into all of those names I got to make sure you guys are subscribed because when free agency starts we’re bringing you guys non-stop coverage if the Warriors make a move the Warriors make a signing we’re bringing you guys a video so lock us in and hit that sub button as we’re only 60 subs away from our next milestone of 96,000 subscribers so help us on the road to 100K and let’s get 60 more diehard Dubs fans hit that sub button all right let’s do a little bit of exposition here before we get into the Warriors free agent targets because I think it’s necessary right so the Warriors can’t go out there and sign the top crop of free agents and even you know that next tier of guys as well as they don’t have any cap space and not really many teams around the NBA have cap space at all you look at a team like Brooklyn who’s got a bunch of money and then you know a team like Detroit that’s got a little over 20 million but after that it drops off a cliff and I bet you 90% of the teams in this league have negative cap space and the Warriors are one of them however they do have a couple of different avenues that they could go down to acquire and you know improve some players externally on their roster they have at this moment at least the non-t taxpayer mid-level exception which goes all the way up to $14.1 million they also have the bianual exception a deal that NBA teams get every two years and they can spend about a taxpayer mid-level exception figure there of $5.1 million they also have two trade exceptions where with trade exceptions it gets a little tricky like you’d have to only be able to attach a draft pick to them you cannot attach a player salary along with a trade exception to trade for a higher salary player but Golden State does have two trade exceptions $8.8 $8 million and 2.2 second round draft pick as well pick 41 Golden State has and then the veteran minimum that they can sign everybody in the NBA has that as well now again before we start I want to throw out a disclaimer because we did get this report and I reported on this 2 days ago on the channel from Ball Report on X and again I don’t really know exactly how reputable they are but they’ve been on the scene this off season and they said it’s unlikely that the Warriors sign a player like Bobby Portoris due to the fact that they’re expected to bring back Jonathan Kaminga which means that they won’t have access to the full non-tax pair mid-level exception without being hardcapped at the first apron and he says that that’s something that the Golden State Warriors want to avoid and I think that that that kind of makes sense but overall man I’m not so sure that I believe that like I’m I’m find it very hard to believe that Mike Dunley in this 2-year window for Steph Jimmy and Draymond doesn’t want to exhaust all options when it comes to improving this roster and putting out the best version of the Golden State Warriors and trying to get a championship for Steph before he retires and Don Levy has said this off seasonason said “We’re good at giving up whatever it takes.” Now this quote was taken into a context where they were talking about trades but I mean could you really not make a move uh for a mid-level exception player a player who you know probably get you over the hump or give you buckets in moments where Steph or somebody at the you know high up on the Golden State Warriors dep chart is on the bench or sitting like they need to exhaust all options and that means you know using all the resources that they have which is the non-taxpayer mid-level exception so that’s why we’re going to start with Bobby Portoris yeah why not if Ballard report says they’re not going to go out there and you know pursue signing him I don’t buy that nonsense i think Bobby Portoris would fit wonderfully in Golden State this is a true like fifth starter or first guy off of the bench who can give you 14 points a night can kind of get his as well he’s got that short corner jumper a little bit of a post up game and fade away as well and he can hit the corner three when he’s open as well like solid enough defender he’s a physical player he’s always going to give you 110% you cannot question Bobby Portoris’ motor on the basketball court whatsoever and the numbers that he puts up are really solid as well an above average rebounder for his size he’s also a you know a really effective three-point percentage uh over these past couple of seasons he’s improved constantly throughout his career and has always been above average so as far as his fit in a Golden State Warriors offense he can be in the corner as somebody who can just receive these wide openen opportunities from dribble drives from Steph Jimmy Draymond the whole nine and I think he would fit in wonderfully in Golden State and bring that defensive energy as well let’s move on to Nquille Alexander Walker who is a name that I actually originally mentioned in our Warriors perfect offseason video as my number one mid-level uh exception free agent target and a reason being is cuz we watched him kind of tear up the Golden State Warriors in that second round playoff series he was playing a ton of minutes for the Minnesota Timber Wolves this postseason and for good reason like he was hitting his outside jumpers he’s got the ability to put the ball on the deck a little bit too and even initiate some offense as a primary ball handler even though you know his best work is you know on the wing a little bit i I like NAW man he seems kind of like the prize possession of the mid-level exception tier of free agents this offseason and I think a lot of contenders are really going to be looking for his services as a player who can shoot plus 30% 38% from three-point range who can give you 10 points every single night but also somebody who I think is kind of ready for an elevated role in an offense like somebody who’s kind of ready to go out there and be a starter on a contending team in this league rather than come off the bench like he did in Minnesota this past season because they had a Jaden McDaniels they had an Anthony Edwards above him in the pecking order if he ends up coming to Golden State like there’s a chance that he could end up starting over a guy like Brandon Pajki or he could be that super sub first man off the bench what do you guys think i think either one of these players could fit that mold for the Golden State Warriors if it’s Bobby Poris who you’d rather sign give me a BP down in the comments section if it’s Nquille Alexander Walker the cousin of SGA as we’ve all been drilled into our brains give me an NA down in the comments section who do you guys want to sign for the Warriors let’s move on to our next game next name another familiar face for Warriors fans close to the postseason that’s Santi Aldama of the Memphis Grizzlies who Golden State met in the NBA play in this spring and Aldama is a true sevenfooter and I know we heard from Tim Kawakami that the Warriors wouldn’t be going after a stretch five but I don’t even really necessarily see Santi Alama as a true stretch five he kind of seems more like a stretch four to me and really more of a perimeter player than somebody who’s doing his dirty work down low like you could see the numbers on screen for a 611 guy this is not a great rebounder but it is somebody who’s coming off of a rookie contract and I think um it’s necessary to note that he is going to be a restricted free agent and the Memphis Grizzlies can match any contract offer sheet that he ends up signing this summer now is it all that realistic that Memphis brings him back for the mid full mid-level exception actually no they they really can’t afford to do that because of the money that’s coming up on their books in the near future though it looks like he’s going to find a new home and at 24 years old he’s still got a lot of upside as a really really good floor spacer and potential shot blocker down low uh on the low block i like Aldama a lot let’s move on to Caris Levert here and somebody who you know you could pick one of Nikquil Alexander Walker or Caris Levert as you know different archetype players that you want at that like two guard position off of the bench for Golden State so if you’re looking for more of the true 3 and D option yeah it’s NAW but a Caris Levert type player is that true ISO level scorer he’s got a little bit more um levels to his game offensively than an NAW does like Alexander Walker yeah he can finish at the rim and he can shoot that outside jumper especially in the corner but Levert can get it from anywhere man he’s got the above the break three he’s got the corner three he can put the ball on the deck and work in the mid-range as well when he gets to his spot at that elbow or the float game as well he’s pretty lethal in between um the the three-point arc and the paint so I I like Levert a lot as somebody who can come into this Golden State rotation as that super sub off of the bench and when Curry hits the sidelines then you know what you can feel confident in yourself that Car Levert you know a couple times throughout this season could go on a little bit of these microwave runs you know 10 points in a row in a third quarter or something that helps you know Golden State get across the finish line and and extend their lead to a point where maybe Steph Jimmy and company don’t have to play super long stretches in the fourth quarter one more name to discuss on the Warriors free agent targets list but first make sure you are hooked up with this fresh deal over at Fanatics how often do you see Steph Curry jerseys for 50% off yeah not very frequently so go get hooked up with this deal in the link in the comment section and description of today’s video chatports.com/curry city it’s last year’s city jersey but I think it’s fresh man and you’re not going to find many Curry jerseys for 50% off so go get hooked up this link right here chatports.com/cury city clickable in the comment section and description of today’s show let’s move on to our final free Asian target of the video today and this is a name that probably won’t go for the full mid-level exception that’s Larry Nance Jr look he’s 32 years old he’s faced injuries over the last couple of seasons but is a very solid role player not going to be a super high volume three-point shooter but is efficient in that regard but what you’re getting Larry Nass Jr for is his defense his switchability 67 but plays a lot bigger than that frame and honestly for the the Warriors and the way that they like to you know kind of bring bigs into their roster 67 probably feels like a good sweet spot for them to bring in another forward center and Nance can do it man yeah he’s only played you know a less than 100 games over the last two seasons combined but when he’s out there on the floor he’s a really good defender he is always going to you know not really make bad decisions out there on the basketball court scores efficiently around the rim as a lob threat i mean just three years ago he was shooting 60% from the floor and then in each of the past two seasons he’s tried to expand his range a little bit more and he’s done that very very efficiently shot it nearly at a 50 45% clip in 24 25 even though he was only limited to just 24 games i think this is a great buy low option for Golden State as it could potentially be in that by annual $5 million range or even the veteran minimum as I was talking to a couple people in the chat sports office that think Larry Nance could be a low low option this off seasonason we know that it’s more likely than not that Golden State goes after cheaper free agency options than you know big expensive ones and especially more than just one $14 million player larry Nash Jr he could be a vetmin guy but name your guy in the comments section who is a player that the Warriors should sign this year in free agency i’m trying to hear from Dub Nation on know what player you guys think could really help this Warriors team take that leap and hopefully get over that Western Conference hump and make a finals run for Steph Curry Steph Jimmy and Draymond all right before we get out of here on today’s show there’s a little bit of news that I saw come across my timeline shout out to my guy Anthony Slater who is a longtime Warriors Beat reporter been working at The Athletic and has just signed a deal to get hooked up with the guys over at ESPN and join their NBA coverage so shout out to Slater man a lot of the videos that you see on this channel would not be possible without his reporting so um I owe a lot of of the success that we’ve had here on Warriors Today to the scoops and the insight that Anthony Slater has provided and I can’t wait to see the new coverage that he brings around the Golden State Warriors so just make sure that he he he is still covering the dubs over at ESPN so can’t wait to see all that content and uh bring that to you guys here at Warriors Today as well make sure you are subscribed to the channel as that will do it for today’s edition of Warriors Today by Chat Sports if they make any signings you know we’re going to bring you the content right here on the channel so lock us in hit that sub button see you guys on the next one and as always let’s go Dubs [Music]

My attempt at sexy lingerie ended with me accidentally trapping myself in a lace contraption that looked more suited for a contortionist than a romantic evening🌺

i like naw the best, but naz reid would be my ideal target.
Amir Coffey is a sneaky free agent the warriors should target
At this point I’m not interested in anyone other Giannis, Markkanan, Cam Johnson, the joker or some talented big guy at least over 6’10! This is what the warriors are lacking! Anyone with 👀 can see that! Green is tired and frankly can’t keep up in today’s league… not everyone is conditioned like Steph Curry.

THIS IS FRUSTRATING 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏿
They really need a BIG body to secure the paint. Do defense and rebounding. And they must add a couple of legit 3 and D at the wing for more 3 point scoring and a pesky defensive prowess. If they won't trade some talents and picks they won't get one to help them. Their current roster would still be the same as the previous season
If their looking for Gaurds and no bigs there will be no 5 title.
Warriors fans have made it clear that we want Steven Adams
Myles Turner
