Indiana Pacers – Tyrese Haliburton bounce back tonight! Jim Irsay to Colts Ring of Honor well-earned

it’s another game day so all we got are game days this what a series this is 2- two this thing’s tied so we’re going to have a game tonight this game five and then we’re going to have a game six on Thursday for one of these two teams either the Pacers or the Thunder you’re going to wind up in a uh a closeout situation either the Pacers are going to come home Thursday and have a shot at closing it out or they’re going to be fighting for their lives in these NBA finals we’re going to find out tonight uh Friday night not good enough the Pacers weren’t they weren’t aggressive enough they allowed the Thunder to dictate policy on the offensive end and and defensively the Pacers just kind of weren’t good enough against Shay Gilchis Alexander and I know there was the nonfoul called that offensive call and foul call that could have been i know that there was a traveling uncalled that could have been but you move on the final two-minute report no calls were were you know ruled incorrect so you know what we can him own all we want but at the end of the day they just weren’t good enough and that starts with the head of the snake and the head of the snake’s Tyrese Hallebertton when he’s aggressive this team plays well and they are successful when he shoots 16 or more times they are undefeated in these playoffs when he scores 20 or more points Pacers are undefeated in these playoffs he has got to go get his and if he does that Pacers have a really good chance to win this game f uh game f five if not you know what then you get what you get and we’ll see we’ll talk about that a little bit we’ll talk about Jim say going into the Colts Ring of Honor which is I think entirely appropriate there are people and I’m one of them who thinks that an owner shouldn’t be able to buy his way into a position of honor like that just because you inherited a team does not put you in a ring of honor position just because you were successful enough in another business that you were able to put together the resources to buy an NFL team that doesn’t mean that you go in a ring of honor with guys who have gone out in the on the field and sacrifice their bodies for a long period of time in order to kind of have that be their career sort of you know high mark that that place where you’re among those who are the greatest of the great but in Jim’s uh with Jim say I change my mind changes um I I believe as an owner he belongs in the Ring of Honor so uh we’ll celebrate that on September 7th when the Colts play against the Miami Dolphins and and he is enshrined as a member of that Ring of Honor we’ll we’ll do that uh the TBT team for Indiana’s alums added a couple of new members yesterday Jordan Hulls and AJ Gton aj Gton obviously a little bit too old to play a little bit long in the tooth however he’s going to be a coach on on the team an assistant coach on the team and that’s a good thing you can get tickets to go see the TBT uh opening rounds at Hankle Fieldhouse going to be a lot of fun so why not go why not go and watch these guys although it it’s not exactly like watching members of the 76 undefeated team or the 81 or 87 national champions now granted those guys quite long in the tooth now and likely their basketball playing days behind them however uh they were successful and we do have many many positive memories of those players the players playing in this thing even the guys from 2013 are a little bit long in the tooth to kind of get out there on the floor and be really really competitive against guys in their mid20s um but Hulls still at it i like it jordan can still shoot it can he defend we’re going to find out I guess you know that that’s the way this is you you find you get on the floor and you hope for the best right all right uh we’ll talk about that and then JJ Span won the US Open yesterday despite a front nine of 40 that ain’t easy it ain’t easy to write the ship right no uh this is Breakfast with Kent for Monday June 16th 2000 and uh 25 just a moment there we are making sure I got things set correctly sometimes you can’t be too careful uh so uh I was careful let’s talk oh oh by the way we’re brought to you by the great people at Today’s Dentistry Dr michael O’Neal the best dentist in the world give him a call 317849-2933 you got to go see a dentist so why not see the best give them a call ask for Julie tell her that Kent told you 317849-2933 she’ll give you the hookup and off you go and want to make sure that you subscribe we will have a hell of a prize uh I if if the Pacers win the NBA championship which I think is a coin toss 2-2 best two out of three i know two of the games are in OKC i’m not too worried about it i think they got a shot tonight i think they got a shot to close it out on Thursday got to take care of business tonight could wind up at game seven 48 minute battle for the NBA championship this would be the first game seven since 2016 that would be awesome and you can’t win that prize unless you uh subscribe that’s how you gain eligibility and uh hit the like button because that’s a polite thing to do it’s Hoosiers are polite unfailingly polite we look at each other we smile at each other we nod at each other it’s a friendly place to live this is what we do in Indiana ding like and if you want to uh you want to make a donation make a donation no big whoop but please include a question or a comment that elevate the level of discourse on the channel thank you very much all right let’s talk about this game thunder 9 and a half point favorites tonight i think that’s aggressive i don’t understand i don’t know what people have seen in these playoffs that would lead them to believe that the Thunder are a reasonable nine and a half point favorite but they do and uh so it’s either you know what I it it’s either an opportunity or you think hey you know what i’m staying away from it i don’t understand it but I’m staying away whatever rick Carile spoke about Scott Foster scott Foster the extender he was on the floor Friday night and a lot of people blame Scott Foster for uh the Pacers loss i I think that’s illogical we talked about that on Saturday here is what Carile had to say about it uh we’ve had him a lot of times and this ridiculous scrutiny that’s being thrown out there is terrible and unfair and unjust and stupid he’s a great official he’s done a great job in the playoffs i think to uh prior to Friday I think the Pacers were 4-0 in games that Scott Foster had officiated so there there’s that um and and I do I didn’t see anything i mean he calls a different game but all officials do the thing about Scott Foster that’s a little bit perplexing is he has that reputation right and that reputation calls into question whether these games are being officiated to the NBA’s benefit or to the game’s benefit and and so it’s reasonable to say why would the NBA put themselves in this position to be scrutinized that’s reasonable but Scott Foster thinking that somehow he was uh he was a part of some mass conspiracy to deny the Pacers an opportunity to win game four uh I don’t think that holds water the NBA would lose so substantially by fixing games due to referee assignments that I I don’t believe that there’s there’s any validity to it whatsoever um need a split in five and six that’s that I think that’s a reasonable thing to hope for and then you go after game seven you throw out the record books it’s 48 minutes for the NBA championship i think that could happen and and the the Pacers have done a really good job bouncing back and this goes back to the regular season they have not lost back-to-back games since March 10th that’s a long stretch of road that is a long time that’s like a quarter of a year pacers not losing back-to-back games uh but we’ll see what happens tonight turner knee math uh oh teammates and fans a great game that what happened miles Turner 0 for six from three benedict Mathan missing three out of four foul shots in the last four uh 44 seconds and committing two dead ball fouls whether they were great calls or not don’t put yourself in a position to commit dead ball fouls late in the game uh Nmith his last foul against Shay Gilchis Alexander was what allowed Benedict Mathan to be in the game he’s got to be better andrew Nehard has got to be better these guys have got to lift up pascal Seakkum he just got to be Pascal what he was on Friday awesome what he’s been throughout these playoffs awesome hallebertton has got to get busier he cannot allow Lou Dort to mitigate him him as a threat offensively cannot have it carile has been coaching his ass off just keep doing you uh Rick Carile Pacers uh ran out of gas in game four I think and and you can’t run out of gas they’re the team that makes others run out of gas thunder did not run out of gas what are you going to do uh no field goals I don’t think for the Pacers in uh like the last 258 of that game on uh on Friday night should have won that game they were in position to win it should have won it what are we doing let’s talk about Jim Ers for a minute jim Ers is the owner i I’ve always got a problem with self-important owners but I don’t think Jim Ersce was that jim Ers kept the Indianapolis Colts here in Indianapolis when he could have moved them elsewhere could have been the first team into the LA market could have done that so didn’t uh helped build starting in 1997 when he took over as the owner following his dad Bob’s death uh he he got this thing on its wheels and winning and winning and winning and winning by hiring Bill Poland hiring Tony Dunie drafting Peyton Manning drafting Edan James Reggie Wayne all these guys all these guys drafted under Jim Ers’s watch and either he had something to do with them being drafted or he hired the people who did and and that’s important uh he was a a lover of the community a lover of his franchise and always tried to put the Colts in a position to win i think that mandates his inclusion in the Colts Ring of Honor so uh I got no problem with that normally I would nor I’m not big like Robert Craft and his candidacy to go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame screw that like okay you do great in your business you put together a nice nest egg and that nest egg you use to invest in the New England Patriots you buy the team and what because of that you go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame my ass jim Ers little bit different in my world uh well-earned honor the TBT the basketball tournament is going to be played next month and that is the first rounds of this thing um run from Saturday July 19th to Tuesday July 22nd and Indiana’s alum team is going to be a part of that festival of basketball at Hankle Fieldhouse uh you’ve got Yogi Frell uh you have uh Jordan Hulls you have uh Blackman you have uh Trey Williams El Durham Race Thompson AJ Gton’s going to be an assistant coach it’s going to be a lot of fun and tickets relatively inexpensive you can get all session passes uh four sessions seven games 85 bucks and you get great seats uh or individual sessions $15 i that’s awesome i I love the event i love the uh Elen ending that’s awesome so uh you get a chance and we know what that is right you get to you add uh what is it 15 points to the leading uh team’s score and that becomes the target score i think it’s 15 points something like that and then you’re just playing to a score value rather than playing the clock so that diminishes the timeouts that are taken it it makes the last four minutes of the game go like this uh Elon came from Ball State smart guy good school all right cubs took three of four against the Pirates at Wrigley over the weekend they only scored nine runs the good thing was the Pirates only scored seven so the Cubs they win three of those four games and they are five and a half games ahead of the Brewers in the National League Central cubs fans you know we don’t we don’t look at the standings in June because what rhymes with rhymes with June swoon and that’s what the Cubs tend to do in June we don’t want them to do that they’re pretty well put together team the bullpen could be a little bit better but over the last like 25 games bullpen has been very good uh the US Open uh had some rain that rain delay worked for JJ Span who shot a 40 on the front nine and then uh conducted himself around the back nine in 32 that was good enough and ran in like a 68 ft putt to end it on 18 when you know it looked like with a uh a three putt which was certainly possible the you would have a playoff this morning for the uh for the US Open championship I I had a great time watching I hope you had a great time watching I hope we have a great time watching the Pacers tonight wearing the shirt again this is what we do wear the shirt and hope that you bring some luck to this operation all right uh birthdays uh three Facebook friends celebrating a birthday today wally Joiner former American League uh rookie of the year with California Angels how’s he a Facebook friend of mine ter of course he is why wouldn’t he be terren Cooper celebrating a birthday and Jeff Chandler celebrating a birthday if today’s your birthday you celebrate like hell and if it’s not your birthday you celebrate somebody else that’s best done with an uh a honest and specific compliment be good to each other lift each other up a little bit it happens every once in a while you see it every once in a while people do it and you see how happy it makes people when you do so keep doing it the bell we are very carefully moving so it does not ring because we do not celebrate before the deal is done tomorrow a two bell Tuesday so we will ring the bells and if the Pacers win tonight we ring the bells immediately after the game and uh off we go yeah stay positive let’s go have a great day enjoy yourself tyrese Hallebertton if you’re watching play your balls off get out there and go take it to the hole you did it almost enough Friday not quite 18 points on 15 shots you got to get to 20 points 16 shots and when you do the Pacers are unbeatable or at least they’re undefeated in these playoffs so do that miles Turner hit a three for the love of God and Aaron Nesmith what are we doing no putting the left hand on the right shoulder of Shay Gilchis Alexander come on now

Tyrese Haliburton needs to be more aggressive in Game Five tonight after Pacers collapse in Game Four!
Jim Irsay to Ring of Honor appropriate honor for owner who kept Colts in Indy!
IU Alumni TBT entry adds Hulls and Guyton!

  1. OKC didn’t run out of gas because the multiple foul calls allowed them to get the rest they so desperately needed. JMO 🤷🏼‍♀️

  2. Maybe history will repeat with Pacers this year? ABA Pacers won 2 of their 3 ABA titles in game 7 on the opponents' court.

  3. The leagues almost always back the bad calls. They don't really look at "no calls" when they really should. As long as they're making bank and running out an "entertaining" product they're gonna let underdog players/teams lose and/or get injured. I think someone should do some studies into all the leagues pertaining to this matter. Referees/ umps and officials have made devastatingly bad calls and seemingly "miss" calls a multitude of times. GO PACERS…BOUNCE BACK AND WIN ON YOUR TERMS! (Rant over, for now) 😂

  4. Even if there is no Extender conspiracy, how does Carlisle not comment on the bad calls? How does the NBA report say there were no missed calls? All of X is wrong? It isn’t just Pacers fans who saw the bs. Time to move on, but if they don’t let these guys play then this series is over quick. That is why okc is +9.5.

  5. Something has to give tonight… neither team has lost back-to-back games in 3+ months. If that trend continues, then the Pacers win in 7!

  6. Carlisle has to do BETTER WITH ROTATIONS! LIMIT TURNER MINUTES- Play Topin, Mauthrin, Sheppard more from Turner's minutes and sit his ASS – Coach is NOT coaching his ass off- totally disagree with that statement Kent. He's a solid coach, but he has to be better with game in-flight rotations and feel the game with his players- he's failing on that aspect and it's evident with Turner. Get better Rick ASAP-😮

  7. There were a lot of missed calls in the last Pacers game but the Pacers lost that one down the stretch. Even before Mathurin was put in the game with that disaster of a performance. However, that flagrant foul against Toppin earlier in the game made no sense to me. I mean why have a review if you can't see the obvious in slow motion.

  8. It seems like Rick Carlisle likes to suck up to the NBA and never comes out with any contreversial statements but I like him bc he reminds me of the good ole days

  9. Im not surpsied irsay is going into the ring of honor. I mean comon he was the owner what do u expect lol

  10. Kent I need two wins in a row I just dropped a bag and bought tickets to game 6 and I live out of state

  11. Kent, I can’t speak for all Pacer fans, but I don’t think Foster is involved in a conspiracy to extend the playoffs. It’s much more nefarious, that the NBA would continue to pay a referee who is obviously legally blind.

  12. not A traveling, thats just the one peoplw talked about, the last foul on Aaron, Sga took 5 steps. nobody even talked about that 1 for some reason. 5 steps!!!!!!!! 5!!!

  13. I do not think the games are fixed. I do think NBA officiating takes player reputations into account.
