Jaren Jackson Jr To Lakers, Porzingis To Lakers | 5 Los Angeles Lakers Trades That Could Happen 2025

so in this NBA trade rumors video I am going to be talking about five Los Angeles Lakers trades that could happen in 2025 in my personal opinion as always make sure to leave your thoughts down below in the comment section of this video let’s get right into it so the first Los Angeles Lakers trade that I think could happen in 2025 would be Jiren Jackson Jr of the Memphis Grizzlies so I’m recording this video and making this video just shortly after the announcement of Desmond Bane uh being traded over to the Orlando Magic for quite a bit of a haul uh but could this definitely spark a bit of a resale or not a resale a bit of a fire sale or a bit of a rebuild uh that’s what I meant to say for the Memphis Grizzlies for the 202526 season so it has been reported that with this Desmond Bane trade uh taking place today could this possibly lead to other trades and they mentioned John Morance and Jiren Jackson Jr as two players that can definitely fetch a lot on the trade market and would actually kind of make this Grizzlies team a little bit better perhaps in the long run if they accumulate draft picks and go forward with a rebuild that way so Jiren Jackson Jr makes a lot of sense in my opinion uh for multiple factors like first and foremost he’s only 25 years old uh so he you know he fits the term uh he fits kind of the timeline of this team for the short term but also too playing him alongside Luka Donich for the foreseeable future maybe perhaps when LeBron James retires that could be a good duo uh for the future of this franchise in Los Angeles so Jiren Jackson Jr makes a lot of sense there uh this past year in Memphis Jiren Jackson Jr played 74 games averaged 22.2 22 points per game 5.6 rebounds per game and two assists i shot 48.8% from the field 37.5% from uh from beyond the ark 78.1% from the line and overall had 6.4 win shares so a pretty awesome year for Jiren Jackson Jr this past season especially with John Morant missing a majority of that so if Jiren Jackson Jr were to go over to the Los Angeles Lakers perhaps he could play alongside Luca Donic in maybe sort of that pick and roll game uh he kind of stretches the floor as well like being able to shoot 37.5% from uh from beyond the arc as a center is obviously pretty impressive he can take some pressure off LeBron James as well and just truthfully speaking he fills a pretty important hole in this Lakers lineup and that of course is the starting center position so I think Jiren Jackson Jr makes a lot of sense now i can definitely see a world where the Grizzlies want to you know retain him and keep him for the long term like he’s only 25 years old as well uh but as I mentioned before they did trade Desmond Bane today to Orlando and they got back quite a bit of a haul for him so if they were to put someone like uh Jiren Jackson Jr or John Morant uh you know on the trade market they can get back quite a bit in return also too financially speaking uh Jiren Jackson Jr has one year left at $23.4 million next year in the cap so it’s not a super big-time contract to take on uh the Lakers have what it takes to kind of match the money that way the only kind of risk here would be he is a free agent at the conclusion of this year but truthfully speaking especially for the Lakers they got to take this one year at a time i think Jiren Jackson Jr makes a lot of sense so the first player that I think the Lakers could be trading for this off season is Jiren Jackson Jr the second Los Angeles Lakers trade that I think could happen this off season is Nicole Vuch of the Chicago Bulls so maybe not as flashy of a player as Jiren Jackson Jr and a player that is about 10 years older than him so this trade would be more so for the short term and maybe not as much for the long term but in saying that uh you can probably fetch a little bit more I would say um you know I guess maybe not give up as much uh in return for Nicole Vuvich then someone like Jiren Jackson Jr in my opinion so if the Lakers want to keep players like Austin Reeves around maybe keep players like Dalton Connect around then that’s where someone like Vic can come into play like as I mentioned before he’s 34 years old still had a pretty good year this past year for the Bulls like all things considered a pretty solid season in 73 games he averaged 18.5 points 10.1 rebounds 3.5 assists uh 53% from the field 40% from beyond the ark 80.5% from the free throw line and had 7.3 win shares so truthfully speaking especially for the short term I think Nicole Vuvich would definitely get the job done like as it kind of currently stands right now with this Lakers roster they’re missing this type of player so I think Nicole Vuchic you know be below the basket’s a pretty important player both offensively and defensively speaking he’s a rebounding presence that kind of is an upgrade over Jiren Jackson Jr yeah maybe the offense and maybe the ceiling isn’t quite as high as Jiren Jackson Jr and if I’m the Lakers I would probably prioritize getting someone like JJ as compared to Vuvich but as I mentioned before the asking price for Nicole Vuvich may not be that high i can definitely see a world where the Bulls want to maybe shake up the roster a little bit especially getting a little bit younger i get to definitely see them going for in the 202526 season so I think Nicole Vuvich is going to be 35 years old next year he’d be a cool player to play alongside LeBron James like they’re definitely an older play an older roster next year and I think Vucha’s best days are probably behind him at this point but for the short term it’s not a bad commitment and just like Jiren Jackson Jr it’s not going to cost him that much financially speaking either uh next year he’s going to have a cap hit of $21.48 million and he also is a free agent at at the conclusion of next year so if it doesn’t work out if he gets injured or whatever the case may be they can let him walk and if it does work out well then he’s probably looking for more of like a shorter-term extension for the last little bit of his career so not as flashy as Jiren Jackson Jr uh but the second player that that I think the Lakers could be trading for is Nicole Vuch of the Chicago Bulls the third Lakers trade that I think could happen this off season is DeAndre Aton of the Portland Trailblazers so kind of similar to Jiren Jackson Jr and I’d probably place his value somewhere between Nicole Vuchevich and Jiren Jackson Jr deandre Aon does make sense for both the short term and the long term and the asking price for him will still be somewhat reasonable like I fully do expect that but uh yeah DeAndre Aton very solid player not everyone’s cup of tea like there’s a reason why Phoenix gave up on him not too long ago he’s actually been playing pretty good basketball in Portland like last year for him he only played half a season uh he appeared in 40 games played averaged 14.4 four points 10.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists uh shot 56.6% from the field just 18.8% from Beyond the Ark 66.7% from the free throw line and had only 2.8 win shares so truthfully speaking maybe not the type of player that kind of fits the modern NBA in my opinion if DeAndre Agent was born you know a little bit earlier played in like kind of the middle 2000s or the 90s I think he’d be a way better fit in compared to today’s NBA so he’s still a pretty important player like he’s a double double machine he can definitely collect the boards no doubt about that he’s an athletic big as well but where he kind of lacks uh you know especially in regards to what Jiren Jackson Jr and Nicole Vuvich bring to the table is just that three-point offense the ability to stretch the floor offensively speaking and just kind of be more of a threat uh with the ball that way so Deandra Aiden’s a very specific player he’ll play pick and roll offense with Luca he’ll score below the basket and he’ll play you know pretty decent defense all things considered but does he make this Lakers team that much better i mean as I mentioned before the Lakers have a pretty big hole at the starting center position so definitely could be an upgrade in that regard but I’m not a huge fan of DeAndre Eaton i think the asking price for him as I mentioned before probably somewhere between Jiren Jackson Jr and Nicole Vuchic but I just kind of think how this Lakers team is built they could definitely use a player that uh you know kind of collect some boards maybe makes up for some of Luca’s lackluster defense per se especially with LeBron getting older as well maybe he won’t be playing defense at as high of a level but I think DeAndre could make some sense i think if you know they have if Portland’s definitely not tied to him and if you’re able to give back maybe like a Austin Reeves or for example there could definitely be a trade happening in my personal opinion so the third player is DeAndre Eaton the fourth Los Angeles Lakers trade that I think could happen in 2025 is Jared Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers so Jared Allen’s a player that has been talked about on the trademark for quite some time now i really don’t think that the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to be looking to actively trade him but if they want to keep this roster together perhaps they have to sacrifice some of their current roster players we’ve seen Darius Garland’s name out there on the trade market we’ve also seen Jared Allen’s name as well i think it’s pretty much safe to say that Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley are kind of the pillars of this franchise so it wouldn’t surprise me if they want to keep some of their bench players intact that someone like Jared Allen could be on his way out now this past year for Jared Allen in Cleveland a really solid season uh he had 82 games played 13.5 points per game 9.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists uh shot 70% from the uh from the from the from the field uh 0% from three so not a threat whatsoever and 71.8% from the free throw line so Jared Allen sort of a player that’s a little bit more similar to DeAndre Eaton he’s not going to stretch the floor offensively speaking he’s going to score a lot of his offense below the basket uh hence why he had a pretty good field goal percentage last year so a bit of a different player sort of a similar player to uh DeAndre Aiden as I mentioned before but this could honestly be a pretty good fit like defensively speaking he makes some sense he’s only 27 years old as well so a player that kind of fits both the short term as well as the long term uh in Los Angeles in regards to his contract it definitely does make some sense as well he’s a little bit cheaper but does have that extension kicking in of course starting in 2026 27 so just for next year he’s making 20 million bucks nothing crazy there um after that his three-year contract for 90 million bucks kicks in so a bit of a longer term commitment as compared to DeAndre Eaton Nola uh Veovich and Jiren Jackson Jr but he’s a really solid player and be able to get a player like this under cost certainty for the foreseeable future is definitely not a bad move for them as I mentioned before I think the likelihood of Cleveland getting rid of him is not super likely but uh maybe if the uh the Cavs want to either get back some draft capital and then retain some of their bench players or whatever the case may be I could definitely see some changes being made in Cleveland if the right asking price is I guess um you know made by the Lakers which it very well could be so the fourth player that I think the Lakers could be trading for this off season is Jared Allen the fifth player that I think the Lakers could be trading for in 2025 is Kristoffs Porzingis so in regards to all the players that I’ve talked about in this video I think Porzingis is probably the most likely to be dealt this off season and also probably would cost them the least just kind of given the circumstances that uh are kind of surrounding the Celtics right now the Boston Celtics want to cut their salary payroll next year there’s no question about that uh players like Porzingis’s name has been thrown out there uh Drew Holidayiday’s name has been thrown out there as well and most recently even Jaylen Brown’s name has been tossed out there in regards to trade candidates this off seasonason so it’s not a surprise especially with Jason Tatum missing likely the entirety of the 202526 season that this team wants to kind of cut payroll a little bit and go through a bit of a retool for next year and Porzingis is a player that I fully expect to be traded at some point but what’s that going to look like teams don’t exactly want to trade a lot for this guy he’s an older player not really he’s only going to be 30 years old next year but he’s a player that has a lot of miles on him he’s very injuryprone as well like when he’s playing he’s very productive the only question mark is how available can he be so that’s kind of why the asking price for him is probably the lowest out of all the players I’ve mentioned on this list so this past year for Porzingis in Boston like as I mentioned before when healthy he’s a tremendous player uh 42 games played 19.5 points per game uh 6.8 rebounds 2.1 assists uh shot 48.3% from the field 41.2% from beyond the arc 80.9% from the free throw line and just overall like when healthy a really solid player he probably fits the Celtics team a little bit better than some other teams out there though because he can be kind of a fourth or a fifth man offensively speaking so perhaps his numbers are a little bit more inflated there but uh yeah in regards to like likely players to get dealt this off season I think Christophs Porzingis definitely fits the bill there the Lakers at the end of the day need need a center uh Porzingis can be that guy now he’s also expensive but like the other players you know he he’s he’s only a one-year guy like only $30.7 million next year i’m not sure how the Lakers would make this work financially speaking so perhaps a third team would have to get involved uh but it’s a one-year commitment if he gets injured or whatever you can always let him go it’s not a super big-time commitment financially speaking and if you’re the Celtics you just want to get rid of his salary and save some money that way so I’m not too sure if these teams could actually work out a trade unless a third team was involved for Porzingis but I guess only time will tell but regardless I think the fifth player the Lakers could be going after is Christophs Porzingis of the Boston Celtics so that is going to be it for this video thanks again for watching those were just five Los Angeles Lakers traits that that I think could happen in
