The PERFECT Spurs Off Season V2!
with Giannis staying in Milwaukee and the price for Kevin Durant being way too high looks like our Spurs are back to building to the draft what is up San Antonio Spurs fans welcome to TSR Sports hope you’re having a great weekend and this is an updated version of the original video I did called the Spurs perfect offseason this will be version two with Giana staying put and the price for KD being absolutely ridiculous i’m seeing reports you want to get the same return back that they originally gave Brooklyn players four five first round picks something ridiculous ain’t going to happen with San Antonio we’re not doing that we’re not getting placed for a player that’s going to be pushing 40 soon billings of the draft again so this is my updated perfect offseason you see Yabiselli still in the thumbnail so spoiler obviously there i’m still signing him but let’s get into first got to redo a refresher the salary cap next season the salary cap will be 155 million the luxury tax 188 million and the Spurs likely to go over the cap but stay under the luxury tax so in our scenario we’re going to have about 40 million to play with and the 10 players we have under contract make up about 143 million there they are over there fox Barnes Johnson Webby Castle So Brandham yes Brandom Wesley Champenny they’re under contract they’re probably going to be impossible to move i don’t see us buying them out so they’re staying with San Antonio let’s first start off with the trades I’m going to be doing to set up our off seasonason pick number 38 i don’t like it so I’ll take pick number 38 in the second round and one of our future swaps maybe one or two future second rounders and move up to the first round whatever it takes with the Nets Magic whatever and we’re going to move up in the draft that way pick we’ll say pick number 26 i did try to trade Deon Vel in my offseason i know some like TSR why you so against Decel i don’t think we have too much of the same type of player in size with Deon and quite frankly I’m going to pull up the thumbnail real quick if this is our starting lineup next year if we get Gershan Ya settling I don’t think I think it’s best for even Devin to maybe be somewhere else in this lineup option number one is clearly Wendy number two is Fox and I got to say at this point number three probably Stefan Castle i’ve read some things that Discel when he’s high volume he’s much more efficient but when he’s only taking seven eight shots a game his efficiency falls off he just he’s a better player when he’s shooting the ball more and with the roster the way it’s set I don’t see him shooting the ball more might be best for the Spurs and him to move on at some point but for the time being he’s on the roster trying to trade him with his salary that 27 million with the CBA looking at other teams needs etc i don’t have the time to go through 29 other teams and just b you know just dig deep into their roster to figure out how a trade would work so I couldn’t figure it out so at this time Devin staying with the team and quite frankly trading right now wouldn’t be the best move his value is a little bit low after last season maybe he can bounce back i don’t think he’s going to be the 20 point per game type of guy he was two years ago but maybe his efficiency up and bring up his value if the Spurs were to move on from anyway that’s my trade who am I drafting this should be obvious if you’ve been to the channel before if you haven’t I’m taking Dylan Harper at number two i know some people concerned about the fit with Castle and Fox how’s that going to work best player available i’m still taking Harper at two unless some ridiculous trade the Spurs can’t refuse comes up which I don’t think it will so we drafted Dylan Harper at two he’s going to make about $12 million i’m thinking Sheriff Fleming at 14 you guys know I really like this guy he’s going to make about 5 million and then because we moved up in the first into the first round we’re taking Wendy’s buddy Maxine Raino at 26 he’s going to make about three million so there’s our three draft picks yes we’re drafting three young guys but it is what it is i don’t see a big bet trade happening as far as signing as guys that are from the from last season that are not under contract we’ve got these guys here Chris Paul’s not coming back i think we can all agree Charles Bassie like him dude cannot stay healthy the rest of the guys Jordan Mclofflin eh Biz McBo thank you so much for your service you are absolutely fantastic coming off the streets and filling in when needed but I have room for one spot i’m bringing a fan favorite back and a guy that brings energy i’m bringing Mamu back for about two million and then my free agent signing is Gershan Yaelli at 12 million for hopefully about 12 million for three years then we have our three two-way contracts riley Min Harrison Ingram and I did not forget Janu so I’m going to bring Juan Nunes back that’s 2 million each and just like that this is why I always talk about the salary cap guys we’ve already gotten overund $180 million with just who’s already on the roster who’s making who’s under contract next year that’s 143 our three draft picks Mamu Yaba selling the three two-ways that’s 40 million right there the money goes away so quick with this new CBA and as I was working on this last night I was really digging deep i spent like probably an hour looking for trades to make i was like “Wow I’m glad I’m not a GM.” Now when I look at other teams like the Boston Celtics who signed these ridiculously huge contracts with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum before the new CBA now it’s like they’re they’re in a bad situation a situation we don’t want to be in so I really hope Ryan Wright handles a Darren Fox contract extension hopefully he does a great job with that maybe Fox takes a little hometown discount and you know no income taxes in Texas and takes a little hopefully it’s not a super super super duper max contract but guys the salary cap it fills up so quick and it was really tough putting us together so we’re at 183 million so what does this first team look like after these moves are made starting lineup I would expect because I’ve heard Yabiselli wants to start from you guys we at the five Yabiselli at the four Castle at the three or two interchangeable Bell or Wings Castle Vel and Fox this is the lineup we do have three-point shooting with Wemby and Bell we’re hoping Castle can be better he is working with the guard Whisperer right now who worked with SGA so I’m expecting a three-point percentage to go up i’m not expecting to be a 40% shooter next season get it to 33% that’s what four and a half% increase that would be a ginormous leap then at least teams have to respect your three you’re hitting one and three the Fox can be the 37 point guy that he 37% guy that he was the previous season and we should be pretty good we are going to be lacking a little on size but what I do like about this lineup is when we’re going against a big bruising center the kind of guy that’s just burying his shoulder into Wemby and he’s knocking him around we don’t have to We have Wem guard him we Yelli on him yeah he’s 6’8 so he’s a little shorter but he weighs 265 pounds he’s a tank we can have Wem guard whoever there for is as far as the bench we’re going to have a lot of depth and that’s what I do like about this is a lot you know we’re still young we have some depth we have So coming off the bench for the time being harrison Barnes give us some three-point shooting off the bench kellman Johnson brings the energy off the bench dylan Harper will probably run the point off the bench and we also have Julian Champenny if we’re going to go to a 10 rotation what about Fleming Arena to Austin for now if they absolutely kill it or well or if they kill in the summer league and preseason maybe they don’t go to Austin and there’s part of the rotation somehow but they go there at the time being stagger WMY’s minutes diabelli will be yes we’re undersized at the moment we’ll be our backup center could see Mitch doing center sohan again I hope not and then as far as deell move him at the all-star break or maybe you move HP HP’s on an expiring contract or maybe the Spurs bring him back at a discount next year hopefully he does give us give us shooting which we desperately need he was what 43% from beyond the arc last year and he was one of the best corner three-point shooters in the NBA period not the Spurs just the whole NBA so it’s it’s very it as I was doing this it’s really interesting to see how this offseason plays out could there be a trade i you guys have mentioned Cam Johnson yes he gives us three-point shooting he fills some of the needs on the team but the dude is a walking injury he’s missed so much time in his career that’s not the type of player I want to bring on the roster availability is still a very important quality of an NBA player and if you’re missing 20 30 games a year what good are you doing us you’re just eating up a lot of contract on the bench so I’m I’m a no on him but you see what Brian Wright does the question is what do you think we do this is my updated version of the perfect offseason would this be a perfect off seasonason for you or or almost perfect if you will would you go in a different direction in free agent if you do though you got to remember the salary cap we don’t have a lot of room to work with and if those of you that want Maxine Raino and want a 14th pick and a second pick that is 20 million of your available cast space the Spurs are gonna have about 40 million you just cut that in half of their draft picks it’s going to be a puzzle that Brian Ray has to figure out and he’s got to nail this one we’ve talked about at length on the channel the obvious draft pick WMY of course he nails that i would have drafted WMY first overall you would have drafted Wim first overall and you would have drafted first Wim overall stefon Castle was a home run i don’t think every GM out there would have taken him fourth overall we nailed that one back-to-back rookies of the year but his prior picks the Primo picks the you know some don’t like the Dell pick the 2022 draft Sohan Brandon and Wesley a lot of question marks on that draft two of the guys might not be on the roster next year who knows he’s got to nail it this year this I’ve said it before I think I said it in the prior version of this this off seasonason is really gonna shape the direction of this team on whether it’s going to be a playin or playoff team next season or for a lottery team again that’s all I got let me know how Let me know what you would do differently in the perfect offseason compared to this version i really appreciate your feedback i always love reading how you guys would assemble the team maybe you’ll come up with a trade I didn’t think of be like TSR blah blah blah i need a shooting guard send Devin there we’ll get this back and then we’re perfect love you guys thank you hit the thumbs up if you like part channel and as always go
The San Antonio Spurs have so many options in the off-season… here is what ole TSR would do.

Thoughts on staying young and building through the draft or would you still try for a big trade? Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

Idk if PATFO trades Vassell. They have always loved him for some reason- maybe his character. I think the spurs may keep him for 2 more years
To be convinced about the capability of Guershon to play both 4 or 5, I advise everybody to use your league pass to watch the last game of the Sixers against Denver (31th of January). Yabu was able to guard Jokic very efficiently.
The main advantage of Guershon is that he can be our starting 4, bringing weight in the paint but also able to stretch to the perimeter to be very efficient on 3-point catch&shoot. But when Wemby is going to the bench, Yabu can also switch to the Center spot if needed.
Guershon has also lot of experience of the very challenging games as he made three years in a row the finals of the euroleague with Real Madrid.
This thumb nail team plus maluach and essenguewould fullfill a lot of gaps !!!!!! Size defense and bench quality❤❤❤❤❤
What I could propose as an offseason for the Spurs is the following :
1) As the Spurs cannot develop 3 rookies anymore, let's trade the 14th pick to Brooklyn. As they are in a full rebuilding process, they will be very happy to get a second pick in the lotery in such a loaded draft.
I would propose Barnes + pick 14 against Cam Johnson + pick 26.
With the pick 26, I would draft Maxime Raynaud to try to develop him as the future backup of Wemby.
Cam Johnson could be used as our backup SF.
2) I would use all or part of my non-taxpayer midlevel exception to sign Guershon Yabusélé as starting PF.
3) We need to give maximum of minutes to Castle and Harper if we intend to develop them. Devin Vassel cannot continue to play for the Spurs. It is time for Devin Vassel to try to continue his development elsewhere.
There are rumours that everybody are on sale within the Pelicans.
Devin Vassel could be a very good option to replace CJ McCollum who won't be kept by the Pels.
With their 7th pick, the Pels have very good chances to draft, or Tre Johnson or Kon Kneuppel, both playing SF.
An exchange could then be very interested between Trey Murphy III and Devin Vassel. The Spurs could add the 38th pick this year and another second round pick in 2026.
The Spurs roster could then be :
Starting : Fox – Castle – Murphy – Yabusélé – Wemby
Second unit : Harper – Champagnie – Cam Johnson – Sochan – Raynaud
Bench : McLaughlin – Wesley – Branham – Keldon.J – Mamu (or Bassey or Byiombo or another big vet on minimum)
Not bad at all ???
I like keeping Vessel, Barnes and Paul, I would trade Johnson, Champagne and Branham
I like your lineup, but this is likely a playoff team, not a contender.
They should trade Vassell to the Pelicans for Trey Murphy
Yabusele is not good on Defense.
And on offense Yabusele = Mamu.
Stop 😂
Perfect offseason for the spurs would be Naz Reid signing with the spurs
Maaaan get Vassell outta that starting line up lol
TSR>Spursclan
Wouldn’t you want to play reyno with wemby .
Vassell can stay on our team if
1. He stops dribbling
2. He gets his 3s to 40%
3. He uses his length to play D
IT WONT HAPPEN
30 million dollar contract is a monkey wrench. Trade him for future picks and make room for the future.
Sochan is the staring 4
Trade Vassel to the Magic for KCP and thier 16th and 25th pick. Spurs could draft Wolf at 14, Ben Saraf at 16, your guy Raynaud at 25, and Hugo Gonzales at 38. Fleming and yabusele would give the Spurs four 4's….that's too many resources allocated to one position. Magic need scoring, and the Spurs need a Wing defender. Fox is not a winner, but I guess we're stuck with him.
Starting 5 Wemby, Fox, Castle, Sochan, Barnes. Reserves Vassell, Harper, Keldon, Champagne, #14 pick. There you go we ride if that.
Ppl are talking about Cam Johnson or Trey Murphy coming here in trades but ppl seem to think the Spurs are going to trade picks (including #2, possibly as well as 14) along with multiple players usually including some lineup of Sochan, Vassell, Keldon, Champagnie, and maybe Wesley as well as more picks . Whatever it was, it’s completely outrageous. I wouldn’t trade half of that for either one of those guys. I wouldn’t want Jaylen Brown or Durant at that price bc it’s just a giant over pay. Scoring doesn’t mean as much at the moment, it’s more common than ever so guys like Murphy and Cam Johnson for that haul, could be a mistake that hurts the team for years. And I believe if they keep drafting and get more bigs for Wemby to play with, they’ll be fine and can keep all their assets. Also the Nets and Pelicans fans that think their guys are worth that are insane, but the Spurs fans who like it might be worse bc at least Pelicans/Nets fans want to get a huge haul and say they fleeced the Spurs. And they’d be right if they get all that in the deal. This is easily the most frustrating off season I can remember as a Spurs fan bc I hear these trades in the news, and after seeing the Luka trade which still was insane to me and I knew the Lakers were in trouble for their lack of defense after it happened, it still doesn’t make it equal value. I just hope the Spurs are still the Spurs and are being smart regarding the roster
Sochan not in the starting 5 is insane.
You're crazy! Devin is crazy talented and proven. We need to trade The #2
We need 3pt shooters badly.
Hey! I follow the Spurs all the way from France, thanks for all your work! 😊 I don't think the team needs more superstars if it means sacrificing bench depth. The Pacers and the Thunder have shown us that to make it to the Finals, a strong starting five isn’t enough, you need X-factors coming off the bench. Especially since the team really needs reliable three-point shooters to improve spacing.
Wemby will want out of san antonio because spurs will always be losers
This is good but a horrible rebounding team. Yabu does not rebound enough. It will expose Wemby to a lot of contact down low just to get rebounds
YALL ARE SLEEPING ON DANNY WOLF!!
A legit 7’0 guard
I really want the Spurs to trade back at 2 and up at 14 and take both Duke players in Knuepple and Maluhca
Starting lineup Maluhca,Wemby,Knuepple,Castle,and Fox
I was hoping we'd make a move for a stretch 4, like Brandon Ingram, but he just got $40m a year with Toronto (good for him and his family, that's the big time, and more than I had in mind).
I definitely want Yabusele, just, I sorta want him coming off the bench with like Harper and CP3 (if he doesn't retire/ want a starting role). I want a stretch 4 that's a legit 6'9"~6'10", shoots above league average from 3 point range, and move Sochan to SF. I like Vassell but I'd be completely fine moving on from his contract and his potential. At some point you have to start seeing growth in some area year over year
