so could the Phoenix Suns be trading away Kevin Durant to the Los Angeles Clippers this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Phoenix Suns receiving Norman Powell Dererick Jones Jr Bogdan Bdanovich a 2026 second and a 2031 first round pick and the Los Angeles Clippers receiving Kevin Durant now in this scenario I guess in this trade proposal it actually was stated by the author that this would be trades that the teams would not accept uh for Kevin Durant so uh the Los Angeles Clippers I could definitely see being a viable destination for them now what they don’t have in my opinion is draft capital in the short term so uh why a trade may not work between the Clippers and the um and the Suns would be because of the draft capital assets now the Clippers could offer some very valuable picks down the road but that’s too much of a gamble at this point the Phoenix Suns who don’t have their draft capital as it is if they’re getting rid of Kevin Durant it’s going to go through a bit of a retool for them in the foreseeable future especially if they buy out Bradley Beal as well this team saves some money sure uh but they’re not really getting compensated in regards to draft capital so I think if you’re the Phoenix Suns front office you want to get back some draft capital and preferably in this year’s draft and next year’s draft and you know drafts in the immediate future but breaking this down from the Suns perspective like you’re getting back three pretty solid players that kind of help you know help add more depth to the team and kind of surround Deon Booker with some more help so Norman Powell really solid player uh Bdonovich Dererick Jones Jr i like all three of these players and that first round pick in 2031 is obviously really you know valuable at this point I would say because of just how uncertain this roster looks you know six years down the road but as I mentioned before I think teams like the Rockets teams like the uh the Spurs teams like the Mavericks they can put together packages with draft capital in the short term so that can probably be a little bit more appealing to me to the Phoenix Suns but if you’re the Los Angeles Clippers I think if you’re able to get Kevin Durant for this package you would do this every day of the week uh you kind of have to go for a championship now like the building just opened up uh not a great year this past year but if you’re able to sort of uh you know add Kevin Durant to a team with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden they could be really good on paper the question mark for me would be their availability and their health and that’s obviously a concern for them so if I had to pick a winner of this deal I would go with the Los Angeles Clippers but as always leave your thoughts
