so if you remember three days ago Sham Serrania revealed which five teams are actively pursuing Kevin Durant and in my video about that report I said this now the real exciting news that we could potentially get soon is what teams Kevin Durant himself is actually interested in well yesterday we got that news as Shams reported Kevin Durant’s personal preferred trade destinations which were the Houston Rockets San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat which was just some really exciting news on an overall wild night for South Florida sports me personally I was at the huge Inner Miami Club World Cup game with my guys Adam and Gad who y’all might know from Heat Twitter and while I was there in this very important game I was also watching on my phone the Florida Panthers game five of the Stanley Cup which they got a huge win shout out to Brad Marshan my god that kid is good and then in the middle of all of that we got the Kevin Durant news drop as well but as exciting as that news was as Heat fans we call being on Durant’s preferred destination list we call that a Tuesday because at this point we’re veterans right whether it was 2016 in free agency or 2023 when he demanded out of Brooklyn or just four months ago at the trade deadline we’ve always been on Kevin Durant’s list right i mean there’s a lot of uncertainty in life but four things are guaranteed death taxes the Miami Dolphins disappointing me and the Miami Heat and Kevin Durant having mutual interest in the past we knew KD might be interested in Miami because we had either D.Wade Wade or more recently Jimmy Butler but now without Jimmy here I really was curious if his interest in Miami still remained the same even yesterday a lot of Heat fans were freaking out because some guy named Rich Kleimman posted a picture on Instagram of Jimmy and KD hanging out together at a PSG event and a lot of Heat fans were thinking “Oh no Jimmy’s going to get in KD’s ear and say “Oh the Heat are a bad organization you don’t want to go there.” And I’m just looking at everybody freaking out and I’m like “Y’all know that Jimmy also hates the Minnesota Timberwolves right maybe even more.” And at the time just earlier yesterday the Timberwolves were the heavy betting favorites to land Kevin Durant and even without Jimmy here we really shouldn’t be surprised that Durant still likes Miami because he has a very close relationship with both Eric Spolstra and Bameabau from the Olympics if you just Google those three names you will see tons of pictures of them hanging out together or practicing together and Bam and Spo have spoke very highly of Kevin Durant and also vice versa there’s a lot of mutual respect there even Udonis Hasslam was just on ESPN yesterday he was careful with his words cuz he can’t tamper because he still works for the Miami Heat but he even said that Durant would fit great here you had Tyler Herro on that dumbass Aiden Ross’ stream and he made it very clear that he would love Kevin Durant here as well so I think it’s very clear there’s a love affair between both sides here and I think this could be the time that the Miami Heat finally get it done now the report yesterday from Shams I do think was even more interesting because of the timing of it because just about an hour before that we got a report from the Athletic that stated Kevin’s official preferred trade destinations were in and that was the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs no mention of the Miami Heat and then shortly after that report they followed it up with another one saying that Durant’s preferred destination won’t necessarily even be a factor where the Phoenix Suns end up trading him so that made a lot of people think that a deal was getting close with the Timberwolves because then Kevin Durant’s camp had to play a little bit of defense and say “Hey KD don’t want to go to Minnesota he will not resign.” The only teams that he would resign with is Houston San Antonio and Miami although I don’t personally believe that Minnesota was necessarily close because it’s also been widely reported that a deal with them is near impossible before July 1st and that’s because of their current salary cap situation because the new league year technically starts on July 1st everything before that is still counted as last season in which the Minnesota Timberwolves were above the second apron meaning that they cannot aggregate contracts in a trade making this whole situation very difficult unless the Timberwolves were able to shed enough salary in a Kevin Durant trade to where they’re under the second apron by the time the trade completes because then by rule they would be allowed to aggregate contracts but again you’re just talking about making a trade much more complicated than it would be with some other teams i guess the only other possibility is that maybe the Wolves and Suns can agree in principle to a trade but it wouldn’t become official until after July 1st but then in that case the Timberwolves would have to draft someone in the draft this year which is now in just 10 days they would have to draft someone for the Phoenix Suns before officially trading them on July 1st but you see how this gets complicated for the Wolves right now but even if it wasn’t the Wolves I do think it’s really likely that another non-preferred team of Durant was very close to signing with him that’s why Katie’s camp came out and said “Hey this is where KD will resign.” because I find it highly unlikely that anybody outside of the Spurs Rockets or Heat trades for Kevin Durant now because it would be completely incompetent to trade for a 37year-old on a one-year rental it’d be stupid he’s got one year left on his deal he could walk after this season you don’t do that for a 37year-old now you might do it for a much younger Kawhi Leonard when you know you can win a championship the very next year like the Toronto Raptors did in 2019 but you don’t do that for an agent Kevin Durant that’s making $55 million but of course the Athletic only had the Spurs and Rockets on KD’s list until Shams came out about an hour later and said the Miami Heats are on his list as well which is why I’ve been telling y’all for months really years because I think even Adrien Waldronowski is a lying dirty puppet bum too so I’ve been telling y’all for years only trust Shamseria when it comes to NBA reporting i mean there’s some other guys too chris Haynes and such but specifically with the Miami Heat Shams is the only guy who’s been plugged in the slightest because the Heat aren’t like all these other organizations where they got a bunch of people in the front office who can’t keep their mouth shut no the Heat are very secretive they don’t just be blabbering all these these rumors and such shams is the only guy that’s ever been plugged into the Miami Heat so when it comes to Heat news that’s the guy that you got to listen to i think the sticking point right now is still Khalil Wear for obvious reasons the Heat are hesitant about trading him i think if they had wear in this deal Kevin Durant would be on the Miami Heat by now but I agree i would not want to trade Khalil Wear for Kevin Durant although if they do decide to offer Wear then no picks better be involved it better be like Terry Duncan wear and that’s it and the only reason I would be okay with that is because you would still have three tradable first round picks and the contract of Andrew Wiggins to go into the trade market and get another really established center like I don’t know Daniel Gaffford or somebody else i don’t know maybe Thomas Bryan he’s out there balling in the finals now go bring him back i don’t know point is I don’t want to trade where but if I do there’d be no picks involved i think they really want a center or somebody that could play well next to Devin Booker because for the last few years the fits next to Booker has been terrible like bringing in Bradley Beal why would you bring in another ball dominant two guard when you already have one that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me not saying that Booker can’t play off ball i I think he can but the fit with Bradley Beal and and Devin Booker and Kevin Ran that was always stupid like we all knew that so I think they either want some size someone that could play next to Booker or I think they would want some draft capital to help replenish what they lost by trading for Kevin Durant of course they’re not going to get you know all the picks that they traded for Kevin Durant they’re not going to get that back but maybe one or two they’d like to add that back to their arsenal but most importantly I think they want salary cap relief and that’s where the Heat have the biggest advantage because we can actually match Kevin Durant’s $54 million with Terry Rosier and Duncan Robinson which is a lot of expiring money which is a blessing to the Phoenix Suns not a lot of other teams can do that because their large salaries are multiple years even the Rockets yes they have a massive $44 million expiring from Fred Van Fleet i think it’s a team option actually but you still got to match another $10 million dylan Brooks makes multiple years some of the other guys make multiple years so it’s difficult to match exactly $54 million on expiring money that’s one of the reasons I I think the Suns might not even want Wiggins because he’s still got three years left on his deal now he does fit next to Devin Booker so maybe that would interest them but in general I do think that he’d have an advantage when offering the Suns salary cap relief i mean there’s also a possibility though that it’s not just a two team deal uh we keep hearing that the Brooklyn Nets could be a potential facilitator maybe they offer up Nick Claxton to the Suns and then the Nets end up getting a pick in return but maybe I’ll explore that the Brooklyn Nets aspect of things in another video in in a couple days if the Durant trade hasn’t happened yet but we’ll see what happens either way that’s all I got to say for this video let me know your thoughts down in the comments below because I’m very
