for Gildress Alexander they’ve passed every test so far during these playoffs this the latest eight straight points for OKC hallebertton throws it up that won’t go and that’ll do it okc with a thunderbolt here in the fourth once again showing their resilience and these NBA Finals are tied at two games apiece they’re now 6 and0 in the playoffs after a loss all right let’s start here first row all the way to the right uh Shay Tores early with clutch points um remember in the third quarter uh there was a play where you got the ball but the elbow took a one dribble jumper from the free throw line over Nehard when they’re trying to be as physical and trying to wear you down as much as they are are those looks something maybe maybe you guys have to explore more to get you more in your spots one dribble pull up over the you know smaller defender uh for sure there’s a variety of ways to attack um any defense any coverage um I think the trick is keeping them off balance and sprinkling a good amount of everything in there um trying not to be predictable especially when you play them six seven times in a row um trying to keep them off balance as best as possible um and I feel like we had a good mixture good flow tonight tim McMahon ESPN it seemed like every touch was tough for you for the first three and a half quarters you get to five minutes four minutes three minutes you know you guys are trailing seasons on the line what opened up what allowed you to to finish the way that you did i tried to I just tried to be aggressive um like you said I knew I knew I knew what it would have looked like if we lost tonight um and I didn’t want to I didn’t want to go out not swinging i didn’t want to go out not doing everything I could do in my power and my control um to try to win the game um the guys deserve that much from me the coaching staff deserve that much from me um and I just tried to be aggressive uh but also just let the game come to me not try to force anything too crazy and uh I guess it paid off back right jay we I was asking coach Dagno about just your demeanor out in games especially I mean you said you knew what this game meant how much was on the line here but he says you know you never know based on how you look your face you could be having dinner on a Wednesday what What is it about What is it inside you that that your expression never changes your demeanor doesn’t change much even in these moments yeah um I think I just try to get lost in competing um lost and trying to figure out what I can do to help this basketball team win uh on any given possession um yeah that’s what I try to get wrapped up in that’s what I try to completely focus on um now it’s a little bit tough at times given the situation and what’s at stake but that’s what I try to wrap my head around for the most part first row hey sir Joel Lorenzi with the Oklahoma you guys hadn’t won a fourth quarter until tonight what have you sort of learned over the course of the series to to be able to withstand the quarter and and I guess second part Kamri was just saying that as you guys spilled off the court there was a sense of relief did you sort of feel that and and what was behind that um yeah winning any quarter for us looks like looks like us getting stops um that’s first and foremost we do that we give ourselves a chance to score easier baskets play faster but when we don’t it’s harder just naturally like it’s hard to take the ball out their defense gets set and then try to score over set defense um and if you’re playing this late in the season you have a pretty good set defense so it’s going to be hard if you don’t get stops and um it came a little late tonight but we strung together enough to get a W and then what was your second question personally behind it um not so much relief um personally I just much rather win than lose but um I still feel like we have so much work to do halfway there obviously but still so far from the finish line i’m so focused on the next the next opportunity and trying to take advantage of that first row on the left shay you don’t get a lot of catch and shoot threes um compared to a lot of other NBA players but you had a massive one there on the right side in that little twoman game with with Dub just tell me what’s gone into you know your work on even some of the smallest aspects of the game the things that you might not get a ton of um but that are showing up here obviously in in crunchtime basketball yeah I think I work on a lot of things i try to be the most well-rounded basketball player that I can be and then um I just try to like be aggressive and try not to be predictable out there and uh try to take what the defense gives me and my work all season all summer allows me to be aggressive in those moments and be confident and uh that’s what that was third row Vinnie Shay Vince Goodwill Yahoo Sports teams down 2-1 have produced some great performances in recent history giannis in Milwaukee Steph a couple of years ago against Boston when it’s 352 left do you sense the game is in the balance i can make sort of my stamp on this game here not necessarily in history but just do you sense the moment um absolutely uh that’s what that’s what it’s all about um winning at this especially this time of season it comes down to the moments it comes down to it’s going to come down to late game every team is good it’s barely going to be a blowout you know um and it comes down to the moments and who’s willing to make winning plays on both ends of the floor um but yeah I relish those moments love the moments um good or bad um when I was a kid shooting on my driveway I’d count down the clock for those moments and and now I get to live it so it’s a blessing it’s fun and and I relish it fourth row on the left daniel Belvia so you and Dub went to that twoman game late in the game seemed like you guys made the right decisions every single time can you just talk about the benefits on getting to that twoman game getting those mismatches with Dub specifically yeah we uh we’ve worked on that over the course of the last couple years um both of us can do multiple things with the basketball shoot pass handle um and we try to just play off our instincts and play off each other be aggressive make the right basketball play um and if we do so we usually end up with a pretty good shot um because of the players we are um but yeah we’ve worked on that over the the course of time and it showed up big tonight for sure second round of the left Anthony yeah uh you know despite the win Mark was talking about how you know the Pacers in some ways have found some solutions uh you know against you guys that you guys need to solve i’m just curious what you think they are doing well and what you feel like you know as this series gets deeper you guys need to solve yeah um they’re winning the small battles they’re winning the physicality they’re winning the aggressiveness battles they’re winning the 50/50 plays um now we we strung together enough tonight in a in a short amount of time to come out with a W um but if we want to do what we ultimately set our our minds out to do we got to take care of those things um and throw the first punch but um yeah they’re definitely for the most part of tonight they were winning those battles and that’s why they had control of the game last round on the left uh Adisha Kiki a lot of sports talk congratulations uh Jaylen Williams when he was talking about Alex Caruso said that he can become what your team needs uh in any sort of situation uh for the time that he Alex has been teammates with you how would you describe his adaptability uh uh for uh playing whatever role your team may need and does need uh to win games and would you describe it as kind of a super ability yeah absolutely he um sorry he um he’s a winner um to pull it all into one word he does whatever it takes on every any given night whether it’s making shots whether it’s deflections whether it’s a steal whether it’s a block um whether it’s a rebound he does whatever it takes every night uh I’ve said this before but he has a championship ring for a reason um it’s no coincidence he knows what it takes he put the work in and um he’s proving it every night but yeah he’s a big time performer um big time teammate big time winner um if you want to win basketball games you have a guy like that on your team and we’re lucky to have him fourth row on the right dan Dan Deanyahu Sports uh Mark when he was up here credited Lou Dort with setting an unbelievable tone defensively in the fourth quarter um at the time when you guys are trying to claw back when everything’s kind of getting haywire what did Lou do to get you guys sort of settled down but then also put that you know frenzy into them on the defensive end of the floor yeah he he was himself he was pressuring he was making life difficult um for them to get into offense but uh he was physical on ball he was disruptive he was who he’s been all season i think that’s the biggest thing like the the more and the faster that we can just be who we’ve been all season and our identity the better off we’ll be but um yeah he he was really good in that situation he was a a catalyst for our comeback for sure last question Barry yeah Barry Traml tells the world shay you had a great closing three four minutes but early in the game JD Dub seemed to take a lot of the load how much does it help and make it easier on you when you got a a guy like that that even if they’re trying to bottle you up a guy that can produce and sort of carry the offense for a while yeah he was special tonight he um he’s been really good the last couple nights it’s impressive to see his growth and his ability at such a young age on this stage um but yeah he it’s what makes us a good team like it’s more than just me way more than just me um he can carry the load he can be the second fiddle he can just play defense he can guard your five like he there there’s so many things he can do on the basketball court i think that’s why he’s having a year he’s having um but yeah he was he was amazing tonight and makes life easier not only for myself but for the rest of the group for sure thank you Shay james Boyd the athletic tie in the fourth quarter only one assist 20 20 assists in the first three quarters why do you think it got so stagnant late and what did they do perhaps differently to affect the game so much yeah we got to do a better job i got to do a better job of keeping pace in the game um thought did a much better job of that last game you know especially down the stretch keeping pace getting rebounds and really pushing um you know think we got to do a better job of when we do get stops getting out and running um you know a lot of times in that fourth you know we were fouling too much taking the ball out having to you know kind of run something versus um you know just excuse me just random basketball so um I got to do a better job there uh watch film see where I can get better um but yeah that’s on me i got to I got to get us playing faster down the stretch and uh you know I’ll uh I’ll be better game five tony up front Ty you’re up for just three minutes to go in the finals give that one away how do you feel right now how does that one sit with you uh it’s frustrating of course you know you want to win that game um you know especially a game at home where like you said you have to lead late um you know but that’s just not how the cookie crumbled today you know and so uh take a shower watch film see where we can get better and be ready to go for game five um you know I feel like uh myself personally I could be a lot better for us as a as a group and um you know we just got to get more stops down the stretch you know 17-point fourth quarter um you know for the offensive success we had all game um I think is really uh you know shows we got to do a better job moving the ball and I think that starts with me so um yeah we got to be ready to go game five um you know obviously going into a hostile environment we got to be ready to play and uh you know for us to uh to win we’re going to have to win one down there so um you know we got to be we got to be ready to go and um you know we got a couple days to sit on this watch film see if we can get better and uh yeah I’m excited about the challenge jamal Jamal Collier from ESPN uh the first three quarters you guys what did you like about the defensive effort that you guys had especially on Shay um I think he had he didn’t have an assist in the game and then kind of what do you think also allowed him to get loose late in the fourth quarter yeah I thought we did a great job of mixing things up um you know Drew obviously did a great job um stepping his minutes uh doublea I think we’re just trying to make it as tough as we can on him uh we got to do a better job of not fouling you know I think that’s you know where where um you know a lot of our mistakes came uh but I I thought we did a I thought we did a good job but you know he still ends at with 35 you know he’s a tough cover so uh you know we just got to you know collectively keep making it hard on him um keep rebounding and running all the way here on the left tim Reynolds AP Tyrese Rick has been saying since the start of the series that it’s an 18-day thing it’s almost like he’s been planting the seed that this is going to go for a while how important is that mindset as it turns out now that you know it’s going to go at least six yeah um you know I think as a team you just got to be ready to respond you know um every game is different you know uh you just got to be able to respond when uh when your back’s against the wall and that’s here we are that’s where we are right now um you know so obviously it’s a frustrating loss but as a group you know I uh still have a lot of confidence in in in ourselves as a group um you know we got to be ready to go down there and uh you know and fight for 48 minutes you know it’s going to be challenged but um you know this group has been resilient all year and I wouldn’t want to go to war with any other any other group so I’m uh I’m really excited about game five dustin Dustin Indianapolis star you obviously talked about what you feel like you guys could have done better in the fourth quarter but what how did you see them dial it up especially defensively and what did you see them kind of make a point to take away yeah I thought they uh they went more to that you know the small the four guard lineup uh you know that got us stagnant there um you know but I still think there’s a lot of areas for us to uh you know to get better felt like we got some good looks just missed some good looks um you know so again watch film see if we can get better guys will be ready to respond in a couple days anyone else with a final question back right hold on hey Dice in the second quarter quarter when you got that and one you celebrated after making that free throw how much of that was more a frustration of not getting calls or just being uh getting that call for the free throw yeah I think we’re just um you know through the course of the game we just got to continue to you know to to play and get downhill you know I think the the paint is our friend you know when we’re when we’re really getting in the paint you know everything kind of opens up so um obviously I haven’t that was my first free throw of the the series so just was uh you know excited about that and I think as a as a group we just got to keep getting downhill you know the pain is our friend we can play from the inside out you know the better we are so um yeah like I said watch the film see where we can get better and uh be ready to go in a couple days thank you Tyrese

  1. This is probably the most schematic finals ive ever seen. Every single game comes down to x's and o's

  2. One of the worst jobs officiating I have seen in a while. There was a double standard throughout what OKC and what the Pacers could get away with. In the end, I think this made the difference in the game.

  3. Bro, you had a winning formula then switched it before the playoffs. Not sure why you chose that timing but it hasnโ€™t helped your views at all. You could have trialled this new format preseason.

I watch my highlights elsewhere now.

  5. SGA and Dort deserve their applause on offensive and defensive end but man.. some non-calls on them are baffling..
