Houston Rockets Trading For Ja Morant??

yo what’s going on guys This Houston Sports Talk back in the video today and today we’re going to be talking about the Houston Rockets since he’s trading for John Morant two-time all-star and 2122 NBA Uh John Mar’s a great player and there was a reason I’m talking about this trade is there was an article on Bleach Report about um you know potential landing spots three best landing spots for John after the Desmond Bane trade I think decided to trade John Morant and the Rockets were listed as one of the teams that would be one of the best fits for John Mar John Morant this year averaged 23 points per game with seven assists per game and four rebounds per game and um you know shot 31% from three which believe it or not is best since the 2122 season He shot 34% from three and he shot a total of 45% from the floor Um look honestly I love John Moran I think he’s a great player Um when I look at John Moran I don’t you know some people you know like to talk bad about some of the bad decisions he’s made Um do I support the bad decisions he’s made that has gotten him suspended multiple times No But um he has he has overcome those those challenges that he had a couple years ago in the 2022 23 season that then got extended to the 2023 24 season when he got a big suspension But that is not the problem I have with John Morant I have a problem with John Morant that is actually another problem he deals with and that’s injuries But before you know before the postseason John Morat did not have you know a time where he had played seven games in a row since the 2022 23 season He missed almost the entirety of the 2023 24 season He came back from suspension So partially like it was like 25 game suspension whatever it was Um he comes back from suspension plays nine games looked solid you know wasn’t nine games in a row Um and you know but then gets hurt you know has season ending surgery uh on his shoulder and then we see him come back this season play a lot more this season than he did the 2023 24 season but still misses 32 games and like I said he was good when he’s out there three-point shooting is not great but um and field goal percentage was down compared to last year but to be fair he didn’t play uh that much last year really um and so but it it was his second worst of his career Um but I think when he’s out there he’s very good and I think he’d fit well with this Rockets team Um you know pairing him next to Alpine Shenon uh pairing him next to Min Thompson that’d be great for him I believe But here’s the problem It just makes this Rockets So even and this is the case is especially if he’s if he misses games but it but when he’s on the floor this Rockets team has a problem of being a poor three-point shooting team a poor shooting team John Morant doesn’t fix that issue He honestly just makes it worse because if I’m the Rockets I don’t want to I don’t want to give up Jaylen Green and a and a you know Jaylen Green and a John Morant deal Um I I I think you want to you’d want to pair Jaylen Green with John Morant That might actually make Jaylen Green a better player if you pair John Morant with him Um and I don’t I don’t like the way Fred Van Vleet and and John Morant would work I think if Jaw comes in Fred’s got to go He’s got to be involved the deal somehow You opted you know you you you exercise his team option and you trade into Memphis I don’t know It would be a bigger deal But here’s the problem You’re getting worse at three-point shooting because you then you trade in Fred Uh Reed Shepard might be involved in the deal The three-point shooting is getting worse if you’re the Rockets And they need to find ways to make the three-point shooting get better Um I don’t know about trading for Kevin Durant That’s definitely a way to do it but there are other ways to do it where you’re not having to give up crazy you know crazy amount of young players and draft picks Like I have talked about how much I’d love to see the Rockets go out there and trade for Trey Murphy a great three-point shooter and score from New Orleans He would help this team out a lot and I don’t think it’d be as much to give up as compared to trading for a John Morant or a Kevin Durant um or as well as potentially signing a Nikquil Alexander Walker great shooter you could probably do you could probably bring in both Nikquil Alexander Walker and Trey Murphy and find a way of making that work So um yeah I I think for this Rockets team you could explore John Morant trade bringing him in I think it’d be something like John Morant comes in and and you see two salary fellows like Jay Huff and John Kungar come in with John Morant Funny thing about John funny thing John Conar I’ve known this dude since like the 201920 season Um when he was like no one knew him because I had a I had a friend in middle school I’m still I don’t I wouldn’t say I’m still close with him today but um you know we still you know text every now and then Um he was a great basketball player in middle school and still is in high school is cousins with John Gonkar Um and I I remember I remember like him him telling me that in sixth grade when he was really like not even that popular Um you know he’s not even that popular now but like he was he was like a two-way contract guy then Now he’s just a now he’s had like he’s had some solid seasons like in 2023 23 season 2023 24 season but the 20242 season you know only 2.4 points per game but did average three rebounds per game He’s a good three-point shooter I don’t know how much he played with the Rockets but he’s a good three-point shooter 36% from three in his career Um and so he’s he’s had some solid seasons with Memphis Um but like when when I when I you know when I was told about him by my friend that is is his cousin uh he like he wasn’t even playing 20 games He was a two-way contract guy Now he’s actually you know you know a contract guy uh for the Grizzlies But uh I think he’d be Kchar and Jay Huff I think Jay Huff would be a good backup backup center to have for a backup Not a backup for Shingun a backup for Adams like if Adams ever misses time you know there’s been injuries in the past Um you know he could be a backup for Adams Uh if Adams is not playing back tobacks Huff can be the backup center for Alping on on one of the nights of the back to back He’s a great three-point shooter for a big man So that could be a good addition for the Rockets Rockets will get Jaw John Kong Carr and Jay Huff and then give up you know give up Fred Van Vleet Cam Whitmore Reed Shepard Jock Landel and pick 10 and I would say 2028 first round pick I I don’t think the if you’re the Rockets you do not want to give up a bunch of first round picks for John Morant when you’re also giving up young players like Reed Shepard and Cam Whitmore Um because John Morant has only played 59 games in the last two years I think the two guys that have have been so great from the 2019 NBA draft class or yeah 2000 yeah 2019 NBA draft class of Zion Williamson and John Morant they are so great players they were they were so worth it if you look at with the teams that you know with the two teams that got them in John Morant and Zion Williamson but to me I don’t see them having a lot of trade value either one of them because of the games that both of them have missed um so but yeah but many What are your thoughts of the Rockets Is he trading for John Marine in the comment section And peace out
