More MOVES Coming… Insider Drops MASSIVE JJJ Trade Report | Knicks News

more moves are coming for the New York Knicks as NBA insider Brian Windhorse dropped a massive Jarn Jackson Jr trade report in regards to the New York Knicks a team that is known to be scouring the free agent the trade markets trying to improve their team by any means necessary while fans are pushing an agenda for the New York Knicks to go out there and get Jiren Jackson Jr as it would fit a perfect pairing for the team while there is a trade that lines up perfectly for the New York Knicks and would put them in better position to win the NBA Finals next year and we’re going to break it all down what’s up guys welcome back to Nick’s Digest it’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into things as always guys if you’re part of that 73% that’s not subscribed to Nick’s Digest what guys coming out every day over the off seasonason but let’s break it all down let’s jump into it jiren Jackson Jr has found himself at the height of a lot of trade talks over the past couple of hours when the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic decided to shake up the world by making this trade as announced by Shams that the Grizzlies traded Desmond Bane to Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic for Contavius Caldwell Pope Cole Anthony and four unprotected first round picks with a pick swap as well now a few things come to mind here first of all guys guys but when we trade for a guy who’s not in a not an allstar ever but is a great two-way player it’s a mistake but when the when the Magic do it it’s fine that’s not what we’re here to talk about we’re here to talk about the fact that this does have a ripple effect going on and we know that Leon Rose and the New York Knicks are trying to make this team better and are interested in a bunch of trades one of them being now Jiren Jackson Jr who is going to be available for trade most likely as Brian Wintos broke down the fact that this is a rebuild trade when while Contavius Cowwell Pope has proven to be a key piece of a championship contender twice in his career last season did not look like that and he has a big contract this is a trade where the Grizzlies are pivoting a little bit you look at the Western Conference and how tough it is to compete you see what Memphis thinks about their hand it may be time to do a little bit of a pivot almost nobody in the Western Conference is rebuilding right now with Wintor also mentioning the fact that the Utah Jazz are going to start trying to win again the next question is what about John Morance and Jiren Jackson Jr this is something we’re just trying to figure out the whole league is now going to investigate this and we haven’t heard from the Grizzlies i wouldn’t be asking about KCP or Cole Anthony i’d be asking what you intend to do with extending John and Jiren Jackson both of them are eligible for an extension this summer on top of that we’ve seen Ramona Shelburn say about the past and obviously this has an impact because of Taylor Jenkins being interested or the Knicks being interested in Taylor Jenkins I should say the two sides have a mutual interest in a potential deal that would make him the head coach ramona Shelurn mentioned that the internal perception was players most importantly John Morant had tuned out what Taylor Jenkins had to say and now Jenkins someone who’s one of the top contenders for this Knicks head coaching job we know the Knicks are going to be interviewing Taylor Jenkins for that job in the next week so with all that being noted this all comes back to the fact of you have to look at everything you have to consider this whole situation taylor Jenkins is going to get a shot to potentially become the next head coach of the Knicks that will have a ripple effect on are the Knicks going to go for Jiren Jackson Jr and Jackson did make comments on Jenkins that we’re going to get into in a minute and we just we look at this whole situation we look at everything that’s going down it took Knicks fans around 4 and a half seconds to notice the Jiren Jackson Jr thing with the most common answer being “Do you trade Male Bridges for Jiren Jackson Jr.?” Two friends of the channel on both Nicks Feed and Let’s Talk Nick Knicks shout out to both of them they both put up the beginning of this situation and you look at a potential trade between each sides well actually make that a little bit bigger for you guys you can see it a little more clearly you look at this deal where the Knicks would give two pick swaps and male Bridges to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Jackson they don’t have to extend Jiren Jackson Jr.’s what’s going to be a massive contract and they also get Male Bridges someone who fits in their team well and can fill that role that Desmond Bayon played now obviously again you’re giving up Jackson and you are getting a little bit worse because Jiren Jackson Junior is an all-star to where Bridges isn’t and also Jiren’s one of the best defenders in basketball where Bridges is as well but he’s a little less consistent on that end you see the New York Knicks acquire Jiren Jackson and from there continue to get better while also solving a huge issue with this team we know the Knicks are a great team and we know they’re a team that’s going to have to be more offensive focused going forwards it’s one of the reasons why they fired Tom Tibido if you ask me you also consider the fact that Carl Anthony Towns is not a good defender we all know this it’s not a hot take he’s not a good defender and Jiren Jackson Jr is an excellent defender and blocks shots and protects the rim as a power forward it not only gives the Knicks a five out lineup of Jaylen Brunson shooting guard to be named later if it’s not Josh Hart so let’s say Deuce McBride because I love Ducson the starting lineup in this situation you know Jaylen Brunson Deuce McBride OG Jarn Jackson Carl Anthony Towns tell me with a straight face that that’s not an NBA Finals contender right now tell me that that’s not the best team in the Eastern Conference going into next season the Knicks will f be able to find themselves in a situation where they have an excellent team that everyone sort of picks up the slack for each other in areas where they’re weak there’s no true weakness on the team because your defense just got a massive boost by getting true rim protection with a guy who could also hit shots from behind the arc and can score the ball well he gives you another scoring threat he gives you rim protection in the starting lineup he gives you court spacing it’s all the things that the Knicks need now yeah it takes basically the rest of your draft stock and Michaela Bridges to do it you still do it because it’s Jiren Jackson you extend him on that contract you bring him to New York all those years ago when Jackson got drafted the Knicks obviously not Leon Rose it was different GM back then but the Knicks did have interest in taking Jiren Jackson there’s a lot of noise surrounding Jackson and the Knicks it didn’t end up happening the Knicks would have had to trade up effectively none of that went down but now you have a chance to make a trade like this that does benefit the Knicks they they get a tiny bit of space cleared up for this next season and on top of that they then extend him and yeah the contract stuff gets difficult but like you figure it out brock Aller is excellent at doing that now just taking a look at this whole situation you look at Jiren Jackson’s numbers last season they were excellent there’s a reason why he was an all-star he put up 22 points per game five and a half rebounds two assists got one and a half blocks per game and one steal per game as well shooting 37.5% from three and 40% on corner threes he also shot 48% from the field as well really 49% from the field so he put up great numbers now the big thing is Jiren Jackson does foul a lot that is something that him and Carl Anthony Towns would have in common and it would be the Knicks biggest weak point but if you still have Mitchell Robinson on the team then that does cover for it a bit so you consider that as something as well that you look at and we know from Shams that the Knicks are planning to meet with former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown and former Memphis Grizzies coach Taylor Jenkins in the next week for their head coaching job the meetings will mark the first stage of formal interviews for the Knicks job and more could come brown interviewed for the Knicks job in 2020 and made a strong impression before New York hired Tom Tibido which basically prematurely decided now Jenner Jackson spoke on Taylor Jenkins saying “That’s my dog that’ll forever be my dog it was surprising get him getting fired obviously it would have been surprising at any point he had a great impact while he was here he’s going to be one of the more sought-after coaches in his journey elsewhere and deservedly so.” So Jiren Jackson despite the fact that not all the players were big fans of him of Taylor Jenkins that is Jiren Jackson was he was outspoken that he does care about Taylor Jenkins obviously this could be him just not kicking Jenkins while he’s down or something like that or just covering himself because it’s never a good look if you’re like “So what do you think about the coach getting fired?” Oh I was thrilled i I hate him like no he’s not going to do that regardless so don’t put a ton of stock into that though it is important to note look at the same time what we’re looking at is a situation where the Knicks should go all out for Jiren Jackson Jr this is a guy who fits your team and I love Michael Bridges i’d rather not see him get traded in fact because I think he’s going to only get better with the Knicks now that he’s going to have a coach who well frankly is going to put him in an actual role instead of just throwing him into randomness so I think that’ll help on top of that what you look at is a guy in Jackson who just fits this team perfectly man I would love Jiren Jackson on this team 1,000% now on top of that what we saw during the All-Star break during the games was Jiren was hanging out with Carl Anthony Towns with Jaylen Brunson having some fun so the noise is there the agenda is going to be pushed knicks fans want it i want it you want it maybe i don’t know you gotta tell me in the comments if you want it but I think this is an absolutely wonderful idea for the New York Knicks look at the end of the day what the Knicks have at their disposal when it comes to trade assets is just enough to get Jiren Jackson Jr we’re going to be honest does anyone see Leon Rose pulling off this Giannis thing let’s be real let’s be real for five seconds giannis has never said he wants to leave if Giannis does not request a trade the Bucks aren’t going to trade him on top of that Giannis would have to go to the Milwaukee Bucks and say “Hey I am Giannis Antakumbo i am the greatest player in your franchise history i passed Lu Al Cinder who became Kareem Abdul Jabbar for that spot i won you guys a championship after 900 years i want to get traded and I want you to trade me to the New York Knicks.” That is how that happens and at the same time the Bucks have to say “All right Giannis because you did all this good for us we’ll trade you to the Knicks for a lesser package.” That’s not going to happen none of that is going to happen in fact I think Giannis is going to be on the Bucks next year i’d be shocked if he’s not so then you go to a guy who’s less expensive you see a team that’s starting to look like they’re preparing to enter a rebuild or at least a retooling you press for Jiren Jackson you’re going to give if you if it takes male and all three of those pick swaps and you also have to trade Mitchell Robinson and get back some worse contract from the Grizzlies as well i’d still do it the Knicks are probably going to trade Mitchell Robinson anyway we’re going to be real about that and we are going to talk about that as free agency goes into it i’ve mentioned this a few times in videos this is going to happen there is going to be Mitchell Robinson trade noise he’s probably 75% chance Mitchell Robinson is not on the Knicks next year we will discuss that in further detail i know people are going to get mad that I say that because they think I’m saying I want that to happen mitchell Robinson’s my favorite player on the Knicks I don’t want him to ever play anywhere else it’s going to make me sick to see him in a different jersey it’s just with the contract stuff going on and the Knicks trying to trade him every offseason including offering him to Minnesota for Carl Anthony Towns along with Julius Randle in that first round pick for Minnesota said “No we want Donenzo.” He He’s not long for the Knicks the Knicks are going to need rim protection jiren Jackson fits that mold he gives you a player you can start he makes you have a great starting lineup that’s still big even if you’re starting a 6’3 Deuce McBride at the two which you should do if you trade male Bridges cuz Brunson and Deuce play excellently off each other it just makes all the sense in the world to go out there and make this move and make this move right now and I want to see that happen i really do i think the Knicks should go for it if it costs all three of your pick swaps you do it if it costs Muel Bridges and Mitchell Robinson you got to take back some other contract you do it because this is a move that makes you a contender now obviously you still have to fix the bench this is not the number one thing the Knicks need to focus on right now with the whole Jiren Jackson stuff but now you do focus on on top of that real quick if you’re the Knicks you also take a good look at Cole Anthony cole Anthony did not have a good year last year but he also didn’t play a ton of hits he had nine points per game three rebounds three assists shot 42% from the field and 35% from three but did shoot 45% on corner threes still just 25 years old and he can control the offense and does have the ability to be a point guard something the Knicks need he’s a New Yorker i actually came up in AAOU not like playing with Cole Anthony i’m terrible at basketball but um like we’d be at the same tournaments because we were the same age since ninth grade since 8th grade dude really he the man was already a New York legend at basketball again I played at tournaments with him i never played on the same court as him because frankly I shoot like Joe Kim Noah i cannot shoot a basketball i’m not good at basketball i wish I was that’d be a
