so could the New Orleans Pelicans be trading away Dejanti Murray to the Sacramento Kings this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Sacramento Kings receiving Dejonte Murray and the New Orleans Pelicans receiving Malik Monk Jonas Valentunis a 202542nd dual pick a 2026 and a 2027 second round pick so in my personal opinion this is a prime example on the Kings buying a little bit lower on a player who not too long ago was traded for an absolute hall uh Jonte Murray of course is a player that when healthy is pretty talented the only question mark is how’s he going to be kind of moving forward uh with that Achilles injury behind him so it’s a bit of a gamble for the Kings to take I guess in this scenario but uh you’re not able to get rid of any of your superstar caliber players so you’re still keeping players like Keegan Murray you’re keeping Deanna Sabonis you’re keeping Zack Lavine you’re keeping Demard Rosen and you’re only giving getting rid of three second round draft picks and two roster players so it’s a bit of a gamble but if but if John Murray can bounce back better than ever and just perhaps you know be a really solid player for this group moving forward this could be a tremendous move for them they could be buying a player at a discount which if you’re the Kings this is what you kind of have to do as a franchise you have to find diamonds in the rough we have to go for players that maybe are undervalued whatever the case may be and if it works out this would be an awesome move for the Kings to make now if you’re the Pelicans I I really don’t like this trade but at the end of the day if you don’t believe in Dejonte Murray bouncing back from his Achilles injury and perhaps being the player that he once was before that injury then yeah you might have to take what you can get for him while his value was still I guess reasonably high in this scenario maybe they’re getting back 75 cents on the dollar but if he doesn’t perform well next year maybe he gets injured again that can reduce to like 50 cents or 40 cents on the dollar and then you’re not getting back very much and at that point you might as well just keep them so an intriguing move for the Pelicans to make but with a new front office there uh they could be looking to make some moves uh this is a different look for them but for those reasons I would definitely go with the Kings as the winner of this deal you’re buying low on a player who’s really talented in my opinion and if it works out for them great if it doesn’t he really didn’t give up that much in my opinion uh for him so as I mentioned before I think the Kings win this deal but as always leave your thoughts
