It just got VERY Real… Raptors Offer LEAKED | Raptors News

it just got very real as the Toronto Raptors offer for Kevin Durant has been leaked as multiple major reports have dropped on the current Kevin Durant trade situation not just from the Raptors but from the other teams involved and Toronto is going all in right now on acquiring KD as they are offering an absolutely ludicrous package to acquire to finish the quest that we started on the hunt in what 2022 that off season and Messiah Jury has wanted KD there for a while now at this point without giving up Scotty Burns and it has never been more likely that this deal is actually going to happen for the Toronto Raptors after these latest reports so we’re going to break down what these reports are saying all the latest news on this Kevin Durant situation and frankly why I wasn’t that bought in on a Kevin Durant trade actually happening i think a Messiah was going to put all his chips in the table it was going to be for Giannis now after these new updates this is uh turning my head in terms of something that can actually happen so let’s dive into it because of course we uh know we’ve seen all the you know memes the reports about the Raptors trying to get involved to big trade situations as Brian Winhorse put it there trying to land a big fish this off season and uh they are not the Messiah Jerry is living up to that uh that mission as essentially Brian Winhorse revealed today that the Raptors are open to including the number nine overall pick in a potential trade for Kevin Durant so essentially this comes along the side the Raptors and the Clippers are reportedly lurking the Kevin Durant sweep stakes we’ve seen multiple reporters come out and essentially link the Toronto Raptors in the pursuit of KD even when Shams dropped this report saying that the Heat the Spurs the Rockets are 15 time all-star Kevin Durant’s preferred trade destinations out of Phoenix sources tell ESPN those across the NBA have been made aware in recent days that those are the three teams that Durant will be willing to commit long-term to even with those reports coming out essentially Shams revealed that there are some other wildcard teams there are about eight teams out there contacting the Phoenix Suns in terms of trying to make some trade negotiations happen and these wild card teams are are going to be on the go and then Mark Stein also revealed that essentially uh Kevin Durant while the Phoenix Suns are going to work with him and his uh representation to figure out a destination that he wants to go to a place that he would like to be they are going to p uh they are going to essentially value more the actual package they are getting back for the Phoenix Suns because KD has doesn’t have a no trade clause he doesn’t have the opportunity to veto a trade or anything like that so the Suns have full power in terms of who they are trading but of course you don’t want to completely ruin a relationship with a you know big agent with a big player out there like a Kevin Durant so they’re going to work with them but they’re going to prioritize getting the most value back out there in a trade so essentially even though we’re not on his preferred destinations the Suns aren’t really stressed about that as they are trying to get the back the best package possible so the Raptors right now are willing to throw all this in the number ninth overall selection and then on top of it in terms of report coming from Jake Fischer several figures around the league with knowledge of the Raptors thinking have likewise asserted that they could show a willingness to move center Yaka Purle as well this off season provided that the trade in question brought back Kevin Durant so we are now hearing that for KD Messiah Jerry is willing to give up the number nine pick he’s willing to give up Yaka Purle of course RJ Barrett’s been all these trade discussions and negotiations and that is uh you know in combination with these reports of Brian Winhorse that is very very significant and to make matters even more crazy essentially the Phoenix Suns according to Brian Winhorse just an hour ago are not excited about the current offers they are receiving from the Miami Heat the San Antonio Spurs the Houston Rockets as we just saw those are the three teams that Yosh threw out there as his preferred destination so even though they are the teams that KD wants to go to most likely the Suns aren’t happy with the offers that are coming their way for KD out there in this scenario so that really flips things on its head because if the Suns start moving away from negotiations from talks with these preferred teams the Raptors are essentially at the top of the list the Raptors and the Timber Rules in terms of teams with interest in acquiring Kevin Durant that are not on his preferred destinations and the Raptors are willing to throw in IQ willing to throw in RJ willing to throw in Yakapur according to those reports from Jake Fischer only showed a snippet of that article there and then also on top of it the number nine overall selection so that makes things all the more real the offers that the Toronto Raptors are putting together but this raises a serious question in terms of what this does to the future of the Toronto Raptors organization because I’ve come out I made a video this morning about how I do not want to trade RJ Barrett unless it’s for a star player of course Kevin Durant regardless of his age regardless of whatever is going on is a star player do not get me wrong he is an absolute what I’d be very excited to have Kevin Durant out here on this team 27 points per game six rebounds four assists last season 1.2 blocks one steal 43% from the three-point line and 50% on quarter threes yes he’s 36 years old will be 37 next season but still a phenomenal basketball player and in the modern NBA you know you can age pretty well you can age gracefully out there so Kevin Durant is a guy that you’d have to you know bite your tongue and say you know you you’d be fine with trading RJ even though it would suck but the packages that we’re talking about in terms of including a Yaka Purle and I get why and we’ll talk about this later but Yaka Purle this season or last season averaged 15 points per game 10 rebounds three assists one block per game two one steal like the Raptors were desperate for a center for years and they got a guy in Yakapurle that’s arguably a top 10 center in the NBA here now at this point might say a bit jar sound a bit jarring to say but he was phenomenal for the Raptors last season and is very effective on defense and very reliable and consistent so losing a Yaka Purle in this trade on top of an N RJ Bear on top of the number nine overall selection very very concerning because essentially how I kind of view this why even though I think it’s you know given Kevin Durant’s age of course KD is all time way better than these guys like don’t get me wrong but given his age given his price and only one year left on his contract I thought it would have been a little bit of an overpay to you know trade RJ Barrett Yakapurle for KD but my one saving grace to this was Messiah Jerry could come out and replace the center position of Yaka Purle with common malawatch with the number nine overall pick so if Messiah Jerry came out got the number nine overall selection and selected common Malawatch and then you run a lineup of Emanuel Quickley of uh of Kevin Durant of Brandon Ingram of Scotty Barnes and then common Malawatch at your five and then whatever bench unit that we have running that is a team that I could get very very excited about even though it would suck to lose both Yaka Purle and RJ Barrett but if you also throw the number nine selection over into that deal and then you know you don’t have an opportunity to select Malawatch at that point then what are we doing at the center spot scotty Burns isn’t playing center we tried that with OG Anobi in the past i know Shamshi is a guy that excites a lot of people about his potential and you know I think longterm could be a very valuable asset but if you are giving up like our center our rotation it’s a for KD then you have to figure something out out there at the center position you can’t go into next season with assuming that Scotty Barnes or Brandon Ingram are going to play the center position for this team like off the bench Jonathan Mo right like he is not going to be a starting caliber center on a team that has championship expectations because he is a forward he is a forward he’s a wing we can’t go back to that sort of young vision and we know the Raptors love are enamored with that sort of you know pace and space all guys between 610 you know that type of height range be able to space the floor but we experiment experimented with that and of course in the playoffs you can try to run lineups like that of course but over the course of an 82 game season you are going to have your wing players injured if you are you know imagine just Kevin Durant or Brandon Ingram out there playing the center spot and then having to guard a Joel Embiid every night having to switch on to Nicole Joic out there in these games like it is unrealistic it is stupid is not the right approach so you know Messiah Jerry’s making these moves happen and we take a look at this roster here right now right you really need to find a way to beef up that center position if you are going to make one of these moves and uh you know if you’re going to trade away Malawatch and you’re going to trade away Yaka Purle that’s the reality of the situation here now at this point so essentially you have Grey Dick you have Ocha Bot you have a bunch of forwards like maybe you can make another deal another trade if this deal goes down but you have to have this planned you have to have this organized because again I love K like I’d love to have KD out there on the roster in terms of his scoring his impact and the reason I think all this is happening is because we look at the you know all of the contracts there Yaka Purle RJ Barrett are extension eligible if the Toronto Raptors aren’t interested in extending both of those guys they don’t like the cap flexibility they have going forward to the future they don’t like this lineup then maybe it makes sense to take a fly on KD and worst case scenario you open up a ton of cap stays for the 2026 off seasonason that’s kind of something you could look at there in terms of the future in terms just everything that you have on the go in ter in Messiah Jerus plans and stuff but I don’t know this is uh a very very interesting spot the Raptors are in but it just got very real let me know what you guys think about all this in the comment section down below if you made it this far we’re back on Twitter as well so make sure you guys uh you know check out if you you know you’re on X check us out we’re uh spamming some content out there over there anyways I’m signing out cheers

  1. I would be okay with trading RJ and Poeltl for KD, but ONLY IF we don't include the #9, and we can draft Maluach. Because otherwise, how else would we fill our center position?

  2. jake fischer raptors will still have to pay the full price for KD of 9th pick, 2 unprotected picks, 1 unprotected swap and players as a 1 year rental in KD where he is likely to walk for nothing at the end of 2026 season. caveat KD will resign if masai offers a 100 million a year contract for 10 years with all player options, fully guaranteed contract, with 15 percent raise kicker a year in the event he is trade later.

  3. @benrogers suns need a starting pg, they dont want RJ but IQ and Jakob and Jamison battle with 9th picks, 2 unprotected picks in 2026 and 2028 and the unprotected 2027 swap.

  4. @benrogers the error in your logic is thinking KD makes raptors some contender or championship team. even with KD, raptors are 1st round bounce as their ceiling.

  5. @benrogers masai ujiri plan is to get to maybe 1st round and get bounced, but secure his new contract. then if scottie barnes doesnt turn into a 25-30ppg player in his 5th season in 2025. masai plans a full tear down and 6 year rebuild. just load up on picks trade KD, Ingram, Scottie barnes, and reload for a 6 year rebuild and full tear down.

masai would have done a full 4 year rebuild but his contract with rogers is the blip. so after masai's new contract if scottie barnes doesnt take that big leap, its full tear down and 6 year rebuild.

  6. Sure give up our only 5. And the 9 pick which is an option to get another big. And in this scenario ingram plays 2?? Kd 3 and barnes 4. Hmmm

  7. If we do get KD and give up the 9th…who would you hope falls to 39 at center? I would want 29 back from The Suns.

  8. Nah man this is the type of negligence you see an outgoing GM does when he know's he's not coming back to fix it in following years. Ed Rogers and the MLSE board have to shut down this trade path as it is pretty horrible on its face. KD is not the savior for any team at this point of his career. He has aged gracefully but the cost is way too damn high for it to make sense when we can be shopping RJ to the rest of the NBA for decent value. I get why they have to throw Poetl in too because otherwise RJ's contract isn't enough to match KD's so we would be in Luxury Tax but Poetl is too integral to this squad to move away from at this stage. Then you have KD literally walking away after a season so then again is it worth it? Our problem right now is RJ's contract and what to do with it. I think we should just silo that issue and work on moving away from RJ and getting some role player/ bench player value back. Wait for the trade deadline in like February to make adjustments. The guys we have might make a decent development step this summer and we have yet to see BI play so let's wait to see how that shakes out instead of making a hasty move for a 37yr old KD; that's just bonkers to play that high risk game with KD. Also KD, BI, and Scottie are just going to crowd each other and not really help each other so it's going to be a messy product to see. Of all the big swings I think this one might be way too risky for essentially sacrificing two pieces (assets) on the chess board (RJ/ Poetl) plus a possible draft pick.

  9. Really hope this isn’t true! We have a great chance at building within and keeping our core + draft pick!

  10. Who’s going to tell Ben Khaman Maluach isn’t going be there at 9 😂😂 Masai likely know this already from rumblings we don’t know about. It could be inner circle talk around the league. These guys know more than we know.

  11. This is like me saying I am trading my kidney for an iPhone 13 Pro when I am a Samsung user

  12. As much as I like Maluach, If we’re making a run, you don’t want a rookie center. Would need to get a vet (Lopez?) and let Maluach develop (if we somehow miraculously get Maluach in the first place 😂)

  13. I used to want KD but not any more. He's not a glue guy, he's too old and injury prone, and he would walk as soon as he could. We need depth and a good culture. We need a well-rounded roster of guys who want to play together and be here. This deal makes zero sense in 2025.

  14. Wait…… This isn’t the same version of KD who couldn’t lead his Nets with Irving and Harden to the chip. Na didn’t think so, this is the same KD who still couldn’t lead his Suns to the final with Booker, CP and then Beal right? But wait somehow now a older KD 37 can lead the Raptors to a chip with Barnes and BI, now he definitely magically can somehow take the Raptors to the promise land with LESS talent !!! Right GTFOH some Toronto fans are effin ridiculous!
