Celtics Trade Rumors ARE HOT On Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday & Trading Up In NBA Draft

what’s going on Celtics fans On today’s show we have the latest Celtics trade rumors and reports as new info has come out about Drew Holiday trade Chris Hort’s Zingis trade trading up in the NBA draft There’s so much to discuss on today’s show But before we get into all of it I have a challenge for the Green Teeamers Before we start here are my instructions Go down below and hit that like button I saw your comment Like today’s video and comment real one down below when you’re done [Music] Let’s hop right into it A new report on Chrisap’s Porzingis says “According to NBA insider Jake Fischer there is some reported interest at least some from the Phoenix Suns.” This full quote from Fiser here he said “I’ve also heard that Phoenix has done some background work on Chris Tap’s Porzingis with Boston known to be exploring the trade options up and down its roster.” And my instant reaction to this is well one the Phoenix Suns are a second apron team They can’t just make a Chris Asorzing trade that really makes sense for them They have a couple of mid you know mid-level contracts but the money has to be literally identical if there’s going to be a one for one trade here So my brain kind of shifted to is this how the Celtics get involved in a Kevin Durant trade with that kind of being on the ropes here over the next couple of days with them teams becoming finalists and Phoenix trying to get across the finish line Could the Celtics get involved as a third team Because you know as we know around the league trades are hard And this offseason I feel like a lot of teams are going to have to jump in as vehicles and receive some draft compensation potentially back And we heard from Brian Rob a little bit ago that this could be a real possibility given Boston’s need to move some excess salary this offseason They certainly could try to work their way into a deal to help move secondary pieces And this is talking about a Durant trade Said the other aspect though that is worth monitoring is naturally where Durant ends up And that makes sense right Brad Stevens isn’t necessarily going to get involved in a Kevin Durant trade if it makes a competitor in the Eastern Conference a whole heck of a lot better Like when you think about you know the Miami Heat or Toronto Raptor who have some reported interest like why would Brad want to help one of his biggest rivals and a team in his division That doesn’t make all too much sense But there are a bunch of teams that are interested in a Durant trade and there are teams in the Western Conference that seem fairly likely as potential destinations Now is do we know exactly what the value of Durant’s going to be Do we know what the package is going to be Do we know what the Suns necessarily really want back in this deal No not necessarily But we do know that the teams that are kind of ahead of the pack right now uh as far as where Durant wants to go and the teams that the Suns are willing to negotiate with Now they’ve also said that they’re not going to honor Durant’s you know wishes they’re just going to do the deal that makes most sense for the team But that could scare a lot of teams off with him only ex agreeing to extend with the Heat the Timberwolves or the Heat the Rockets and the Spurs officially I could see him doing a deal with the Minnesota as well And then the Raptors have come in as a kind of surprise late addition that they’re kind of willing to move a bunch of different pieces to team him up with Scotty Barnes up in Canada So with that being said like there is a real possibility the Ste get involved here and send Porzingis over to Phoenix Now if that’s the case and the Celtics are going to trade Porzingis and trade Drew Holiday to get under that second apron and run back a core next season of Jaylen Brown and Derek White well the East could be wide open and especially if KD doesn’t come to the East Coast So can the Celtics win the Eastern Conference next year I’m trying to get the pulse of the green teamers out there Yes or no Let me know in the comments section what you guys think It’s wide open Now we’re going to talk about the Celtics potentially trading up in round one of the NBA draft Like there wasn’t too much on that Porzingis report other than the fact that the Suns have some interest Nothing’s materialized yet but it is something noteworthy Now let’s talk about C’s potentially moving up in round one of the draft We heard this from Grant Abscest on his NBA draft report that just came out He said “The Boston Celtics Oklahoma City Thunder and Brooklyn Nets are among the most active teams exploring firstround trade-ups Boston holds picks number 28 and 32 and has been discreet in its evaluation of point guard prospects.” H So that tells me that if Brad Stevens wants to move up from 28 and 32 that range right there package those picks potentially together uh that tells me he’s fallen in love with somebody It tells me that there’s a a prospect particularly a point guard which AF Seth alluded to that Brad Stevens is zeroed in on in the first round of this NBA draft So I wanted to bring up some names potentially that that could be you know some trade-up targets at point guard And I decided to eliminate some of the guys at the top of the draft like a Dylan Harper and a Jeremiah Fears and a Trey Johnson um kind of guy because I don’t think the Celtics are gonna move up into the top 10 of this draft But as far as these two guys up top here Casper as Yakonis and and Aigor Demen um those are two guys who are mocked around that 10th uh around that 10th selection but you know have seen their stock drop a little bit and could fall into the mid to late teens So you never know Could Brad Stevens just swoop in and snag one of those guys I think that he might have his eye on one of them What about the international international cats like Nolan Trayor and Ben Sarafh I’m not the most tapped in on their film as I’m a college basketball guy So I’ve watched the two guys up top and this guy obviously right here who just won a national championship So uh I I I’ve seen you know some highlights and and they look promising but there’s definitely some stuff to work on for those two international guys And then Walter Clayton who just won a national championship for the Florida Gator who has never seen a jump shot beyond from 25 ft that he does not like Uh I like Walter Clayton I’m just not really a guy who has him mocked in the middle of the first round or somebody who I absolutely not want to trade up for I I’d be willing to wait at 28 and 32 if Boston wants to take a chance on Walter Clayton Now this kind of all materializes into this I could see a scenario where if Boston wants to move up and we’ve heard these reports of they may need they might need to attach a first round pick to a Drew Holiday or a Chris Espzingis in order to move them Could we see a scenario where the Celtics potentially package 28 32 and then one of Drew Holiday or Chris Esportzing in order to move into the mid- teens and then you know get a smaller salaried player back in return I think that’s completely possible So we’ll see what ends up happening But it’s interesting that we’re hearing these reports of the Celtics wanting to move up in the NBA draft as you know I I I wasn’t anticipating this uh as far as the season goes Like Brad’s got got a guy that he seems to have fallen in love with We’ll see who that ends up being if a trade up ends up happening But who’s your guy in this 2025 NBA draft Name a player the Celtics should select this year If it’s at 28 if it’s at 32 or if it’s a trade up scenario as well let me know who you guys want Boston to select this draft All right another new report this time coming on Drew Holiday as we’re rapid fire rolling through these Celtics trade reports on today’s show The Celtics apparently have trade offers for Drew Holiday and at least one from the Sacramento Kings that they might not like all too much This from Connor Roof of Boston.com So the Kings have Holiday on their list of guards they’re interested in acquiring this off seasonason according to Stein’s Jake Fischer However the Celtics have received a better deal on the table for Holiday than the Kings have offered to this point according to a Sacramento ESPN radio host So look I we don’t know at this point what the Drew Holiday trade offers include If I had to speculate on a potential Kings deal it’s something in the realm of a Demar de Rozan swap which I personally wouldn’t be too upset with especially when you consider Tatum’s going to be out all next year You need more depth on the wing And D Rozan also makes about close to at least $10 million less than Drew Holidayiday So you shed some money The the deal is shorter And you know what You see what you have in Demar D Rozan one of the clutchest players in the league for next year If that’s the case then maybe Brad Stevens doesn’t want that And I believe in Brad whatever move he’s going to make But the teams that are on the table for Holiday at this point it seems like these three are the front runners and it doesn’t seem like the Celtics are going to trade Drew Holiday to another team in the East If I had to pick any team in the Eastern Conference that could be on this list it would have been the Orlando Magic And we know what they did over the weekend So right now it looks like the Kings the Clippers and the Mavericks are the three teams that are on the Drew Holiday uh trade sweep stakes front running list It looks like at least one more of these three aside from Sacramento has submitted an offer that is better than the Kings So we’ll see what ends up materializing This could end up happening in the next couple of days We’re less than two weeks away from the draft baby And and I think that kind of what I alluded to just now the Celtics can get real value for their guys It it it seems like the trade market is shaping up to kind of favor a a selling team like Boston There’s a lot of teams in this league that think that they’re one or two moves away from truly contending in this league for an NBA championship And you know I’m I’m in a situation where I’m looking to get the most value back that I possibly can So we’ll talk about exactly why u that is the case in just a moment But first I sent away four unprotected first round picks as well as a future first round pick swap and Contavius Cowwell Pope and Cole Anthony So a lot of people instant reaction was like “Oh my god the Magic just got fleeced They sent away four first round picks five first round picks for Desmond Bane.” Well Desmond Bane’s a very very good basketball player and I think he fits seamlessly in Orlando But this alone sends a message that these players around this caliber yeah they’re going to come at a very high price And there are some players on Boston’s books that fit this same mold It’s not Drew Holiday It’s not Chris Esporing but we have heard from Sham Stravania as well as some others that the Celtics should listen to offers around Jaylen Brown and Derek White Now does he now consider after Brad after Brad Stevens sees that return does he now consider a Jaylen Brown or a Derrick White trade Because to be honest with you I think that there’s an a chance in this world that both of those two players return a more of a value back than Desmond Bane does Jaylen Brown may maybe we can we can talk about it because he makes so much money at this point But Dererick White man he makes less than Desmond Bane for about I’d say 85 to 90% of the production So it would make sense to me that a team would be willing to throw four five unprotected first round picks away to go out and get a Derek White Now would I be super keen on doing that No Because that signals to me that you’re entering a rebuild and I don’t want to enter a rebuild when Jason Tatum’s on the basketball team So I’m not really entertaining a trade for Derrick White but it is interesting now that we know what Desmond Bane’s going to command in a trade I think Derrick White would command just as much if not more and so might Jaylen Brown But I would pump the brakes a little bit on Brown because here’s my view of things in the in the league as far as how trades go and how this crazy offseason is going to shake out Trades in the NBA and specifically trade values around the league they’re not determined by the player on the basketball court If that was the case then Jaylen Brown would go for six seven eight first round picks Luka Donuch would have went for six seven eight first round picks But you got to think about context You got to think about circumstance Jaylen Brown he makes 50 to 60 to 70 million So you’re committing to him either being your best player or your highest paid player I’m not so sure how many teams want that In the case of the Mavericks yes Leo Harrison was the dumbest man in the world for doing the trade that he did for Luca Donuch but there was real reasoning behind it They didn’t want to pay him the supermax contract They were concerned about his phys physical uh stature So there are it’s not just what you can you do on the basketball court It’s how do you affect my books How do you affect my future And for a guy like Jaylen Brown maybe there isn’t much of a trademark it because of that But as far as the player that he’s going you know that he is and as far as the player that Derrick White is they could absolutely see the same return that that the or Memphis Grizzlies got back for Desmond Bane But only time will tell if the Celtics actually entertain any trade offers for either of them If they had to though if the Celtics had to trade one of these two and trust me they’re going to get a massive haul for either one of them Is it Jaylen Brown or is it Derek White You type JB if you think you’d rather trade Jaylen Brown You type DW in the comments if you’d rather
